Samsung T240HD & T260HD Thread

  • @qwertyqaz - OT: san store to Samsung P2370HD at P17k cash :-)
  • I'm thinking of replacing my 2693HM with an offer for a T260HD. I love my 2693HM and have absolutely zero issues with it. The problem is that my PS3, with its busted HDMI output, is in dire need of some HD goodness. And all I have is component to play with, and the T260HD has just that.

I've tried using separate external TV tuners (K-world SA-300 comes to mind) to "convert" the analog component signal to HDMI, but that produced a washed out picture with fuzzy colors.

I don't have the cash to buy a totally new monitor/HDTV for my PS3 exclusively, so this is my only option at the moment. My main concerns are, in order of priority:

    1. Input lag.

I play CS:S competitively online, and use a high sensitivity. The 2693hm has virtually no lag as far as I can tell, having come from a T220 and a CRT previously. I've heard tons of stories of the Txxx HD models having massive input lag due to the built in tuner/scaler, but I want to hear firsthand accounts from you guys.

    2. Vertical viewing angles.

I like lying down while watching a nice movie on my monitor (which is right next to bed), and would be looking up somewhat while watching.

I would definitely appreciate any input from current or previous T260HD owners, preferably people who actually play twitch-based FPS's competitively. Highly noticeable input lag would be a definite deal breaker for me, I'm afraid.

    Thanks!

  • Guys up ko lang.

Feedbacks naman regarding responsiveness when playing games especially FPS. I'm really torn which LCD to buy. According to digital versus kasi, PX2370 has a better responsiveness compared to T240/T260. Kaso gusto ko sana yung additional vertical pixels ng T240/T260.

    Thanks!
  • t260hd user here... i play ps3 games like super street fighter 4, this games require proper reaction from input to screen to perform ung mga link ng combos.. in my experience very mininal or negligible na para sakin ung 5ms response time ng t260hd.

edit (response time should be from 50ms to 5ms, added link)

  • T260HD user here. ano yung Magicbright settings? am not aware on this one XD

up naten para sa query nyo :)
  • ^ Bro when you press Tools sa remote, lalabas agad yung MagicBright Settings - naka default sya sa Entertain, which is masyadong malinaw ang backlight. I would set it always to Internet kapag hindi nanonood ng movies, pero once in a while bumabalik sya sa Entertain, so mabibigla na lang ako bigla lilinaw yung backlight, siguro interval of 10 to 15 minutes minutes. Ganun din ba sayo bro?
  • May nakatry na ba sa inyo na isaksak eto sa bluray using DVI connection? Gusto ko lang makasiguro na yung DVI connection ng T260HD ay HDCP capable. Wala kasing HDMI yung card ko at ayaw magplay nung bluray using DVI connection. May error na lumalabas sa powerdvd8. According to BD Advisor "my DVI connection is digital but not HDCP".

My hunch is that my VC Palit 7600GT is not HDCP capable. Pero gusto ko pa rin makasiguro bago ako bumili ng bagong hardware.

    TIA.

ah, yun pala tawag dun. yung akin, dynamic, movie and standard ang choices sa picture. di naman nababago settings yung akin. been using it as extension display sa laptop, tv and console gaming.
parang meron yata setting na disable, parang nabasa ko dati dito, store mode o shop mode yata yun. you can access it by pressing some combinations on the remote.

    eto pala, try mo. hth

  • May successor na ba tong T260HD? anong model number?
  • @borres

P2770HD..kaso hindi pa locally available eh.
  • sayang... 16:9 na lahat halos ng models... for me sulit talaga ang T260HD.
