PLDT bridge-mode modem settings

  • Hi all, I bought a CNET CAR2-801 ADSL2/2+ Router today from CDR-King.
    <click here for link>
It works fine in DHCP mode but I can't get it to work in bridge mode. I already have a router so I just want this to act as a modem. Can anyone help me with the settings?
  • nagawa ko sa bridge mode gumana naman but pag na off ko yung unit and on ulit nawawala yung settings ko back to default.
  • New connection then pinili ko yung bridge mode then sa v=0 vci=100. Try ko later sa save settings.

Hmm, natry ko na 'yun e. Dinisable mo ba yung DHCP sa LAN config?
  • ginawa ko lang restore to factory default then gumawa ako new connection name PLDT under bridge mode V=0 vci=100 the problem is pag nag power cycle ayaw na.
  • Ahhh... so hindi factory default pag binili. Sige try ko yan.
  • yes pag buy ko naka setup sa globenet yata. ang hindi ko ma solve pag nag power cycle hindi na gumagana yung router ko uulitin ko ulit yung restore to default and make new connection.
  • Wala akong CNET CAR2-801 modem. Pero gamit ko Encore ADSL2 modem from CDRK.

Sa PLDT here are my settings.

Select a virtual circuit and enable it.

    For that VC,

    1. VPI/VCI settings are 0/100

    2. Encapsulation is RFC1483 LLC.

    3. Disable the DHCP server sa LAN side.

You might also need to set the ADSL modulation to G.DMT kung hirap maka-obtain ang router ng public IP address from PLDT.

Saving settings to flash memory might be an issue with the CNET modem.
  • Ito pala yung pag-save ng settings:

    Tools->System Commands->Save All
  • ^ napagana mo na yun bridge mode?
  • Di pa, nasa trabaho pa ko. Pero meron nga pala akong PDF manual.
  • ok feedback mo na lang ako kung napagana mo na. yun sa akin pag nag power cycle hindi na gumagana maski naka save yung settings. uulitin ko yung restore to default and make new connection.
  • @jcmpix nakita ko settings mo tama naman pero before gagana yan dapat reset mo to factory default then make a new connection under bridge mode. Ang problem ko pag nag power cycle hindi na working yung router uulitin ko ulit yung setup.
  • Naka-double NAT ako ngayon, ok naman. Pinag-iisipan ko kung gusto ko pang i-bridge mode. Thanks for all the help, though. Post ko dito kung itry ko ulit.
  • @jcmpix

Much better kung naka bridge mode lang ang Modem to reduce CPU and memory utilization.
Ayaw kasi natin maging bottleneck yung DSL modem and also if ever you want to host game server or FTP mahirap gawin sa double nat.

Yup, that's a good point. Napansin ko medyo mainit yung modem, baka pag nag-bridge lumamig-lamig konti. Yun nga lang ang priority right now is magka-Internet. Might fiddle with it again tonight pag wala nang gumagamit.
  • I guess one good perk of plan 999 onwards is libre lang yung modem without any additional lockin.
  • Tried this again after more than a year, okay na. Don\'t know what went wrong the first time.
  • hi guys,

can i ask for some help.

i changed the PLDT DSL-Modem Router into a Bridge which i connect my personal router to. My question is that, how can i now access the settings of the PLDT DSL-Modem router?

    the model is a ProlinkH5004N

    Thanks!
  • Same question katulad kay chrisang. How do we access the ONU after configuring it to Bridge Mode?? Bumaba kasi yung speed namin nung sinet ko to Bridge mode. From 100mbps to 20mbps :/
  • @chrisang and dannielileto

Ndi nyo ma maaccess yung pldt settings kasi naging Public IP na yung pldt modem-router nyo! Reset nlang solution pra bumalik yun

@dannielileto na try nyo ba i connect yun thru lan?? Kpag naconnect nyo thru lan tpus 100mbps speed! Yung problem nyo yung router settings na bnilli nyo, bka nakalimit yung router nyo na up to 20mbps lang
  • well for me you can still access your ONU admin web page kahit naka bridge mode na, but why would you need it anyway kung naka bridge mode naman na. There's no information you need there since hindi naman katulad yan ng DSL na there might be sometimes you need to check your profile speed and as well as your line condition.

well anyway, to access it just set a static ip on network card under 192.168.1.0/24 subnet (eg, 192.168.1.2 / 255.255.255.0) while youre ONU/modem is directly connected to your computer.

3rd party firmware routers like DDWRT, OpenWRT and Tomato had an option to enable admin access to your modem while youre connected to your main router.
