Any feedbacks po for Off lease thinkpads for studies?
Planning to buy one po this weekend and just wondering kung kamusta po performance and yung quality po?
Tatagal din po kaya given it's a refurbish one?
i was able to get an off-lease refurbished Thinkpad x280 for around 11k (via ebay bid) and 12k (via ebay best offer). Rated as grade C pero in my opinion pasado as grade A. wala ako makitang visible scratches / scuff marks sa unit na nakuha ko.
Based sa lenovo website, yung warranty nya is kaka-expire lang din last Mar2022.
Thinkpad X280 ang pinili ko kumpara sa chromebook. Mas bang for the buck eh. Eto yung specs na nakuha ko -
x280 specs:
quad core i5-8350u
8gb ram soldered
256gb samsung ssd
FHD touch screen

How disappointing. Once nasira ang RAM, problema agad.
Can you recommend a model na hindi soldered ang RAM at around 40k? Thanks!

mostly ng new laptops may soldered RAM na. so far, wala naman ako naexperience na nasira ang soldered RAM.

I have had numerous laptops with soldered RAM none of them had any issues. Wala na halos naglalabas ng hindi soldered RAM except for some gaming laptops na may RAM slot pa din for expandability. Kung mainstream or mid-range mahirap na makahanap ng may RAM slot ngayon unless you'll go for an older model.

Ang dami ko pang nakikitang laptop na may ram slots.
Many Thinkpad series has at least 1.
ASUS, HP and even MSI have models na may ram slot.
Pero kung ang gusto mong laptop ay lightweight, or mga slim type, for sure soldered ang mga yun.

I think ang concern ni TatakTamahome is yung reliability ng soldered RAM so kahit na may extra RAM slot ganun pa din may soldered RAM pa din. Ang magandang tanong is pag nasira yung soldered RAM tatakbo pa din ba yung laptop even with a stick sa RAM slot? Ayun ang hindi ko pa nasubukan or na-encounter na case.
Pero gaya nga ng nabanggit ko wala pa ako na-encounter na case na nasira ang onboard/soldered RAM. Yun dating ASUS VivoBook X202E ko na ginamit ko for 6 1/2 years hanggang sa nabenta ko na onboard RAM nun pero hanggang ngayon buhay pa at gamit nun nakabili 9 years na yun late this year haha

most probably Thinkpad T / P series.
T series from T480s are now soldered memory with one ram slot expansion.
usually naman may RAM slot pa rin ang laptop for expansion pero hindi na maimamaximize yung capacity na pwede umakyat ng 32GB. 8GB yung soldered at ang max memory palang so far ay 16GB per stick (correct me if i'm wrong). unless si manufacturer by default 16GB yung soldered which is hindi pa ako nakakaencounter.

I've read about some cases of this online. The soldered RAM needs to be removed for the laptop to run again. In one instance, it was used as an excuse to increase the amount of soldered RAM by installing bigger RAM chips.

Any Lenovo Legion users here na may 3 year Legion Ultimate Support?
Na try na ba ninyong mag pa home service ng ram/ssd upgrade?
Tumawag ako sa Customer Service, ang home service lang daw ay checkup / repair, or basically kapag may problema ang unit pero kapag mag replace ng RAM or storage, hindi daw nila covered at kailangang carry-in sa Service Center.
I don't see the logic behind this, pero ganun ba talaga ang policy ng Lenovo?

Kung makakuha ka ng sale ng Ryzen 5000 pwede na pag bagong labas kasi medyo mataas pa yan saka alam ko na maglalabas ng 6000 series is Asus for ultrabooks pero wala pa dito nauna mga 12th Gen nila kesa Ryzen 6000 series.

Given your budget yan lang talaga ang pwede. Hindi ko masasagot with absolute certainty na max settings sya sa games na nilalaro mo but if you want to be sure extend your budget by 10-20k since higher/newer specs means higher cost of course. Kung talagang capped ang budget at least add more RAM and increase the SSD capacity if you intend to install a lot of games.

Hi! Does anyone have experience using an HP laptop (model 15-dw1053dx) or anything that has similar specs to it?
The specs listed is Intel Celeron N4120 4GB RAM 128GB SSD and with W10 as the OS.
Would it be enough for browsing and work (mostly listening to recordings and doing excel sheets --no complicated formulas whatsoever)

parang chromebook specs yan ah. nothing against chromebooks, but if you can get a hold of off-lease thinkpads i think mas better value and mas bang for the buck.
for example ang nakuha ko is offlease Thinkpad x280 -

240GB ssd
fngerprint sensor
8gb ram
swak sa office and school work. but if you cant find an offlease Thinkpad, at least get a machine with FHD resolution, upgradeable RAM and SSD.
kung hindi upgradeable RAM get at least 8gb ram
