  • ^ saan mo nakuha yan? i mean, hiningi mo lang ba from meralco?
  • Mas tipid sa kuryente pag walang AVR.

Pc ko uwing Omni watt meter

AVR + Monitor + System Unit = nag lalaro within this range 72 to 79 Watts. I gave it about 30 minutes observation
AVR + UPS Battery Full + Monitor + System Unit = nag lalaro within this range 86 to 89 Watts. I gave it about 30 minutes observation
Monitor + System Unit = nag lalaro within this range 63 to 65 Watts. I gave it about 30 minutes observation

  • an avr serves to protect the incoming voltage from the spikes coming from meralco. In order to do so, it has to receive most of the blunt from this spike and outputs them as heat. To control the circuitry that powers the regulating chip, a minimal amount of power is induced to the avr so it can \'filter\' a big spike. depending on the wattage of the regulating circuitry, you may not notice the minimal consumption.
  • I don\'t use an AVR but that\'s because I use my laptop as a desktop (connected to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse). The battery compensates for any power-drop outs like that of a UPS.

And keeping a laptop plugged into 220v pero may battery for a Long time slightly reduces battery lifespan

if you do, walang proteksyon. kaya use \"condom\"

Ever since my first 386... I dont use AVR... I did\'nt have problems.
But for my internet cafe clients I advise them to use a servo type AVR...
for the simple reason that more users mean more spikes.
  • this thread should be closed.
  • could you consider this as evidence that yes branded psu\'s can compensate for unstable power HOWEVER their capacity to compensate is less than a good avr?

I have tested several avr (500w to 2000w relay type and servo type) on idle (naka power on pero wala nakakabit na appliances) using digital meter, nagkokonsumo sila ng 4-5watts, yung circuitry ang nagkukunsumo nito for regulation ng output power, so yun ang madadagdag sa power consumption nyo.
AVR not only protects from fluctuations and spikes but it also corrects the input voltage. a fried PC will cost you 20k plus.. Any new inverter appliance can easily be damaged by voltage faults.. efficiency of freezer and ref are affected by low voltage situations causing the compressors to run 24/7. AVR can correct low voltagesituations.

i am thinking if i still have to buy an avr, but i guess not. i think PSU(i have generic) is taking care of it.

but, if yung pc mo has high end parts, then much better na mag avr siguro?
