AFAIK:
the term netbook is coined due to its main purpose of "surfing the net" (browsing, email and the likes). it is not design to multi-task - gaming, to edit videos and even photos due to its limited power...
the funny thing bout notebook and netbook term, they are usually interchanged... they term the netbook as notebook because akala nila yun ang notebook since kasize sha ng regular notebook natin...
ask nyo mga girls whats a netbook and a notebook and maeexperience nyo yang sinasabi ko... ehhehehhe
funny but true.. :)

@AC: i considered it as MSI marketing gimmicky in this sense.. they tell buyers that the Wind U200 is a netbook but with higher spec.
by Intel standard, if the processor is an Atom (or its equivalent in Via or AMD), then it is a netbook.
Macbook Air has Core 2 processor. it is a thin laptop. :)

like what i said po.. sir.. badass.. it depends on the marketing...
apple marketed air as a sexy ultralite notebook..
yes... U200 may be a gimik.... they called their ultralite a netbook and priced it like a netbook..
U200 starts at 21995php (suggested retail price) which we all know can be bought a few thousand less than srp when bought cash..
if it were a gimik.. its a gimik which favors end users like us...
