Napundi yung 2-year warranty 7watter GES LED (WECL-7WL) bulb ko the other day.

lower warranty GES bulbs have inferior components particularly in the power supply but also the LED emitters themselves (look at the lumen:watt ratio)

Just got a set of GE LED bulbs a few weeks back. So a pack of 6 pcs of 7-watt LED bulbs, with a 3-yeqr warranty.
Pack is PHP 795 with 10% discount, so PHP 715 / 6 LED = ~ PHP 119.50 per LED.
I think pwede na for a 7 watter. Hopefully, tumagal ang GE or kung nasira man, madali lang claim replacement.

pwed dapat palitan yan... as long as same model sya or replacement model ng luma. para sa mga phaseout at under warranty pa yung next available pwed ipalit...

for a light thats on for long periods of time go for best lumen per watt plus long warranty
for a light thats only on for short bursts like sa toilet and you never take a shower at night then initial cost may be the most important consideration, with cheap china LED's or even cheap china CFL's being viable options

One of the main reason kaya ka nga bumili ng GES kahit mas mahal is because of the warranty. Ngayong may issue na ganito mukhang di na worth it.

Not sure. May Ace Hardware ata sa basement ng SM Centerpoint, but this is on the 2nd floor hardware section.

If this is true, this is sad. We can't keep the original receipt for 2 years, kung matago mo man sigurado burado na by that time. If photocopy/scanned/picture is not enough, para na rin silang walang warranty pag ganyan :(

comparison between paraffin candles and LED
Mike Richmond, Studied physics
438 Views
Burning candles is more than ten times worse for carbon emission than using electric lights frugally.
All the calculations below are approximate, but all good enough to derive the result:
Electricity used in your home produces around 0.7kg of CO2 per kWh of usage. If you would be happy with lighting your home with a few candles, you would be happy with lighting your home with a single 1W LED bulb in use at any one time.
Allowing for inefficiencies in the transformers etc., and assuming you have artificial lighting in use for four hours every day, you are going to consume around 2kWh of electricity, releasing 1.4kg of CO2 with electric lighting.
Now, a 0.5kg candle is likely to burn for around 100 hours, so we need fourteen of them to last us through the year. That is 7kg of paraffin wax. You are going to struggle to read with this single candle, and your dinner parties are going to have a very intimate air to them.
7kg of paraffin produces around 2.5 times as much CO2 by weight when it is burnt, thus releasing 18kg of CO2 with candle lighting.

if it were beeswax candles maybe it would be carbon neutral. But are beeswax candles available in the phils? Super expensive maybe if ever

If you don’t want your home invaded this summer, you’ll want to learn the results of a summer-long experiment meant to test whether different light bulbs attract different amounts of bugs
...
Incandescent bulbs had the highest capture rate, followed by CFL, halogen, LED with a cool color temperature, and a standard ‘bug’ light. At the bottom with the lowest capture rate were warm-colored LEDs. This was fitting, as Justice said that LEDs coming on the market were what inspired them to test the bug-attracting properties of different lights in the first place.
The big shocker was the bug light. “The only thing we could hypothesize in advance is that the yellow ‘bug’ light would catch the fewest insects,” said Justice. “We were very surprised when not only was that not the case, but the yellow bulb attracted a lot of earwigs, which can be a household pest.”
So, if you have a choice, choose a warm yellow-oran

2700-3000 kelvin light or warmlight/warmwhite is better when you don't want those pesky insects killing your bulb if it were to invade the driver board, the filipino consumers are bit hardheaded because they are accustomed to Daylight bulbs
They also did a research on LED's daylight that if it still attracts bugs and it still is.... we used to have a LED showroom before whenever nighttime starts you'll see different bugs sticking on the fixtures
Good thing about those bulbs that I can still use the light even the E26/27 bulb socket is heavily dented just make sure that you take off the metal socket of E26/27 is taken out leaving 2 wires and you can test it on a CPU socket from the power supply (do be careful not to do it on a socket or extension cord unless you really know what to do)

May nakagamit na ba ng 16w led bulb or led tube? Plano ko kasi palitan yung 40w flourescent namin sa sala and I'm worried kung kaya pantayan yung light output, almost 1000 lumens kasi ang difference.
Max 16w led bulb/tube is 1600 lumens while 40w flourescent is 2500+ lumens.
