I actually tested it, unfortunately, stuck lang sa 7MB/s yung transfer speed ng rpi/rpi2 (any revision), due to

    1. Shared bandwidth ang USB devices, that includes the ethernet which is also connected on USB bus
    - unlike banana pi, banana pi has its own interface for ethernet chip and last but not the least, gigabit capable sya, as my test with banana pi, it can achive 23MB/s easily if you access your storage with builtin SATA port or around 18-20MB/s in USB port.

    2. Dont have its own USB controller separated, nasa SoC mismo yung USB controller so, yeah...
    - banana pi got this USB controller separated on its SoC

From my tests, banana pi wins when it comes to a standalone low power server thing. parang pogoplug lang din ang specs nya.

Edit: test were done formatted at ext4 using arch linux. So your milage may differ depending on your setup, specially NTFS.

  • nawala yung ethernet port sa raspi zero?

The RPi has only 1 USB port, which is connected to a chip that contains both a USB hub and a LAN interface.

The Model A/A+ omit this chip, that's why it only has 1 port. The RPi Zero is essentially a stripped down Model A+.

    Might help ;)
  • Instead ng Pi to TV thru HDMI, pwede ba ko mag stream ng movies from Pi to TV (na naka-connect din sa router) thru ethernet?
    Thanks
  • ^Pede. gagawin mong NAS yung Pi mo.

    Salamat.

    To setup the raspberry pi.

I assume your TV is a smart TV or has wifi and/or ethernet port.

  • @MCCF

I suggest start from a minimal raspbian install like minibian para minimal lang yung resource usage.
I assume naka openelec, raspbmc etc ka since yung previous usage is naka connect to HDMI sa TV.

    @byakuya

  • pips, karamihan ng mga ext hdd ngayon wala na power adaptor. how are you guys managing to connect it to your rpi's? rpi 2, in particular? may ilang ext hdd kasi yung cable nya yung y-type (yung may 2 regular usb connector on one end). pag ginamit mo ba yan gagana na as long as may sariling input power yung rpi mo? pag usb powered hub naman, ang hirap na makahanap ng may kasamang power adaptor. may incoming ext hdd ako. alala ko baka hindi ko magamit :(

    TIA

I'm using a Raspberry Pi B version 2 revision 000e and it can power my seagate 2TB expansion basic(dating 1TB basic) using an iphone 5v 1a charger. I replaced the charger with my Asus Nexus 5v 1.35a charger just for a bit more stability and okay naman for less than 2 years.

Granted walang ibang peripherals connected to the raspberry pi, headless lang.

I think you can get away with the same setup on the raspberry pi 2.
  • ^ yey! maraming salamat po. hindi nga lang headless setup ko. using openelec as a media hub and torrent box. mga previous ko kasing gamit mga 500gb lang at self-powered. nabuhayan ako sa input mo, sir. sana gumana. thanks!
  • Good eve po...

have you tried vising the raspberry pi website? it has an extensive tutorials on how to code to "bare-metal" on pi, also if you installed a linux distro in it, you can use your fave programming language or scripting language to run on it (from perl, to c/c++, even c# or even vb.net)
  • May hoarding ng rpi zero? Di ako makabili
  • Siguro nasabi na ito dati, may usapan na ba about rpi 2 as internet shop pc?

For non-gaming use and mga hindi demanding na users like elementary students and first time computer users?
