The PSU Thread: New Products and Reviews

  • saw some Ramsta brand selling full modular PSU units sa Sh***p**, prices start for as low as 1.2k+.

haven't heard this brand before is it reputable? TIA.

Can i buy and use extension cables for 24pin and CPU 8pin without worry habang naghihintay sa corsair PSU cables? any recommended PSU extension cables that can be used with Corsair PSU cables.

Not reputable sir. Di ata legit yung 80+ cert nila
  • I am familiar with Ramsta with SSD's. Fairly decent for a start-up brand. I also saw those PCIe 5.0 full modular power supplies which has a ridiculous price on Lazada.

I actually wanted to get one so i could test it and see if it pops or blows up since I find it very suspicious. Haha

    thanks sa heads up sir

see if it pops or blows up

hehe wag naman sir baka masunog bahay natin, knock on wood :D
  • I actually managed to blow up a few dozen cheap PSU's like InPlay, Fortress. They don't actually catch fire. They pop out loud. The worse thing that happened was a plume of white smoke.

as for the 80+ cert, theres no way they have certification for that price. Even the PCIe 5.0 support is sketchy.
  • ^
How do you make them blow? You have a load tester?

    Lmao. Magic Smoke.
  • Hi guys.

So ayon n nga, bumigay na yung corsair vs550 ko after 9 yrs. Nauna na sya mag new year.

    Thanks in advance
  • @localfly

For 3700php (minus pa with vouchers) you can get a Cooler Master MWEv2 Bronze DC-DC 650W and IMHO its worth it.
  • @fakuryu

    Thanks
  • @localfly

Kung nasa budget mo yung Core, get it na esp yung 650W para sa extra connectors narin
  • @fakuryu

Naglagay pala ako ng proposed budget. Sorry, my bad. Disregard na yung budget. Pwede naman dagdagan

Thanks by the way. Check ko sila pareho, basta yung 650w yung kukunin ko
  • Mukang ok yung ramsta brand sa lzd
  • Mukang ok yung ramsta brand sa lzd

  • @fakuryu

Hahaha pero di yun binili ko. CM MWE v2 binili ko
  • Mukang ok yung ramsta brand sa lzd

    LOL NO.

  • Cooler MWE comes in 2nd on my budget PSU list. One of these days, I would get that Ramsta PSU from Lazada, just so i could test it out. Who know, I might be able to pop it like a Corsair VS PSU. lol
  • I have a Seasonic S12II 520 for a decade now never have a problem, Now I'm building a new rig and the Seasonic S12III 550 is now on tier E to avoid list, should I really? Iba n ba internals nya?
  • @adxngl

Hindi Seasonic ang OEM ng S12III, RSY yung gumawa for some reason
  • question lang. I have surge protector naman, do I have to buy an avr pa para sa rig? thanks in advance
  • get that Ramsta PSU from Lazada, just so i could test it out

kung may mid range build, higheend build, kinsenas build, sana may gumawa ng Hampaslupa Build, puro never heard items just to see if it is feasible & budget friendly without hopefully compromising safety.

Sounds like a promising new member of the "help sumabog ang PSU ko at dinamay lahat" club. :P
  • :D yung bang tipong ramsta ram, ramsta psu, ramsta sdd, hongsun gpu, ecs mobo, full load 24/7

    FSP Hydro G Pro
    Cooler Master MWE Gold V2

  • Ano purpose nung button malapit sa on and off switch ng? ano ba default nito nakapindot o hindi?
  • @WinterLux

Go with Hydro G PRO 850W ATX 3.0
    -Tier A in Cultist site.
-I bought it from L****a at 5,190 php with stacking vouchers.
-750W version and lower is not ATX 3.0.
-ATX 3.0 for better transient spikes tolerance and low load efficiency. Not just the PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR connector.
-Cybenetics certified. More accurate than 80 plus certified.
-Though it's says Gold rating, that for 115V. It's actually a Platinum rating at 230V. https://www.cybenetics.com/d/cybenetics_vJH_eu.pdf

I really like the Cybenetics efficieny graph. Just plot your average wattage while gaming for the GPU, 12V axis, and CPU, 5/3.3V axis. My 5600x and 7800 XT, though 850W is a bit overkill, it's still at the 92-94% efficiency while gaming.

  • Also using Hydro G Pro 750. It's more than a couple of years since purchase, and the PSU is still functioning as designed.
  • I am planning on upgrading my gpu to a RX 7600 <click here for link>

The specs for the GPU say at least 550W is required. My PSU is exactly 550W (Seasonic Core GC550 Gold).

Should I upgrade to a 650W PSU? or would keeping the PSU the same be okay?

    TIA!
