Digital Download vs Hard Copy PC Games

  • Digital Download vs Hard Copy PC Games
its the same thing... especially kung hindi pirated! playable.

may mga gamers lang na gusto may case sila nung fav game. so i call these gamers. item collectors.

I always move around from places to places... cant always carry cumbersome CD or DVD with me.
  • i still prefer hard copies ng games.. if available.. if walang mabili steam & amazon ako..

ako rin ganito ang thinking...but it depends

we have only 3mbps net (non-fiber optic connection)

Pag through Steam naman or Origin naka torrent session ang download so pwede mo tingi-tingiin
Pwede mo rin naman i-backup pagkadownload mo so pwede mo pa rin gawin hard copy backup or through External HDD pag iinstall mo sa ibang PC

Another factor kasi para sa akin is yung price and availability...old games na namiss ko na laruin kelangan na idownload through steam...yung ibang games naman sobrang mahal sa Origin...yung ibang games hindi na available sa Datablitz...

hehe each has its own pros and cons so depende talaga sa situation...pero I don't mind acquiring games through either means :)
  • digital has its own place and use, same with physical copy.

if I really want a hard copy of the game, I can just burn it to a DVD or something, you only have to do is buy the game over GOG (since no DRM ang games nila) and burn that to DVD as a backup,

plus its cheaper to buy digital kesa sa physical copy.

although digital games has its own disadvantage, which is your internet bandwidth (although this is not a issue to me), hindi pa kasama dyan yung kalokohan ng ISP with the capping.

some might say that you can only buy games online with CC, well not a problem anymore, there's paymaya that you can use for, you can now buy games over steam, origin, gog, psn, google play etc.... using a prepaid CC. And you dont have to deal with gamex/datablitz shenanigans with their steam wallet overpricing (I think its overpriced by 200-300 pesos at the top of its value, insane).

for physical copy games, I think that can live in game consoles, but im also slowly moving towards digital on the game console.

tl;dr, I have a decent internet connection in my place so digital only for me, unlike the old days where im stuck at 2-5mbps speed.
  • i prefer digital download also if its below 10 usd...
  • nung kaunti pa lang ang collection ko, i preferred physical copies, lalo mga special or collectors editions.

nung dumami na, got rid of physical copies and replaced them with digital, havent looked back since.
