  • More like favorable to Schiit for monetary and popularity gain, but unfavorable to you by making uninformed decision for your purchase. If you have deep pockets, so be it :)

To each their own :) I am well aware of the multibit tech having done an extensive research to it before even buying the Bifrost Multibit. I'm one of those people who knows what I'm getting into instead of blindingly following brand hype. Back when I was purchasing a desktop DAC in 2015 Schiit provided the cheapest multibit implementation and have favorable subjective hearing reviews without the measurements so I opted to it. I was well aware even back then that that the resistor ladders can only so far as 8 to 16 bit accurate (the higher the bit accuracy, the crazier the price will be for a multibit implementation). And yes even those non-Schiit brand multibit DACs would yield similar results for sure. Even Texas Instruments who in zero affiliation with Schiit have their own chart regarding multibit/R2R bit resolution against the current delta sigma tech. Then again, I bought it for that Multibit sound which to my ears sounds better than 24 bit accurate Chord Mojo despite only having 8-10 bits of resolution. I don't even care about Schiit to be honest and I would pay for Chord DAVE in a heartbeat if it costed 200K instead of 550K retail because it provides outstanding technical measurements while providing that audio nirvana levels of sound quality. This is just my opinion so it could be technically wrong: R2R implementation when done right will give that eargasmic sound even if it measures terribly, but a poorly implemented DS DAC design may measure superbly (easily achieving 24 bit levels) but will sound lifeless or artificial.

  • ^get out while it is still early sir. kakainin wallet mo netong hobby na ito hahaha.

For dac+amp na asa budget mo, simulan mo sir sa fiio q1.

nyahaha! laban sir! I'll check it out kung san makakabili, salamat sa tip.
  • binenta ko na sony a35 ko, back to CP as DAP (mate9)
  • Hi guys! Any recs for bassy (warm and v-shaped are both okay) iems? Upgrade ko sana XBA-A3 ko heheh.
Price range maybe up to 25k? Oks lang kahit ballpark secondhand estimate.

EDIT: Medyo nahahalina ako dun sa Acoustune.

  • @matchachloe

sir nagpunta ako sa itlugan last Sunday, and they we're generous enough to let me test the headphones. Ang kinuha ko is Audio Technica ATH-WS770iS + Fiio X1 Gen 2. Okay lang ba yung combination na yun? Or mas better kung DAC lang ang kinuha ko instead of the player? Same kasi price halos nung Fiio Q1 Gen 2 (wala na silang Gen 1) sa Fiio X1 Gen2 kaya yung player na kinuha ko at the same time kelangan pa ng OTG nung DAC.

Sir pareho tayo, as in total noob din ako sa ganito. For me yung reviews is just a guide, kapag na try mo na for sure dun ka makakadecide kung anong gusto mo para sa budget mo. Yung binili ko last Sunday satisfied naman ako so far.

Kinuha, as in binili nyo na sir?

  • @officeboy
as if gagamit ka ng cord galing kay hari. hehe.

    @Crustix
agree din ako kay sir officeboy. Mas DAC/Amp kukunin ko din vs a non-android DAP. Taas kasi ng QoL points ng streaming-one-platform-app source kesa yung rip-from-cd-or-DL-to-DAP na siste ng buhay.

pero don't feel discourage with what you bought. Nice gears parin yan, tamad lang talaga ako, ayaw ko na yung isa isang hanap ng music from various CDs or look online.

Thanks for the tip sir.

By the way, may screen protector ba para dito sa X1?

Try t3chshop28 or th3 list3ning room. Alam ko mas improved version yung Q1mk2 eh. may balanced out kasi sya. Hahaha. sorry bro, di ko pa nasubukan eh. :)
By the way, may screen protector ba para dito sa X1?

Hahaha. USB extension at iba pa.
  • Got my jbl’s just now. Weird lang na walan singil si customs. Pinakita ko resibo and everything pero G na daw ako after paying 112php per box (2boxes kasi)

Very excited to test it at home

How much was the landed cost (item cost + shipping fees)? I think for items with landed costs of USD200 or less wala ka na babayaran except the Php112 postage fee.

    Grats sa bagong speakers!
  • @jai
$180 for the JBL Pair, $72.50 for shipping = 252.50 USD lahat. Around 13,000php plus some change. Kahit yung Customs officer nagtaka bakit walang order or note to ask for customs fees. I thought I was shooting my feet when I said out loud "Wala talagang tax? lampas 10k po kasi yan."

Ended up paying 224Php kasi dalawang 112 since dalawang magkahiwalay na box yung nakuha ko.

Tried it a bit last night, ganda ng imaging.
  • Commercial Break...

  • ^Speaking of the Focal Clear...

  • @majingotan
Boss, san niyo nabili yung Stands nung Yamaha monitors niyo? tsaka How Much?
See image below:
  • @majing

I'm still deciding either buying one or building one (pero papagawa ko sa mga may dunong). Just need to know, May difference ba ang kung wood or metal yung stand?

Baka di pako umabot 2k nun for a pair. Ata.
  • @matchacloe

Gaano kalaki uli yung nakuha mong JBLs from MD? Are these the 5" woofers? And sa living room ba i-s-set up yung speakers? Or sa kwarto?
  • I eat my words again...dapat kasi di magsalita ng tapos! :3

  • The perfect speaker stand is something that will isolate your speakers to the floor and to be totally inert. So kung naka metal stands ka pero hollow naman, mag resonate pa din yan so it will still make its own sound and in theory intrude to the overall sound.

According to Dynaudio either something na manipis (but should still be rock solid) so that when it vibrates it wont intrude much to the sound, or something inert like metal stands with sand/lead fillings. It all depends on the overall look you are going for kasi may WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) na kinoconsider yung iba.

This is also one of my apprehensions before, since I noticed that apparently for majority of stands you're supposed to just place the speakers on top. Not exactly the safest way to secure them, especially if there are small children/pets/clumsy adults around. That's why when I got my Q Acoustics Concept 20's I modified a pair of B&W stands for them (didn't get the official stands because they're extremely expensive). The bottom of the Concept 20's have 3 screw holes where flat metal studs should be placed, and these metal studs engage holes in a metal plate of the official stand. What I did was look for bolts that would match the thread of these holes, then fabricate a thick piece of wood where these bolts would be threaded. Then this wood was secured to the B&W stand using screws. So in effect the speakers are bolted to the stand, which makes them one unit, and they cannot fall down short of knocking down the stands themselves

  • @jai
    5" yung LSR30X's from MD's info page
the LSR30X is based on the best 5-inch powered reference monitor in its price range: the JBL LSR305
And I'm planning on positioning these in the living room of our future home. Pero maliit lang na bahay yun.

    @towers
thanks for the input. I wasn't considering the vibrations prior to your advice.

    @peorth
same tayo sir apprehension. I have pets so there is a high possibility that the stands would get knocked down.
  • @jaibautista

Have you had the pleasure of auditioning the Focal Clear?
  • @Lanvin

Unfortunately I have yet to try a pair. :'( If and when makasubok ako I'll post my impressions here. :)
