naka invi/cloak na din yung blood ng predator. parang dati kita naman yung blood kahit invi mode.
  • Prey

    3/5

Enjoy naman kahit papano in which i didnt expect. Ang kulet lang kase though it was set in the 1700s, yung mga actors facial expressions, conversations, body language etc. is too millenial-ish

    meeh... bat ganun?
  • Prey

Though I was entertained the whole time, I couldn't avoid thinking the whole mythos of Predator including the code or principle of this warrior or hunter race, kinda illogical. I mean it is hard to fathom that a highly advanced race is out there using the most advanced weaponry to hunt weak creatures. We've been taught that these warriors have a code but I cant seem to reconcile that they are hunting weaker preys. In the film where it faced off with a wolf, and using a cloaking device to beat its opponent, it was hard to appreciate that these creatures have code or principles. And because predator is a film that still showcases the theme bad guys cant beat good guys, it's expected that the predator gets beaten in the end despite the creature being highly skilled and using advanced weaponry making the narrative somewhat nonsensical and illogical.

  • Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie

    One word: IMPRESSIVE!

Didn't expect the film to come out good. It started strong and ended stronger. I like that it wasn't thrown off by its goofy sketches and humor. It was perfectly balanced. I like that the narrative was geared towards adult audiences. I like how it was dark from the start and remained serious towards the end. It somehow made me wish that one franchise from my childhood days which is Power Rangers would adopt this direction coz that show has all the potential to be this kind of film. Anyway I could easily give this film a perfect score. Now I want to watch the series coz it got me curious as to when the turtles started using mystic arts and weapons.

  • Maid in Malacañang

  • 13 Lives

How come nobody is mentioning this in the thread?

The film is about the incredible rescue mission of the 13 boys trapped in a cave in Thailand. This was a global phenomenon but I wasn't really that invested when the story garnered international attention and so watching the film felt like I had first hand knowledge of the event since I didn't know the details that rescuers had to go through while trying to rescue the boys (well except for that one event that I remember involving the Thai Navy Seal).

Anyway, I had no expectations at all except that I saw the trailer one time and I had to cut it coz something was telling me it's a good film to watch and I must not get spoiled by the trailer. And indeed the film turned out great. I mean it wasnt just great, it was moving as well. I remember watching The Impossible (a film about the tsunami that swept Indonesia) and I had similar feeling watching 13 Lives. It was heart wrenching at some point, you can almost feel the distress and hopelessness of the rescue divers. Viggo Mortensen played one of the rescue divers and he had this aura that was in contrast to the character that Colin Farell was displaying the whole time. So that was an incredible chemistry in my opinion. Also there was one detail that I didnt know about the actual rescue and it made the moment somewhat gripping because it was kinda dangerous and scary if you think about it.

So all in all, this was an amazing film. Better to avoid reading details online. But if there's one thing that will convince you to watch this movie, it's that the film is directed by no other than RON HOWARD.
