Globe LTE Users Thread (no piracy, torrent topics/hints)

It appears Globe LTE Band 8 (900 MHz) is already active in certain cell towers.
10Mhz*2 channel width which is roughly the same as Band1 and Band 3.

    pros and cons?
  • For those experiencing low quality on voice call while connected to 3G and 2G using TNT and TM sims, the reason for that is because these brands are the first to be deprioritized during network congestions. The brands with highest network priority are Smart Infinity and Globe Platinum. During network/tower congestions, the respective networks are designed to ensure the tower has enough bandwidth/channel to cater the voice calls of these brands in a higher voice quality as possible. This technique leads to deprioritization of voice calls initiated by prepaid sims. This is also applied to VoLTE calls but it is rare since the LTE network is IP based and is capable to handle more voice calls.
The hierarchy of network prioritization are:
    1. Globe Platinum and Smart Infinity
    2. Regular postpaid plans such as Smart Signature, Globe Gplan/The Plan ( includes business plans)
    3. Smart Prepaid and Globe Prepaid
    4. TNT and TM
Without 2G/3G tower congestion, all of these brands will get the same voice call quality. This is why VoWiFi is very important if you're using a prepaid sim as the calls will always be on a higher quality unless the other end is on 2G/3G or using other network(cross-carrier calling).

  • I encountered this lately
may agent dito sa amin ang babahaybahay stating na may globe fiber na daw then now ako naman sure so i gave my ID for migration kuno, then now they said na inistop daw ni globe ang LTE to FIBER migration and only catering new applications. sounds not right considering na gusto ni globe ma migrate from lte to fiber subs nila.

    any thoughts?

  • Hello.

Anyone here experiencing na kahit meron pang data available, walang naglload sa mga social media apps and kahit anong website sa google chrome. LTE nmn ung signal ko pero as in ni isa walang naglload. not sure anong hotline pwedeng tawagan si globe para mareport ung case ko.
  • kamusta na mga naka globe lte dyan? mukhang kumonti na lang mga nagamit ng globe lte @home, namigrate na ba karamihan sa fiber?, most of the users is mobile na lang & prepaid wifi modem using gomo sim
  • @Hamz

  • same PCI din ba yan boss? anong device ginamit mo?
  • Would you guys know if pwde sa mga Globe At Home Prepaid Wifi ung GOMO sim?

  • @Hamz

    Yup
  • @Rayster25

    Pwede
  • Baka need mo muna off sa cellphone mo yung setting in order to receive calls.

ok sana yung fiber/wired (1699 35mbps) kaso subdivisio kami
  • @iloveallgadgets

Now, ano masuggest nyo as an external antenna sa tv box?

wala ng ilalabas na new plan for globe wireless postpaid, force migration to fiber na if available sa location,

Walang speed cap as long 5G ang phone/modem kundi no data access also hindi rin kasama sa fair use policy unless detected by globe.

Though if you hit a certain usage in a day (let's say 40GB), you can be deprioritized as part ng network management. Mine went from QCI 8 to QCI 9. It's not a hard cap though. I can still reach ~400Mbps levels kaso it gets harder to reach yung ultra maximum speeds mo lalo na if may significant usage sa area mo. So let's for example na say prior deprioritization madaling maka-450Mbps, after being deprioritized yung usual nagiging peak is 400-420 and mas mahirap ma-reach yung 450Mbps peak.
  • So, Globe has upgraded their n41 5G sa mga nearby towers where I live. From 20Mhz eh naging 40Mhz.

    Speed:
    20MHz n41 5G: 80-150Mbps average, 220Mbps peak
    40MHz n41 5G: 150-300Mbps average, 500Mbps peak

I've also started detected n78 60MHz ng Globe here kaso weak pa so baka dun pa lang sa medyo malayong tower.

Globe n41 5G here finally beats Smart's 60MHz n41 5G as well as Globe's own B1+B3+B28 LTE-Advanced even with only 40MHz channel size. Not surprising since Globe's B1+B3+B28 LTE-Advanced network here has no trouble hitting 250-300Mbps. NGL, I'm excited for n78's deployment here and how far better it will perform.
