US Online Shopping - Pobox, JAC, LBC, MSB, etc (FAQ on page 241, Stolen items on page 208)

  • Anong best na gawin saan? Naka-pili ka na ba ng forwarder mo? May credit/debit card ka ba na ok for online international payments?
  • No idea pa sir sa pwedeng gawin, sorry ang vague: Yup may credit card na that I can use, dati nag Johnny Air ako pero pasuyo lang hindi ako mismo ang umorder. Kasi nakabasa din ako ng bad reviews sa LBC Express sa Facebook nila so I am exploring other options
  • Ahh okay. Well what you can do is explore then canvass yung rates ng different forwarders. After nyan backread ka dito ng experiences for each forwarder.
    Isa lang naman process nilang lahat; register at their website, then you will be given a US address na gagamitin mo as shipping address, pay the shipping fee, and they deliver the items to your house.

    Pag nakapag decide ka na, pwede ka na magregister sa forwarder then proceed to buying the item.

    For single items, I can recommend the following forwarders:
    - MyShoppingBox (MSB)
    - Jinio
    - LBC Shipping Cart

    Check their respective websites to check yung estimated shipping fee (plus possible additional charges) ng item mo. Tapos tanong ka nalang ulit dito kung may ibang questions ka pa.
  • Three weeks and counting. Sabi last week hindi pa daw narerelease sa customs kasi nag random inspection. Kung sinuswerte ka nga naman.

    What if mali pala yung items na pinadala sayo? Eh di wala ka na chance na maibalik pa?

    Just like what happened nung nag order ako sa Amazon third party seller last June, maling item ang pinadala. Good thing pini picturan pa nila noon yung mga items.

    Ayon sa email nila nag survey daw sila sa mga customer at marami daw nag agree na resibo na lang ang picturan...

    Talaga lang huh...

  • ^I'm actually one of the guys that agreed, kaya naman ako nag agree ay di ko pa naexperience na maling gamit ang mapadala and hopefully di naman mangyari.
  • Ang purpose kasi ng pag picture aside from checking if tama yung items, what if my damage pala.

    Most likely pagdating ng Pinas eh mahirapan na magreturn, or not return at all with all the hassle.

  • They are willing to help kaso grabe one week bago mag reply sa email.

    Nag request ako sa seller ng prepaid postage kasi sinabi ko na I live outside US and using a forwarder.

    In the end hindi na kinuha ng seller yung item, tapos binigyan ako ng refund ng Amazon.

    I get to keep the item for free, tapos via sea ko na lang pinadala para tipid since di ko naman kelangan ng mabilisan.

  • Yun lang kapag dumami nang dumami mga ganyang cases at lalo na kung magulang yun nagrereklamo na pinalabas na sira raw pero hindi naman kasi alam na hindi na kukunin muli yun defective at papalitan na lang o refund... diyan mangyayari yun sa ibang online sites na hindi na tatanggap ng address of a known freight forwarder.

    Pros:
    - Mabilis. Meron sila offices sa West at East side ng US. Sila lang yata ang ang maraming flight every week compare sa ibang forwarders.
    - Ok ang customer service
    - They accept items with batteries
    - They don't open packages so you will receive your items as is.

    Cons:
    - No consolidation.
    - Min 2lbs sila. So mapapamahal ka lalo na pag malaki ang volume weight ng package mo.
    - Mahal ang ang door to door delivery. If malapit ka sa Makati or Megamall branch nila, madali mo mapi-pickup.

    Sulit ba bumili sa US and use forwarder service kung meron naman dito sa Pinas for 13.2k (overpriced)?

    Jinio: $47 ($17 shipping fee + $30 charge)
    MyEcasa: P896
    MSB: Bawal Li-Ion batteries for air shipping

    Reminder lang, estimate lang yan and it will depend pa sa size ng box na paglalagyan ng item. Sa LBC at MyEcasa, makaka-affect yun. Sa Jinio, tinatanggal nila yung box kaya most likely yan na yung rate ng shipping.

    For me, mas sulit siguro kung makakahanap ka ng sale niyan (kunwari if bumagsak siya to $150, definitely mas sulit bumili sa US) to offset yung cost mo for shipping.

    Problema pati ang warranty sakali magkaroon ng defect within 1 year. Alangan naman ibalik pa sa store at our expense kasi galing abroad, di ba?

  • Guys, just want to ask kung legit ba iyung Jomashop? Tsaka gaano ba katagal maactivate ang registration sa Jinio? Also, I ordered handbags from Marc Jacobs thru POBox. Ok kaya POBox ngayon? Medjo late ko lang naisip na magtanong muna dito sa TPC bago mag-order.

    Lastly, iyung sa Michael Kors (MK) naman, hindi nya tanggapin yung Card na gamit ko, pero may option naman na PayPal, problema ko naman sa paypal, ok na sana kaso iyung Shipping Address naman nya is yung Address ko dito sa PH pero iyung Address ko naman sa MK eh yung US Address ng POBox. Ipapadala kaya nila sa address na nilagay ko sa MK (US) or dun nalang ipapadala sa PayPal Address (PH) ko?

    Take note na hindi sila nagshi-ship directly sa Pinas.
  • Why don't you ask them? Email them to find out regarding your concern. You're getting info here from people you don't even know personally. Be careful of misleading comments. Ikaw din naman maiipit niyan sakali mali pala naipasa sa iyong info.

    Once you have submitted all necessary docs, w/n 24hrs. activated na ang account mo. =)
  • Rule of thumb ko about electronics or gadgets, kung meron naman locally available at di naman sobrang layo ng price, dito ko na lang bibilhin.

    Also aside from warranty, what if during shipping ma damage. At least may peace of mind ka kapag nasira locally meron warranty.

    But that's just me.
  • Salamat sa advice. Based sa estimates, mukhang 12k total din + waiting time and various risks involved. I suppose its best kung mahand carry ng friends or relatives at least macheck pa nila. Afterall 1 item lang kukunin ko.

    legit yan sir. jan ako lagi bumibili ng relo, mostly Tissot and Fossil
    no idea sa shipping charge nung Jinio, pero sa LBC, less than 1k for 2 pcs fossil, dati yun before sila nag adjust ng charges. JAC naman, nasa 1.7k ang isang Tissot

    Better to ask the shop directly sa shipping/billing policies nila. But of course kung hindi yan nagshi-ship internationally, most definitely sa US address nila ishi-ship yung item mo. Besides, yun yung nakalagay sa shipping address mo.

    1) As much as possible, buy items that are only "fulfilled by amazon". Also, try to compare the item cost from other stores or locally if it's available, sometimes buying from them (inc. local/int., shipping, taxes) will cost you more. =)

    2) Take time to read the reviews.

    3) Prepare to take risks.

  • napatunayan ko, tax-free state ang Alaska...free Prime shipping pa (amazon).
    biruin nyo, non-contiguous state ibig sabihin wala sa mainland , wala akong binayaran tax.

    hawaii is also non contiguous state but they have sales tax.

    only 5 states have 0 sales tax - new hampshire, oregon, montana, alaska and delaware. If you ship to any of those states you wont be charged sales tax.
  • Nag experiment ako:

    ShippingCart vs Jinio

    Nag order ako sa amazon half I sent to SC, the other half sent to Jinio.

    J: within the day updated agad dashboard, with pictures of actual item.

    SC: took 3 days before mag update sa dashboard, resibo lang from amazon ang picture.


    J: I've paid the shipping fee Aug 17.

    SC: Paid the shipping fee Aug 20.


    J: You have to email them to know the status of your shipment

    SC: Has a tracking system you can monitor sa dashboard


    J: Until now wala pa din yung item, last status update via email is "Enroute to PH, ETA within this week". The promise of 12 working days will max out this Friday.

    SC: Arrived within 5 working days, received the item last friday.

    Been using SC for most of my shipments, they have hiccups last 3 months ago. It looks like they're getting back to normal now. Don't like how they now only take pictures of the receipt though.

    Jinio is still new, maybe and hoping in months to come they will improve more, like having a tracking system on your dashboard so you dont have to email them every now and then. They said they're working on it.
