About sa brightness ng screen dude, you can use the highest brightness setting(yung brightness pag naka plug yung adaptor), sa bios may i-di-disable ka lang na option I forgot what it's called pero dun yata sa power options ng bios LCD blah blah., tapos make sure na naka set sa highest yung brightness then restart, pag tapos ng restart don't touch the brightness ulit, bumabalik kasi sa dati yung saken pag ginalaw ulit or sinaksak yung adapter then tinanggal, But your right, talagang mas malabo screen ng a8 natin compared sa ibang laptop :(

my temp idles at around 60C even when at minimal power management... i remembered i let the staff at asus clean my laptop... they removed the hsf but didn't apply a new thermal paste... this must be the culprit for my now very hot laptop... if someone could recommend a good paste then maybe my life would be better now... and oh btw... do you know where to buy a thermal tape?

@gloval
Vista? :D same problem... anyway... good thermal paste is the one used with the CPU of desktops, the liquid silver. :D most computer shops have them, a small injection like tool with silver paste inside. :D

@gloval
well yeah... it looks like cdrking... the only difference is most of the time its branded (of course if its branded, it should be of high quality right?)

i am thinking of doing it myself.. the only thing that is stopping me from doing it successfully is the thermal rubber or clay thing on the gpu... it's quite malleable so i'm pretty sure it's not a thermal paste... aside from that.. everything is easy..

@rylen
- I just reverted back my OS from windows 7 to XP since I can't find fix to my problem regarding my A8JR DVD writer and Card Reader.
@All
- I just upgraded my Mem from 2gig to 4gig but XP-32bit can only dectected 2.8gig in my system. I am aware of not having 4gig in my system but i was hoping to get higher than 2.8gig. Anyone from you guys who already upgraded to 4gig, what OS do you have?

@wolfbomb
- I think I will also revert my OS back to XP.. There are times that the fan of my A8JN won't turn on. I oftentimes need to restart my laptop in order for the fan to turn on. It's regrettable since I began to like the new OS.
