for me dalawa lang ang solusyon ng traffic sa maynila...
una ay to decongest... meaning to develop other big cities outside metro manila para hindi na magpuntahan ang mga tao sa ncr... and make the salaries comparable... tanggalin ang provincial rate.. kaya nga ung officemate ko, pinilit nya uwian to lipa kasi hindi comparable ang sweldo, to think the expenses are almost the same din sa province... kaya madaming tao sa maynila because andun ang trabaho.. dun malaki ang sweldo... meron bang ibang option? wala.. sa maynila lang.. other cities like cebu, davao, subic, etc should be developed to compete with manila... once that happens, baka pati mga taga maynila lumipat na din.
pangalawa is world class public transpo... ang sabi nga, makikita mo na maunlad ang siudad hindi dahil sa lahat nakakotse, kundi yung mga nakakotse, mas gustong magbus, magmrt, magtrain... nung nasa pinas ako, kahit matrapik mas gusto kong magdrive.. kasi mas mahirap pa magbus or mrt.. delikado pa... ngayong andito na ako sa montreal, public transpo lang ako to commute sa work.. ang kotse is for weekends lang kasi mas relax pa na mag bus at mrt... hindi ka makikipagsiksikan, hindi ka pipila ng pagkahabahaba at higit sa lahat safe..
so basically, dapat ang pagtuunan is yung long term solution.. gusto ng tao is comfort, kung mas madali kumuha ng trabaho sa provinsya/city nya, bat sya aalis? kung mas madali magmrt at bus, bat sya magdadrive? yung mga suggestion na pataasin ang downpayment ng bagong kotse, i-ban ang old cars, isang sasakyan kada pamilya, number coding, etc.. -- lahat yan puro band aid solutions.. ang tao, gagawa ng work around sa mga solutions na yan... then pag alam na ng lahat yung work around, balik sa original problem..
Like with the other TPC members, I also agree with akosiempoy
Let us hope that the new President and his appointees will be able to deliver on all of their promises. Of course, we also need to participate by following the law
I used to ride the MRT3 line everyday but I gave up on it.
1. Buses should be government owned and operated para di nagaagawan ng pasahero. Kung kaya pati jeep or better yet e-jeep, all the more ok.

3. Congestion problem as pointed out. ^
1. - Not feasible except in a communist country
2. Hoverboards, bikes, segways or other personal electronic transports should be the only allowed machines in certain areas like offices... we have to minimize the parking areas...
bus capacity : 60 person
jeep capacity : 20 person
ilang car , jeep para maisakay pasahero na 600k
600k / 60 = 10k bus and need to accommodate passenger at saan natin padadaanin 10k bus?
I just had an interesting conversation with a pissed-off Grab car driver (andaming nalugi nung nag P200 discount promo last week).
He's claiming that the sudden surge of traffic problems was triggered by the breakdown problems of MRT-3, thus passengers wanted an alternate way to get to work (na naka aircon).
Thus, biglang nag boom ang colorum UVs, Uber at Grab, andaming nag invest in a new car/AUV/van to earn 2K-4K a day.
I think it makes sense, in a supply and demand situation, we ourselves triggered the traffic nightmare.
Solution? Buy motorbikes for you, your spouse, and Sr.HS kids.
1. I-develop ang rural areas
Nagsisiksikan sa MM kasi andun ang trabaho.
2. Fvck provincial rate.
same reason above
3. Abolish stupid coding system
We are advancing another proposal: the building of a “parking city” at each road entrance to the Metro. We envision these parking building complexes on two or more hectares of land, three floors down and three floors (or more) up, with sprawling exterior parking lots and other features to accommodate hundreds, nay, thousands of private vehicles for a moderate fee.
Car owners and their passengers will be ferried by shuttle buses to their destinations in Pasay, Manila, Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasig, Quezon City and other Metro cities. Hours will be assigned for transport back to the different parking cities where their cars have been parked for the day.
These parking cities will host stores, restaurants and other business establishments that will employ hundreds of jobless Filipinos who will contribute to the economic welfare of the country. If 5,000 to 10,000 cars are kept from busy routes like Edsa every day, traffic in the Metro will ease up and travel will be more bearable.
now from this the reason "mabagal kasi yung nasa harap na sasakyan eh" arises.
Please note, I am not a professional regarding this matter. Please, no bashing.

Tama ka dyan paps. Kahit sobrang galing mo magdrive kung walang proper maintenance pwede madisgrasya or makadisgrasya.

not to bash bro, but big trucks simply move slower in traffic not because of poor maintenance but for safety. they need to allocate a safe distance in front of them because big vehicles like those are not as easy to stop when it gets moving - that's for new and old 10+ wheel trucks. with regards to heavy traffic, yes they contribute a lot... but they need to ply our major roads(c5,edsa,c3,etc..) so that goods can be delivered from north to south and vice versa.. this is vital to the economy and just outright banning them will be a disaster.. for me the best solution for this is the development of the railway system.. not just for public transport but for delivery of goods from north <> south. with this, not only it will help ease the traffic but it will be greener and faster. and with that, only local delivery trucks should the only one allowed in the metro.
poor infrastructure planning. Each department/agency and LGU makes their own plans without coordinating with each other. Basta lang may magawa without thinking long term.

yep. I understand that. ang tinutukoy ko lang po ay yung mga overloaded and poorly maintained trucks. sorry hindi malinaw ang pagkakasabi.
To add regarding poor urban planning. Dito sa Pinas, parang puro subdivision kalat kalat at hindi rin maayos in the long run.
3. word on the street is that malls can "lobby" daw where the train station should terminate (the closer to them, the better?) anong kagagauhan to?
Maybe gawa sila ng Traffic reduction Act or law...
Objectives
1. Encourage use of small personal transports by subsidies
2. Create Infra for personal transports (hoverboards, bikes, mopeds, ebikes, segways, velocipedes, velomobiles, etc.) speed limit at 40 KPH, Create park cities
4. Forced work at home via Good IT infra
5. Force Telco's to improve it services and INFRA (good that PRRD is threatening these bastards)
6. Relocate non I-T companies to the provinces.
7. Subsidize Carbon Fiber materials and polymers and let TESDA teach carbon fiber moulding techniques - Para maencourage ang paggawa ng CF transports na magaan dalhin para kaya bibitin kahit bata ang bubuhat.. say... folding bike.
==================
Madaming pwedeng gawin ngayon lalo nat may political will ang presidente.
