Question sir, one shot lang ba lahat yan? or stacking din?

sir baka pwede naman pashare ng set-up mo, if pwede lang naman hehe. TIA
  • 1ST pic: 8-10 shot stacked (bellows on Chinese rail on tripod)
2nd pic: 2-3 shots stacked (extension tubes handheld)
3rd pic: 1 shot cropped (extension tubes handheld)
4th pic: 2-3 shots stacked (extension tubes handheld)
5th pic: 1 shot minor cropped (extension tubes handheld)

1st pic: Led lights above left and above right.
2nd to 5th pic: Flash used with diffuser on a flash bracket

background used color cartolina and natural leaf or flower...

if you want to be super accurate when doing studios stacks, you need a linear stage at least 1\" travel kaso mahal... 8k

I know for some of you will say, \"Hindi ko na kailangan ng Macro lens\" given a approximately 12inch tall/size subject. Nakita ko po kasi sa ibang toy and photography enthusiast na gumagamit sila ng Macro lenses to deliver more fine details sa mga pictures nila. In my case, given a limited budget, gusto ko po muna sana mag hanap ng other option other than buying expensive dedicated Macro lenses.

Based on my readings ano po ba ang highly recommended in my case?
    Reverse ring?
    Manual Extension Tube?
    Autofocus Extension Tube?
    Rynox DCR250?

Or sa tingin niyo po ba a 50mm f1.8 lens will be enough na in this kind if photography?

Sample pictures ko po using my eos1100d + kitlens

  • I can see your subjects are way larger than insects. If you use \"cheap macro\" im pretty sure youll have a hard time. Cheap macro will give you VERY VERY VERY shallow DOF even at f8. Unless you are comfortable with focus stacking (which is time consuming), you can go on that route.

For the choices above, the safer bet is the extension tube with a lens mounted normally (not reversed). AF is not necessary on macro.
If i were you, to get the best result \"on cheap\", extension tube and a macro rail will do the job done. Any cheap macro rail will be more than enough for your need.
For larger subjects just like your toy models, you can actually use any normal to telephoto lens. The wider the focal length, the shallower the DOF on macro.

    Hope that helps.
  • OT:

Btw, im using canon 1000d tia

    Canon 100d
    40mm stm
    18-55mm is

    TIA! :)

  • @prodigi

    Ahh, cge po..
Maraming Thank you Sir Prodigi! :))
  • Prodigi saan ba makakabili ng reverse lense adapter at pano gamitin yun sa macro photography. Gamit 700d at meron ako 50mm 1.8 at 17-55 2.7 sigma.
  • Thanks Prodigi -- u got a message on how to fabricate a reverse ring.

Hehe!
