Globe@Home Broadband Wired ADSL/VDSL Thread

  • ^

Salamat.

  • ^ anong plan po yan sir?
  • no, VDSL isn't symmetrical with its bandwidth. 20-23mbps down speed ko while 4-6mbps up speed ko

  • According dun sa nagkabit ng VDSL namin, may room pa for improvement dahil yung poste na kung saan kami naka connect ay around 500 meters ang layo sa bahay namin.

He estimates 30+ mbps pag naayos, to follow nalang daw ayusin yun setup - kasi magulo ang Globe.
  • Hello, ask ko lang sa mga nakaavail ng free subscription ng DIsney Life for 6 months, kailangan pa ba itawag sa hotline ng globe before your free 6 months end to unsubscribe or automatic na mawawala iyong subscription?

    Thanks in advance!
  • VDSL2 Plan 1899 20 mbps unli

  • @jayredz - For HOOQ, FOX+, iFlix, and Amazon Prime Video, subscription will auto-convert to paid version on the 7th month.
DisneyLife will auto-expire after 6 months and you will not be charged.

    HG180 pala yun router namin

Kaya siguro hindi mainit masyado yun iyo, naka off wifi.

I guess baka mas okay na kumuha ng better router to handle the wifi load.
  • ^ yeah I'm using Mi Router
  • @sapphire25 - maraming salamat po sa info!
  • @jayredz

    for my globe dsl?
    Tnx

mmm a little helpful but it kinda misses the point.

we want to avoid router overheating to prevent internet slowdowns, router overhangs, router self-reboots, etc. medyo pointless to let the router rest at night kasi tanghali at hapon madalas mag overheat ang routers. kaya cooling solutions talaga ang best way to fix this.

there is also anecdotal evidence that says daily power cycling (turning on and off) is bad for the router. meron namang protection ang routers against "in rush current" (yung unang daloy ng kuryente kapag sinaksak sa outlet) pero hindi siya intended for daily occurence. much better to use the router's power switch instead (although this is also subject to mechanical wear and tear --- again, routers were engineered to run 24/7)

anyway, globe will replace the router (most likely for free) if it goes kaput. yung inconvenience lang talaga ang kalaban mo. if you've got a third-party router, then that's a different story.

eto naman setup ko sa home network namin. i just used 120mm case fans:

  • @azureguy

panu mo na-power ung case fan? usb to fan header cable or?
  • @GENTLEMEN

ung isa, spliced lang. i cut off the 3-pin, kumuha ako ng micro-usb cable, tapos cut off the micro-usb head, tapos i spliced both cables together.

  • My fiberhome AN5506-04-FS has never been replaced since day one.
It has been running 24/7 since it was installed last July 2017.
Few days after it was installed temps were reaching 62-65c, It was quite hot.
Added a 80mm fan sucking air outwards and powered directly from the ONU's usb port it was 10c cooler. I bought a step up 5V TO 12V USB cable and the 80mm DC fan was now running at full speed.
Temps went down to 39c to 41c. What i like with the fiberhome AN5506-04-FS is that the vent holes are on top and temps reacted immediately after adding a fan.
