^ just look for my post regarding openwrt on 5356u it literally works for me OOB. no extra config since naka DHCP yung ISP ko, for dual wan, well, may config ka pang gagawin of course which needs to adjust your VLAN setting under Switch page, in my case I use Port 1 as my WAN 2 and port 0 as my WAN 1 (primary wan interface). once done go to Interface page and create a another interface, all you have to do here is name the new interface (in my case wan2) and then select the interface (in my case the interface name is eth0.3 since my eth0.1 is my LAN and eth0.2 is assigned already in wan). then select what protocol your ISP using (usually it's either PPPoE or DHCP) once done it will take you to another page, which lets you configure the interface (eg if PPPoE, you will have a option to enter your PPP credentials given by your ISP), all you have to do here is go to firewall tab and select wan firewall (red zone) and then click save, once done, you will see a new interface (wan2 in my case) have a new IP.
now for dual-wan, well you need to download the software first since its not included on openwrt firmware. go to software page and update the list, once updated, search for luci-app-mwan3 and install it. once done go to overview page, then find the loadbalancing page. On mwan3 config, there's a lot you need to learn here, if youre familiar about pfsense multiwan then you will have no issue configuring this. If so just google for the mwan3 wiki page found under openwrt wiki.
tl;dr, it may be a pain in the ass to configure the router first for multiwan purpose but once configured, the rest of the configuration should be easy peasy.

port 0 = wan
port 1 = lan4/wan2
so if youre plugged to lan4 make sure that your plugged to another port eg LAN1-3
now set the VLAN like this
on VLAN 1 > Set Port 1 to off (since eto yung gagamitin natin para sa wan2)
click add > set VLAN ID value to 3 > set port1 to untagged and everything on port 0, 2 and 3 are off > set CPU port to tagged
click save and apply.
done now you created a new vlan for wan2
go to interface and clicj add new interface. name the interface (eg wan2) and set the protocol that your ISP using to get a IP from them, default is DHCP. After that find eth0.3 and select that. and then click save/add
after this you will be taken to another page, make sure to assign a unique MAC address to WAN2 (as well on WAN1 since it uses a universal mac for 535x routers) also set your wan2 a unique metric value set wan as 10 and wan2 as 20 then on firewall set it to red zone (wan), and then click save and apply
now plug your ISP to LAN4 port and you will see you wan2 interface gets an ip.
you have successfully set your wan2 interface, now the hard part is the mwan3 :P
if you still dont get it, teamviewer ko na lang yan tapos share mo na lang yung config to everyone who uses 535x router with openwrt for dualwan/multiwan.

Modem IP: 192.168.1.1
Router IP: 192.168.11.1

^upgrade to latest shibby firmware (for now i recommend v132 although the latest one is v138 but very buggy due to experimental multiwan).
under basic >> network set the WAN to DHCP then look for the "Route Modem IP". Set your modem IP there (in your case 192.168.1.1) and save setting.
also make sure that the WAN IP you were getting is not 192.168.x.x it must be around 49.xx or 112.xx. Kung ganyan IP mo then your modem is properly bridge.
Also make sure to change your WAN MAC address found under Advance>>MAC address. Then click the random button under wan mac address several times and save. Pag naka default mac address kasi hindi ka makakakuha ng public ip from PLDT.

The router's WAN is set to DHCP tapos route modem IP is properly set as well. IPCONFIG shows 100.xxx as my IP. Hopefully changing the WAN MAC will fix it. Subukan ko muna ulit. Ayaw ko muna magflash to ng firmware, nagkakaproblema lagi. hehe!
Update: Ayun! Ayos na sir! Maraming salamat!

theyre both using the same architecture but different kernel versions, the ac one is newer while the other one is older.
while the ac one uses a newer binary blob drivers that supports AC wireless, but N66u doesnt have that but the driver still supports it, while the other one is also supported the the binary blob drivers that n66u hardware had.
tl;dr it doesnt matter anyway, find out which runs stable and/or performs better.
of course the RT-N builds are polished builds than the newer ac build ones.
