  • @d3rrick

Oooow...i understand. Thanks for the clarification!

I think nangyari na rin ito before, right before they made the major website redesign. Sana maayos na nila agad kung ano man inaayos nila. :3

    @BlackSG5

Bro naalala ko lang bigla..does the DT1990 Pro pique your interest? Based on Headfonia's review, it's a more balanced version of the DT1770 Pro. What made me say "no" to the DT1770 Pro as a potential HP purchase was the strident highs, perhaps because of the closed-back design.
  • @jai - Yes! Remeber that I said before that I'd like to venture into open-back headphones, I'm intent on getting these. I would like to audition them if I get the chance, but inital feedback is that it's more or less an open-back 1770, which is good.

Btw, how did you find the DT770's. I would imagine you didn't like them 'coz they have more piercing treble. I guess I'm not as treble sensitive as others.

  • @BlackSG5

I actually enjoyed listening to the DT770 Pro 250 ohms. Its treble isn't as piercing as the DT1770 Pro; I also liked the fact that its clamping force isn't as tight as that of the DT1770 Pro. It also sounded more or less "balanced"; I was surprised that the moment I hit the play button in my DX90+Mojo stack, I enjoyed the tonality right then and there. Plus, buying a unit is quite inexpensive (~Php8k only; if you've got a competent desktop amp, you can get a pair and call it a day). My only concern with the DT770 Pro is its long-term durability, since most of the unit is made from plastic.

Last time I tested it at Jaben Jakarta, muntikan na akong mapabili. I had to talk myself out of it (I already asked the Jaben staff how to get a unit from them, since they don't have stocks in the store). That was a really close call. Hahaha :3
  • sir ano po ang piercing at strident?
  • @Dyaems

Sir ibig po sabihin ng "piercing" and "strident" treble is "peaky" yung treble response, i.e., kung titingnan yung FR graph, may umbok pataas. Ang effect nito sa listener, masakit sa tenga and "fatiguing" makinig sa music, i.e., feeling mo pagod yung tenga mo only after a few minutes of listening. Another demonstration of "piercing" and "strident": subukan mong kiskisin ang two metal pipes (iniimagine ko pa lang nangingiwi na ako hahahaha). :3

    Sana po nakatulong. :3
  • @Jai - That's an interesting comment because the first thing I noticed when I tested the DT1770 was that the treble was a bit tamed compared to the DT770. I actually have 2 DT770's, a 32 ohm (2year old) and 250ohm (1.5 years old) and I can say they are robust and parts can be ordered and replaced easily. They are very comfortable especially with velour pads and I can wear them for hours even when not listening to music and just to suppress background noise.
  • @Dyaems

    Hahahahaha :3

    @BlackSG5

Thanks for sharing your insights! Yes, to my ears the DT770 Pro 250 ohm's treble is tamer than that of the DT1770 Pro. That said...I like the details, dynamic range, and soundstage better with the DT1770 Pro. Yung treble lang talaga yung dealbreaker. since when I listen to music via HPs, kulang ang 3 hours; when I auditioned the DT1770 Pro the last time, I already raised the white flag 15 minutes into the listening session since medyo fatiguing yung treble.

Gustuhin ko mang bumili ng DT1990 Pro...quota na ako this year, especially that nagbalik loob ako sa isa kong hobby (road biking). If bibili man ako ng isa pang headgear, most likely it has to be relatively cheap and the DT770 Pro 250 Ohms certainly fits the bill. That said...gusto ko rin sanang bumili ng Bose QC35 for use when flying since napabilib ako sobra ng noise cancellation performance nun (nakakapangilabot, sa totoo lang; you have to test it to believe it!). And gusto ko ring bumili ng isang Tumi messenger bag, kahit yung ballistic nylon "lang"; nag-aantay ako actually may mag-sale dito sa Jakarta (sorry admins medyo OT hahahaha :3).

Libre naman mangarap di ba? Hahahaha :3

Thanks uli bro for sharing your insights! If ever makabili ako ng DT770 dito, I'll post my detailed impressions and review here. Kulang ko na lang sa collection is a closed-back HP. :3
  • @Jai - The Bose would certainly be better for portable use. I tried using the 770 32ohm as portable for flying din but it's just so bulky.
  • @jaibautista

Lahat tau bro. Sayang all went downhill nung walang maayos na turnover. Yung reviews natin dun nawala nung mag expire ang hosting. PM mo ko fb mo bro I'll add you somewhere baka magustuhan mo. :)

Uu nga paps eh. Daming reviews and impressions dun na maganda, from the very first iteration of the forums until nung huli. Oh well. Hahaha :3

Will send you a PM right away. Thanks a lot paps! :D
  • Guys, can you share some pics of your current setup. Medyo ilang pages narin simula nung mga last photos of gears. Sorry, pasingit lang ng topic. Thanks!
  • Same same from last year :D
I've been quiet in this thread for a quite a while, and wallet found peace lol

Question: may fake bang X2?

Currently enjoying listening to speakers more than headphones through my Schiit stack:

  • dinkoy

    Grounding issue? That's new.
  • My humble desktop rig

  • @Dyaems

Oo bro. Pero matagal ko na di nakikita. :D

  • @adrianbochog

Paps first time ko rin nakarinig ng case na may na-g-ground sa paggamit ng headphones/earphones. Although I had previous experiences na may konting "ground" pag hinawakan ko yung portion ng cable na may ear hook (I think that's because of static), never pa akong naka-experience na nakukuryente/feeling nakukuryente ako while using headphones/earphones.

Your best bet would have your gears checked to a competent electrician.
