DTV Update 3/14/2017
NTC Releases Draft Amendments to Memo Circular on Sale, Labeling of ISDB-T Receivers
The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) issues draft amendments to some provisions of the NTC Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 02-03-2016, for the sale and labeling of ISDB-T receivers.
These include the extension of the period for the appliance manufacturers to comply with the integration of EWBS function on all ISDB-T receiver sets.
The Philippines adopted the Japanese standard called Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial (ISDB-T) primarily because it supports the Emergency Warning Broadcast System (EWBS).
EWBS can be used to transmit important announcements to the public in times of calamities and disasters like earthquakes and typhoons.
Based on the published draft, selling of ISDB-T receivers without EWBS function may still be allowed to be sold in the market beyond the 18 month period after the effectivity of MC No. 02-03-2016.
EWBS, BML, Superimpose and Subtitle Trials
Manufacturers, dealers and distributors of ISDB-T receivers will also be given 18 months to comply with the provisions written in Sec. 2.1 to 2.3 of MC No. 02-03-2016, after the completion of test stream trials for EWBS, BML, Superimpose and Subtitles.
After this period, ISDB-T receivers without EWBS and BML functions will not be allowed to be sold in the market.
Broadcast Markup Language (BML) allows data broadcasting which is another way for the TV to show information on demand. The emergency warning may also appear on the TV screen inside a ‘superimposed’ box while subtitles can support multiple languages and will also aid the hearing-impaired.
Self-declaration of Manufacturer, Distributor
All ISDB-T receivers shall be supported by a self-declaration by the manufacturer or distributor. This should be submitted to the NTC, Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS). This shall be included in the Instruction Manual of each ISDB-T receiver units.
The revised circular requires the mandatory self-declaration 18 months after the completion of stream trials for EWBS, BML, Superimpose and Subtitles.
Changes were considered after the NTC conducted a public consultation with the local appliance industry association and other stakeholders last February 16.
The NTC has the power to promulgate rules and regulations as the public interest and safety may require.

Question:
Panu kaya yun? Maysira yung BRL or talagang panira ng signal yung transmitter?
Location ko is G.puyat Pasay malapit sa Boundary nang Makati and Pasay.
Thanks guys!

Guys, question naman. This is a totally newbie question but I hope someone can confirm. I have a Dell U2413 monitor. Can I use the TV Plus' HDMI connection to use with U2413? Sayang kasi, baka gawin na lang panooran using ABS-CBN TV Plus.
Thank you!

I won't suggest that using 5v 2a as a power supply for your ISDB-T STB's, baka ma-void yung warranty, most STB's required up to 12v DC, replacement nang power adapter can be a solution kapag naka-TVplus ka, puwede naman mapalitan kaysa masiraan ka nang loob, like buying another ISDB-T STB's again na replaces your defective slash exploded product.
most people nowadays want a different solution aside from buying a BRL antenna na hindi natin alam kung legitimate product ba yan. why making a DIY digital tv antenna
may nakita akong antenna calculator sa website na 'to na puwede gamitin bilang reference for your ideal DIY digital tv antenna para ma-address yung issue of unable to receive any of the digital tv channels na may LOW POWER signal
<click here for link>
most DIY antenna na capable up to 20db ang maximum gain nang antenna to be precise kapag yagi-uda antenna gagawing mong DIY na yan, at up to 22 elements ang kayang i-calculate nang site na 'to.
kapag nagawa mo nang ideal DIY digital tv antenna, sa anong polarization ba i-position, most DIY antenna na naka-post sa youtube eh naka-vertical polarization kaya na-increase ang signal at quality kaysa horizontal polarization. try differentiate yourself.
kung maganda ang resulta nang DIY antenna like getting all of the DTV channels you've wanted. saka mong i-share this.

brl o greentek, my in-law use greentek pero hindi makuha ang GMA o any other low power channels. BRL can pick-up low power ones & it acts like a SFN/MFN/On-channel repeater.

Yung #19, #40, #42 at #49 ayaw makuha sakin. (friday, 1-6pm)
The rest of channels, working na!
sabi sa list, yung #49 Net25/INC ay on lang daw 12am to 4am only.
kaya nag manual scan ako. (Saturday, 2am) di parin makuha #49.
OFF ba yung #49 tuwing saturday/weekends or di ko lang talaga masagap?
Antenna ko naka harap sa North & South (kung bi-directional ito)
walang booster or naka off yung Antenna power sa settings (di pwede ON)
Area: Molino-3

NET25 & INCTV are still in low power, try weekdays i-manual scan
if problem persist, nasa tv network lang ang may problema, they still in low power, even may GO Signal na ang Analog Shut-off, most of the TV networks na naka-digital tv insist of transmitting at full-power(as in 10kw transmitting power & above)
