Actually, meron pang 17-20k maghahanap lang sya ng stocks talaga sa mga physical stores so medyo effort or he can settle for Chuwi or Dere laptops. Kung stretch sana budget to around 22k meron pa syang makukuha na entry-level na Acer or Lenovo yung mga Pentium N5030 ang processor.

The question is whether the laptop he'll end up with has decent specs.
Do they still put only HDDs in very cheap laptops?

It was mentioned already that the purpose is for online schooling how much processing power does he actually need? Any decent laptop with 2 or 4-cores, 4GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage will do. Even low-end laptops use small capacity SSDs or some even dual-storage, SSD for the OS and HDD for data. In his case, there is absolutely no need for a mid-range or high-end laptop.

Shop** or Laz meron ako nakikita 19-20k pentium brand new. Preschool lang naman ata gagamit. Actually kung online school kahit college or post grad course enough na nga at least i5 or i3 pa na 2nd gen and 4 gb ram.
  • bitin ata 4gb upgrade it to atleast 8gb ram.
  • ^
4GB RAM is the bare minimum these days. Hopefully they have slotted RAM-- I've encountered some very cheap laptops with soldered RAM only. The worst laptops I've seen had 2GB soldered (no RAM slot) and 32GB onboard EMMC (no storage upgrade except for SD card).
  • bare minimum na yung 4gb soldered these days, kaso yung iba walang room for upgrade hopefully ang makuha nya is with 1 more available slot + ssd + 4 core cpu, i think kailangan stretch ng konti yung budget para makakuha ng better na unit.

Actually as I've said sa previous post I can extend the budget naman if worth it kaya din po ang first question ko is cheapest. The last time I bought a new laptop for schooling kasi was 5 years ago an ASUS with a Celeron procie nasa 20k ata un. Kaya po ako nagtatanong kung magkano kaya ang cheapest na possible kasi I don't want to overspend since ang gagamit ay 6 years old lang. Even my old CX420 with a first gen i5 (with SSD) would do the job naman ata.

    Sir @ccl2003

Anong unit po kaya ang bang for the buck ang pwedeng mabili na instock pa sa mga store ngayon. Atleast po may SSD lang. TIA
  • ^ Merong HP laptop akong nakita equipped with ryzen 3 2200u, priced @ 23~24k. Search mo nalang SHP or LZD.
  • My everyday laptop is a lenovo slim 3 -14 inches model 81W0002NPH. Got it new last year sa lenovo store malapit sa min for 13,500 cash, came with 500GB HDD and 4gb ram.

Pero bago ko inupgrade ng ssd at ram I've used it for 2 weeks muna at mabilis na rin sya even with just its bare specs na hdd at 4gb ram. Planning to buy another one pero laging sold out kahit saan.

Hanap-hanap lang sa social media platform marketplaces or popular trading sites. Baka makakita
ka ng specs similar to this or better.

Not aware of this. My bad.
Yikes.

    Thanks po ulit!
  • bitin ata 4gb upgrade it to atleast 8gb ram.

Kahit sabay sabay pa nakaopen yan with web browser.

  • don't settle with 4GB. get a laptop with 8GB.
  • May 5600u na ba dito satin? What are the cheapest 5800u and 5600u(if meron) dito satin?

Edit: Meron na palang 5600u. Lenovo Yoga 13s ACN 2021 model. Below P47k sa online shopping app. Not sure if local seller pero may nabile at may feedback galing sa buyer.

  • @Maiharou

  • Are gigabyte laptops reliable? Is their Aftersales service good?
  • I'm planning on getting a 144Hz monitor this Christmas for my Asus TUF Dash 15 laptop with Nvidia 3050 card. I would like to play games at 144Hz at the monitor. What steps should I do?

    1. HDMI to HDMI to the monitor (i heard that using this makes the laptop use the iGP instead of the discrete video card)
    2. USB C - Display Port thru the use of an adapter

Which option should I go for?

Also can someone also recommend me a good 144Hz monitor preferably one with 100% SRGB color gamut. Thanks. Budget 10k-15k.

    Not true :)

I usually connect my work laptop with dedicated Nvidia gpu sa external monitor through HDMI, hindi naman forced yung integrated GPU on every game/app.

If you have an Nvidia card, you can specify through Nvidia Control Panel which GPU the app/game will use.

  • Hi! Any laptop recommendation for teachers? Pang MS office lang halos. Budget is 40k. Not sure if overbudget na but I'm eyeing for Acer Swift 3. Planning to gift it to my mom since ang bagal na ng laptop niya. Thanks!

-- edited by kashidesu on Nov 01 2021, 07:54 AM
  • medyo overbudget. just get a i5 processor laptop with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD.
  • @kashidesu
Kaya pa tumagal 10 years kaya sulit na.
