  • re bsassi.org, nakareceived din ako today!

tumawag and nakausap ko pa! rahul daw name nya.

tinanong ko ba't "bsassi.org" email nya, sabi subsidiaries daw sila.. and when i asked san office or san sila nakabase, sabi sa Singapore daw.

I end the convo saying, sige, papadala ko na lang. Maghintay sya sa wala.

nga pala ito sender: [email protected]

    Ito nag-email...

"I still didn’t receive the questionnaire form regarding the proofs of the software licences that you are using.

Therefore, I have sent the report to BSA team and probably you would be receiving call from them for further actions.

Or sabihin mo di kaya nageentertain ng serious matters over the phone, magpadala sila ng tao para face to face conversation.

tama naman reason ng original poster not to name the bank and exact branch... pero they should be fixing that major issue...

actually pwede rin siya matamaan ng legal kapag sinabi niya yung bank, not surprising na ganito gagawin nila, kung Credit Cards (assuming CC user never used online shopping apps) nga kaya nila makatakas ng purchases sa Sh**ee and L**a*a kapag Pfished out na CC info ng vicitm

  • ^Though I understand, but this is just another "Only in the Philippines" reasoning. Kalungkot lang na we're living in fear to fight for the right of transparency.

apparently... kapag CC fraud lang nga dapat full transparency to the victim na anong item to where will it be delivered kapag charged sa online shopping if ruled

it's not that pero depende na sa mga bangko if they ever hold safe for depositors and users of their services.. not all of them are that safe but it depends on how they make it safe and trusted

My take on the story is that the bank branch is new, and most likely the hired tellers are new too. Then a new teller decided to steal from a client's passbook account, which is pretty stupid because it can easily be tracked/disputed. If you want to steal from a bank/bank client(s), you should do what was done by some bank personnel (two women) at a bank near our home a few years ago. They were able to withdraw money (as bank officials/management) then disappeared, dunno if they went abroad.

Personally I don't look at the passbook transactions closely, mostly because my passbook account (BPI) is my savings account which I just deposit to but don't withdraw from. I just look at the deposit slip and verify if the amount deposited is the same as what I inputted in the BEA. What I check frequently are the online banking records, which shows the movement of funds. This important for me because I have payments to me that are only done electronically (it appears as an "elink" transaction) and I only note this because the balance increases despite having no over-the-counter transactions.

I don't think (like stated in the Facebook post) that avoiding enrolling an account to online banking is a necessary safety measure. Like I pointed out, it allows you to monitor your accounts closely, which increases security. It just requires that you are careful with your security practices (avoiding obvious passwords, being able to recognize phishing attempts, avoiding public internet while accessing online banking, etc.)
