Question about UPS

  Mga Sir,
  
  meron kasing akong ganto UPS kaso ang problema meron click sound minsan tapos minsan naman meron beep sound namaba tapos mag off na siya meron ba kayong advise sir kung anong problema nito?

  ^Gano na katagal sa inyo ang UPS ser? Lampas na ba 5 taon? If yes, palitin na internal battery nyan.

  Baka naman may lumuwag lang sa battery connector sa likod na dilaw. Siguraduhin niyo muna lapat ang pagkapasok nun.

  ^sige sir try ko ulit kalikutin yun likod pati yun relay kung ayaw talaga papalitan ko na lang yun battery, any suggestion na maayos na battery?

  Ask ko lang dito baka may makatulong. Saan nakakabili ng APC 1000va na 110v ang input at 110v ang output?
  Need namin sa isang client. US based dito sa Pinas at yun ang requirement nila. Thanks in advance

  Ano brand ng ups na ok maliban sa APC? MEdyo pricey kasi yung 1000V ng APC. Meron akong nakita, Secure, AWP at Aberlrex na pasok sa budget ko. Ok ba silang brand?

  Hi, I have an APC BX625ci-ms Ups 625va. Will this UPS turn on even if already has a bad battery?
  Mine doesn't turn on even after disconnecting the battery and connecting the UPS to wall outlet.
  Baka kasi may ibang components ng sira and buying replacement battery would be useless.

  dalhin mo sir sa service center ng APC, para ma diagnose bago ka gumastos para sa bagong battery kung may duda ka.
  
  meron din ako UPS na may kalumaan kahit ng lagay ako ng good battery ayaw na...

  ^kung may sasakyan ka, that car battery should be enough to test the UPS if it was able to startup. If it passes all the diagnostics on it while in battery mode, then its all good. else its probably the usual inverter problem. pag yan na yung nasira usually bili bago na.

  I bought a 325 watt Eaton UPS last week from here:

  On day 1 I used it on my 200 watt PC, the UPS went off along with the PC connected to it along with a continuous beeping noise from UPS indicating a fault/malfunction as per its product manual.
  
  I raised this issue with seller, but ultimately they will do no replacement unless I can show them video evidence.
  
  I contacted Eaton support when the first malfunction happened only to find out the unit was procured way back February 2018 by the reseller I presumably boughtfrom. And apparently, the 2 year warranty lapsed already. So I’m stuck with a brand new defective UPS with only 3 month shop service warranty.
  
  Lo and behold, the UPS malfunctioned again today and I sent them their precious video evidence. Still they would not engage in an outright replacement since according to them I was using an adapter to connect to the wall outlet. Them knowing that this is the second time it malfunctioned, a 1 week used UPS mind you, I felt they’re just avoiding their responsibility to replace a faulty product and talking to them started feeling pointless.
  
  Since continuing to use this UPS is risky, i transferred its battery to my old trusty APC.
  
  Any advise from you guys? I feel bad basing my purchase just by brand name without considering other factors like if the seller is an authorized reseller.

  ^ its not really a defect to be honest, you should know that there's a micro-delay when UPS is transitioning from main-power to battery backup. during that transition. you have a millisecond brownout, and the capacitor on your computer's PSU needs to charge up that ms worth of brownout so it raise its power consumption (probably higher than 200watts) for ms and UPS able to detect that higher power consumption and trigger a overload error.
  
  this is why, when buying a UPS, make sure to double the capacity. Iwas sakit sa ulo mataas pa uptime mo. yeah I know its expensive but to be honest, UPS is the thing you should not be cheaping out in the first place.
  
  so for your system, its 200watts you say. so you need to double that, so 400watts convert that to VA rating so you need at least 800va or higher UPS on that system.
  
  i always follow that formula. wala naman problema sa pag choose ng UPS.
  
  I also have a friend also pointing its a UPS fault but in reality its not, I let her see a working, in production UPS. same VA rating as what she bought, I bring that working UPS, installed it on her system and whoala, it also triggers the same overload error when I cut the power on mains. So this is usually a common rookie mistake when buying UPS for the first time.
  
  it is also in most UPS manufacturers recommendation out there to only maintain 50% of the total capacity of the UPS, so for 650va = 300watt / 2 = 150watts ideal load.

  Thanks for your input mr. polka. But would like to point out:
  1. Correction on the Eaton 5L UPS capacity, its actually 360W instead of 325W.
  2. Battery backup works fine when I unplug UPS from wall outlet, provided that I only tested at 100% battery charge level.
  3. There was no brownout/outage when the malfunction happened.
  As per UPS manual:
  Fault = Continuously sounding (this is what happened to me)
  Overload = Sounding every 0.5 second
  
  I have 5 year old APC BX-625 that I'm still using with same PC and it never malfunctioned. Its only rated at 325W btw.
  
  All this leads me to believe that I have a defective unit.
  What triggers me is seller blames my perfectly fine plug adapter. How could a mere plug adapter trigger a UPS fault?

  Ano.po.magandang brand yun.may service center sa probinsya. Meron ako dati apc pinayos ko sa isang tindahan ayun nasira nila tapos inayos. Siningil pa ako pero.dikona binalikan kasi umabot na yun.ng 5 years.

  If you mean by adapter is convert from 3 prong to 2 prong, then it may really trigger a ups fault. The better UPSes has a sensor for the ground which the adapter bypasses.

  I have an APC UPS 500VA bago lang ang battery na napalitan mga 1,300 yung price sa replacement batt. Ginagamit ko sa sa LED TV55inch, Nvidia Shield, and Cignal TV box. After about 2 months, I notice na kailangan ko i-pull out yung mga plug ng TV, Nvidia Shield at Cignal TV box na naka-saksak para mag-charge yung battery nya for sometime bago ko gamitin uli yung UPS. Is there something wrong sa UPS ko?

  The very reason why I do not recommend replacing batteries of UPS units. Sure you will be able to save some cash but don't expect much from it and may possibility na faulty ang pagkaka-replace ng battery which is even risky. I might as well buy a new one with 2 years warranty pa than have the battery replaced po. Sa akin lang po yun ha.

  I recently bought Kebos 2000VA and have a few questions.
  -is the weird smell normal (like burning something but the unit is not hot)
  -is it also normal that the fan is not working during normal operation? (I think it will only work when the unit is on battery or needs to cool down)

  the question is how fresh is your new battery replacement is, as maintenance free lead acid starts to deteriorate the moment acid is added - so depending how long it waited on the shelf before being charged again to full will be the basis if there had no internal self damage has been made...
