If you will use it for movies or playing video games, the S350db will be better as it has a subwoofer suitable for that purpose. For music listening, however, the R2000db will be a better choice.

Got my Edifier R1280DB din sa Lazada, ginamit ko yung sa BDO (VISA PHP 1000 OFF) if makaabot ng 6K. Pinaabot ko na ng 6K yung items (speaker + router + misc) so 5K na lang. Hehe.
Oks naman so far yung sounds, pwede na for the price though wala siyang "wow" factor kaya not too happy nor sad sa purchase. Hehe. Sakto lang since tagal na din ako curious dito. I have Swans M10, Swans M50W and Polk Audio S15 (+ Denon AVR-X1400H) to compare with din.
Gagamitin ko siya for everyday use sa TV na no need to use ng HT.

To be fair, it's a good speaker (Edifier R1280DB) for the price:
+ Bluetooth
+ Neutral Sounding (leaning towards warm)
+ Decent bass considering there's no subwoofer
- Not for basshead -
i just ordered the r1280db since currently i just use the measly speakers of my monitor which gets video-audio signal via hdmi fro Mac Mini 2012.
Should I buy a Fiio K3 for my desk setup para mas maganda sound ng FLAC? May toslink output naman si Mac Mini 2012 pero up to 96.0Khz lang siya. -

Depends if you have "trained" ears pero I suggest 'wag na lang. Some will say or will notice na merong "improvement" and some will say or notice wala. Even if there's an "improvement", don't expect much na lang.
Personally, ganyan yung expectation ko dati na buying an additional devices will significantly improves yung sound quality but hindi pala, well for me. Siguro if we're talking about high-end devices is meron talaga pero question na lang is do you really need it? Kasi if oks ka naman sa current sound quality, it wouldn't make a significant improvement kahit ano pang bilhin mong additional devices. Napagastos ka lang. Hehe. Siguro masasabi mo na lang may improvement talaga dahil gumastos ka or may dinagdag, psychologically ba but then, it's up to you. Hehe. -

I have been in that bandwagon before also. It does improve sound, but the question is, does that improvement satisfies you? If you have the cash to spare and the curiousness to fulfill, then you can try and see for yourself. Either you will be happy with it or you will be left wanting more.
If you are on a budget, just try to appreciate muna what you have. Sometimes, it is already more than enough, you just don't realize it yet. The Edifier R1280db is already good for what it is. For comparison, I upgraded to Edifier R1750db and found the R1280db to be better in the early weeks. Later, I begin to appreciate the R1750, and then I upgraded to R2000db. My point is you will end up wanting more. If that makes you happy go for it. :-) -
Try ko sana mag 5.1 surround. First time ko since puro 2.0 speaker gamit ko before pero i have questions kasi baka di ko sya masulit. Eyeing for that DA5100.

Mobo - x570 msi tomahawk
Soundcard - creative blaster(pero nakastock na to di ko alam kung gumagana pa)

1. Pag through hdmi ba connection ko magooutput pa din sya as 5.1? assuming the speaker is connected directly sa tv.
2. much better ba if sa mobo/soundcard ko idirect ung speaker? downside is di ko sya magagmit directly if mag movies lang ako sa tv.
3. most of my movies are mkv files. supported ba to ng 5.1 channel?
4. how do spdif work? pwede ba to simultaneous dun sa analog? for example mobo spdif=speaker then TV=analog?

wala naman hdmi input yung DA5100 ,you can use rca output ng tv kung meron para ma connect sa da5100

baka you need decoder para magamit mo tv and pc spdif using the DA5100

ang set up ko kasi ngayon sir pc connected sa tv through hdmi. then sa tv nakaconnect via aux si sembrandt soundbar. i wonder if same set up pwede using 5.1 speaker system. Bali direct si speaker kay tv. then si pc connected sa tv through hdmi.

I bought a r1700bt on shopee for 5.3k only and i think its great for music but not on movies since the dialogues are way too low unlike my platinum soundbar which is perfect for watching netflix/movies. The highs are a bit too harsh for my taste so i need to turn it down but overall i think it's a worth it purchase. I was thinking of buying r1280db but since the price difference is only below 1k i chose this.

Pero medyo madami ng problema like napupunit na ung parang foam around sa tweeter. Ung ibang lock sa likod para maging 5.1 sira na. May question lang po ako, may nagrerepair po ba dito nito? If ever meron man, paki PM ako if how much labor. Willing ako dalhin, willing din ako for home service.
Kung wala man nagrerepair dito, nag ooffer po ba si edifier ng repair ng mga ganyan dito satin sa pinas?

You can recone the drivers. Pero sa tweeter you need to purchase new ones. Tingnan mo anong dimensions ng tweeter. Marami mabibilhan nyan.
Sa binding terminals madali lang palitan yan. Either spring clip speaker terminals or binding post terminal makakabili ka sa online. -

swerte nyo sir that time nasa 20k pa lang price ng s550 na nakita ko pa dati sa pchub edge festival mall, ngayon around 50k na sa lazada/shopee.

1st off, out sa budget haha... lakas nga ng s550 20hz 150 watts ata subwoofer nyan. Baka pa baranggay na kami :D
Pero old tech na sya at ang dami speakers, mas ok sakin din 2.0 lang. Yung sa tropa meron kasi sya s3000pro, mukang di na need ng subs e ang tindi. haha...
