The PSU Thread: New Products and Reviews

  • ^odd. Sa S12II 620w di pwede EP 1000va. Ano devices naka plug sa avr mo?

Anyone using FSP EP 1000/1500va sa Seasonic M12II evo or G series?

Baka nga may issue UPS mo. Consider having it checked or kung bago, try RMA.

Di ko sure if this trick will work.

Plug the PC to an AVR (yung magandang klase) then plug the AVR to the UPS.

Wala naman akong alam na hard scientific fact to back that up pero it may have something to do with pure sinewave vs. modified sinewave thingy ng mga UPS.

Better yet, you can try Meiji or Panther brand UPS. Dito gawa yun at OK ang performance.
  • @sh0ckwAv3

Only my PC...Monitor and Speaker sa cheap Rise 1000va UPS...Wala naman ako naging problem sa ganitong setup ever since...Thrice ko ng pinalitan battery ng FSP EP 1500VA and Twice naman dun sa Rise 1000va..
  • @Su30FlankerC
IIRC Corsair GS yun psu with AMD 7970.

    @Odellot

I would recommend you get a 600 watt true rated PSU at the very least. During peak gaming loads umaabot ng 250 watts - 270 watts ang R9 290X and that's for the videocard alone.

Siguro you can get by with a high quality 500W PSU, pero baka lumagpas ka na sa 60% load ng PSU while gaming.
  • mag upgrade ako ng PSU, gamit ko now is s12 520w. pa-recommend naman po atleast 1-3 good choices. planning to go m12 620w sana pero i'll be upgrading to 1080 ti this coming September baka mabitin. Thank you in advance :)

  • Guys recommend me a good silent powersupply around 800Watts. I got a Seasonic M12II evo 850W & it's annoyingly load at gaming using 1080Ti. Confirmed it's the psu fan that's causing it.
  • @bladefrost

Usually Seasonic PSU's are quiet under load unless the PSU is overheating or not getting enough airflow. I think you might have gotten a defective unit or the PSU fan is worn out / has a bad bearing. Try sending back the PSU for RMA and they might be able to replace your PSU with a better one.

If you want an alternative to Seasonic, check out the EVGA SuperNova G2 850W PSU. It is made by Super Flower and also has a semi-fanless mode switch so you can turn off the fan for low noise operation.

Or you can also inquire from the PC shops if they have the Super Flower Leadex Gold 850W model, but I think the EVGA version is nicer. The Super Flower Leadex Gold PSU's have semi-transparent connectors which light up and look gimmicky.
  • @sleepygeepy

Thanks! Where can I buy EVGA SuperNova G2 850W ? Is Corsair RM1000i 80+ Gold good too? It has Corsair link to monitor & adjust fan speed via software right?
  • @bladefrost

Since we have an EVGA distro already, you can buy the EVGA SuperNova G2 850W from the usual shops... dynaquestpc, PCHub, Softbox Solutions etc. I recommend getting it from Softbox Solutions (annot) since they can deliver the PSU to your place for a minimal fee. Avoid traffic and the need to lug a heavy PSU hehe...

Corsair RM1000i is also a good PSU, but to be honest I'm not too fond of the OEM = Channel Well Technologies (CWT). Usually the best Corsair PSU's are the AXi series which are Platinum rated units with digital ripple control. They also have Corsair Link functionality so you can monitor PSU power consumption, control fan speeds etc:

If you don't need the 1000W capacity, you might want to go with the Corsair AX860i instead. Jonny Guru review here: <click here for link>

BTW, I think 1000W is too much for your setup... are you planning on 2-way SLI or are you building a mining rig? For 2-way SLI of GTX 1080 Ti the 1000W PSU is fine, but for mining it is more cost effective to use 2 lower wattage PSU's instead.
  • @sleepygeepy

Makes sense! Thanks! Will think about it more haha
  • What do you think of these psu Cooler Master V1000 Vanguard 1000W ? I was so disappointed with the M12II evo from Seasonic. It is the loudest thing in my system.

    Intel i3-4170
    Asus H81M-D mobo
    2x 4.0gb Kingston ddr3 1600 ram
    1x Seagate 1.0tb sata HDD
    2X Seagate 500gb sata HDD
    DVD Writer
    1x 120mm case fan

or upgrade ko na sa G550?

    many thanks in advance...

    -Intel i7-6700
    -MSI H110i Pro
-1060 6gb GPU (considering future upgrade)
