Momentus XT Hybrid = 500GB HDD + 4GB SSD.

^IMHO yung 4gb SSD part nya is not that sufficient para makapagboost ng performance sa HDD in a remarkable way. Tama si NeoRedz mixed ang reviews nya. I also planned on getting one pero naghesitate ako because of that.

as pointed out in tom's hardware review, do not consider the Momentus XT as an SSD, but rather as an HDD. this explains the WEI subscore.
However, looking at the product name allows us to take the position and standpoint that is most appropriate when looking at this product: the Momentus XT is a hard drive! It just happens to utilize flash memory in an effort to improve performance. Once we treat it like a hard drive, then we shed the performance expectations to which it can't live up. Yet, the Momentus XT is one of the most innovative storage products in years, and it delivers in real life.
All performance numbers we’ve seen are at least good, as the Momentus XT outperforms all 7,200 RPM 500GB competitors in the majority of our benchmarks. It is the fastest 2.5” drive when it comes to throughput and I/Os, it has good application performance and it delivers great scores on SYSmark 2007 as well, which is based on real applications.

^ i'm not treating it as an ssd :)
if for a measly added performance compared to a regular 7200rpm laptop hard drive, i doubt you're gonna feel the "difference" between the two unless you benchmark it
even some people don't feel the difference between 7200rpm and 5400rpm drives
it maybe is faster than 7200rpm drives but not by much

that slight difference in performance is what people are after.
it's my client's final decision to get the Momentus XT, though i also offered him SSD from Corsair, OCZ, RunCore, Intel and Kingston.
the 5.9 score is also true with WD Velociraptor 10K RPM and my laptop's 5400RPM HDD. so does it mean they are all equal in performance?
WEI score of my client's workstation rig with WD Velociraptor..
WEI score of my office laptop with 5400RPM SATA HDD..

so does it mean they are all equal in performance?
of course they are not equal, btw that's not my point...
what i'm pointing out is that there is no noticeable difference unless you benchmark it and see the values presented on the benchmark software
and most likely your client will opt for the xt since it is cheaper than full ssd's

"The disk score measures disk bandwidth (in Mega Bytes per Second). "
Since the SSD part of the XT only serves as a read-ahead cache, it doesn't really help increase the absolute bandwidth of the drive. It's still a 7200rpm drive with a huge cache.
In Vista's time, 5.9 would be the maximum value. Windows 7 has increased the cap, but I think you'll need a SSD and SATA 6.0GB to really up that score.

Just got a similar performing card to my GTX275 for my planned mitx/matx rig.
@NeoRedZ

cute nga nyang vc mo ah hehehe :D
