  • Anyone knows if i can buy online a 2022 Dell XPS laptop (i7, 4k resolution, rtx3060, 64gb ram, etc) then have it shipped dito sa pinas?

Wala kasi nagbebenta nyan dito. Thanks
  • Got a Lenovo Legion 5 Ryzen 5 5600, RTX 3060, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD
    Lenovo 24 in LED Monitor
    3k GC Sodexo
    Legion Bag, Mouse/KB
    24 mos 0%, for 80.5K

Gigahertz Vmall, not sure kung may promo pa.
  • @schutz

Got mine for 73K 1 month ago for cash, bag and mouse lang free. Good deal yang sayo.

  • Hey guys.

I am in the market for a new laptop.

    Must be:
    With initial 16gb RAM
    RAM Upgradable
SSD Nvme with HDD or at least a slot
    Lite for travel
Maximum 2021 year processor model or later
NON Apple. I will be installing a linux OS

    Nice to have:
    GPU at least 3050
HDMI port or at least an an adaptor to hook up with TV

Will be using for work during travel (I am an online seller)
Photography and Videography. So rendering has to be fast with precise and awesome colors.

Ideal budget is 50k but if worth it, I can go up to 70-80k

I am done with Acer. I upgraded my 2017 Acer Spin laptop to 12gb RAM and SSD Nvme right after it, but it feels the upgrade was a bottle neck.

    Any suggestion?

    Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon 14ACN6 82L00025PH | 14in 2.8K OLED | Ryzen 7 5800U | 16GB LPDDR4x | 512GB SSD | GeForce MX450 2GB | Win11 - SRP is 87k pero may nakikita ako online retailers na bumaba as low as 79k.

Imho, yan na best bet mo for ultraportable na may dedicated GPU.
  • @pedallionph

    Try mo kaya mac air?
  • @t3nma

More than 10 years ago, I was a mac user with the same perspective and expectations as everyone else right now.
    Mac does not hang
    Mac does not slow down
    Mac is better

At the time, I heavily use Final Cut pro and Garageband

And I can tell you that:
    Mac does hang
    Mac does slow down
    Mac isnt better

I know that M1 is better this time. I know SSD is powerful
I know that 10 years letter, the new Mac OS version is miles better.

But at the same time, Windows have upgraded as well.
And Linux community keeps on evolving.

I would be lying if I havent been into a Mac store lately.
Actually I have an been looking at the Air M1.

But when I try it in the store, I cant help but thinking, am I drawn to its capabilities or marketing scheme?

the Air would be perfect. Light and just only over 50k.
No the Pro. I need it to be lite..

After @ccl2003 suggested the Yoga 7 Carbon and the Yoga 7 Pro, I'm actually drawn to it.
I am been researching and watching reviews the different between the Ryzen 7 5800 and Ryzen 9 5900 because they have 5k difference.
Oh, and I am actually in the Green team and never had a Ryzen before. So this is also a difficult decision. They do have an i7 variant. Which would be my first one coming from an i5 user.
Yoga is not RAM upgradable as I require it. But it is lite.
80-86k. Yes it hurts the wallet than the Air. But it is a beast.
This would be my 2nd Lenovo product.
1st one was before the Mac. It was a hand me down. I really cant remember what issues I had with it.

  • @pedallionph

Are you currently set on getting an ultraportable? :)

For 80-86k budget, meron ka na makukuhang slim gaming laptop na naka Ryzen7 5800H with dedicated GPU (preferably RTX 3060), which I believe will give some Adobe apps a considerable boost :)
  • Are you currently set on getting an ultraportable? :)

He already mentioned above na need nya Lite for travel that's why I recommended the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon. And Ryzen H series with dedicated GPUs will definitely not suit his purpose since sa charger pa lang ng mga yan hebigat na.

I can relate with pedallionph kung ako nga gamit ko now as my daily laptop is an almost 3-year old Swift 3 with 8th Gen Intel Core i5, 20Gb of RAM, Samsung 970 Evo 500GB NVMe SSD, and 1TB Toshiba HDD and at 1.6kg plus charger nabibigatan na ako eh di lalo na mga gaming laptops. I am still thinking of retiring my Swift 3 soon but I have yet to decide whether to go for the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon or ASUS Zenbook 13 OLED. The Zenbook is still in play because of its relatively compact form factor though the Lenovo Slim 7 Carbon is lighter by around 100 grams. Yun Slim 7 Carbon kasi has a touchscreen with an aspect ratio of 16:10 kaya medyo kasing laki lang din ng Swift 3 ko now.

  • ^yup I know, which is why I asked :)

Based kase sa needs ni OP that's why I suggested getting something with a powerful GPU. Probably why bro t3nma also suggested Mac Air, kase nga for video editing and photography :)

But sadly hindi pwede gawing native linux machine ang Mac M1...

  • @dayamos

Inisip ko narin yan. Pero mga nakikita kong 3060 are usually gaming machines already. Wala Ung slim type bodies. Makes sense because of ventilation

Just bought the yoga slim 7 na non carbon.
    With ryzen 9 5900hs

Way off budget but there's no other slim 16gb oled I can see for a cheaper price.

I actually wanted to get the no dedicated GPU.
Ito ung inisip ko buong araw. Kung may bearing ba ang gpu for photo and video editing.
  • ^if you use Adobe Premiere Pro, then yes :)

Not really sure with other video editing software...

looks like a Thinkpad X1 Extreme will fit this requirement. ps - bias kasi ako sa Thinkpads and Linux.
  • Hi- nag crack yung screen ng MacBook Air (M1 A2337 2020 13" ) ng daughter ko. Where is the best place to get a replacement screen? It is not under Apple care as my daughter bought it from a reseller :-(. Thanks for the tips.

(FYI the laptop is indeed liight as the wind blew it off the small table when they were outdoors. We were on a hillside resthouse)
  • Hi!

Currently using a Flow Z13 (i7-12700H, 16GB, RTX3050) in conjunction with an XG Mobile 3070

Problem is the XG Mobile would sometimes just go into extreme power saving mode when it's idle or even sometimes while playing a game. After which anything that requires a GPU would just defer to the Iris XE igpu.

When trying to open Nvidia CP it would give me the error that I'm not using an nvidia GPU. Doesnt seem to be a problem with the 3050 dgpu on the flow z13. Tried reinstalling the nvidia drivers and asus armoury crate multiple times. I've also tried to let windows manage power instead of the armoury crate to no avail. Plus I've set the nvidia gpu power saving entry to Prefer Maximum performance.

I'm really stumped here and would really appreciate if anyone can help out. Thanks!
  • just sharing:

Upgraded the HDD of my 11 year old laptop to SSD and its now performing well again for online.

    Toshiba Qosmio F750 Specs:
    Intel i7 Gen 2
    8GB RAM
    640GB HDD to 240GB SSD
  • @elman. No doubt. SSD talaga is a better upgrade than changing CPU and RAM.

That can go even faster if you install Linux if you are up for that.
  • Hi I need to change the keyboard and screen of my Lenovo laptop. Can you recommend a laptop repair shop that you have tried in SM Megamall area. Thank you.
  • revived my old lenovo Y410 ~2007 core2duo laptop!
it is now running batocera (linux distro for emulation) and hooked up to a CRT TV!

flaky yung built-in bluetooth, kung minsan di madetect yung DS4. kumuha ako ng USB bluetooth dongle sana OK. or else i will go with wired gamepads!

  • Goods na ba or OP yung Legion 5 R5 5600H, RTX 3060, 8GB RAM, 512GB for 73K? Di kasi ako up to date kung ano talaga dapat presyuhan ng mga Legion eh.

I like the Legion since it ticks all the boxes of what I want in a laptop.
    - MUX Switch
    - G-Sync / FreeSync
    - Clean aesthetic
    - RTX Card
    - upgradeable RAM/Storage without voiding the warranty

Gusto ko sana budget ko lang 50-60k but if gagastos na ako nang malaki for a laptop might as well choose the one with what I really need and for the long run na rin. Baka meron pa kayo ma-suggest if ever.

  • ^meron sanang better specs at a cheaper price, pero hindi sya Lenovo Legion, it's from Acer :)

may laptop na ba at that price na at least 8gb ram and may ssd? for gpu capability i guess better to go for amd than intel at this price?
