Globe@Home GFiber Broadband Thread

Kaya in terms of connection laging mauuna yung data na pinaka malapit which is si Youtube vs other service (Games, Download, etc).

Hate to be that guy pero ang option na maibibigay ko na best for your needs eh get a cheap router with Tomato or Padavan support. Meron silang QoS customization na you can tailor for your needs. Kaso ma trabaho sya. Need patience kasi most of the time ka mag trial and error.
    Or
Get a cheap router na may support of OpenWRT.

Eto recommend ko na bang for buck router:
Padavan Support: 2.4G WiFi ONLY: Asus RT-N12+ (P1k-1.4k). DUAL BAND AC WIFI: ASUS RT-AC53(P2.6k-3.0k). OR XIAOMI MI ROUTER 3G or 4 (P1.8k-2.4k)
OpenWRT: Support 2.4G WIFI ONLY: Linksys E1200 (also tomato, dd-wrt)(P1.5k-1.8k). DUAL BAND AC: TP-Link C60 AC1350. (P3.0k-3.4k) or XIAOMI MI ROUTER 3G or 4 (P1.8k-2.4k)

Mga premium routers of like Asus, Netgear, DLink, Linksys, TP-Link have fast CPU na di na kayang kaya mag load balance kahit wala munang QoS. Pero with basic need eh I guess cheap router with 3rd party firmware support will do.
May QoS yung Globe modem. Kaso it's not good and very slow na pag may mag open lang ng google website your ping will spike...

  • ^Hmmm... kaya pala kc I returned from just the globe modem after using Xiaomi mi. Ramdam agad pag may nag YouTube and I'm watching thru online streaming stick. Sa Xiaomi di nagbabagal yung activity ko.
  • @all

I'm having packet loss problems with my external router na nakakabit sa Globe HG630 Modem.

    Globe HG630 Modem:
    1. Disabled DHCP
    2. Enabled DMZ for External Router Static IP Address

    External Router:
    1. Enabled DHCP

  • Anyone on Globe's Plan 2899 with unlimited 100Mbps Fiber? How is the service? Do you get 100Mbps 29 out of a 30 day month?

Are you able to stream Netflix in 4K to your TV?

  • @hellbert
Okay naman so far, we first availed for Plan 2499 100mbps with 1TB data cap per month, and we were satisfied with the service we got so nagpa upgrade kami last year to 2899.

We get 150mbps speeds instead of 100 for some reason, if I remember correctly the working theory a few months ago was that Globe was slowly upgrading their plans and infrastructure, pero wala pa rin official announcement until now. I can't guarantee you'll also get the same, I'm just sharing my experience.

I'd say 99.9% of the time there are no problems whatsoever sa connection, but that probably depends on your area. The only times I remember having slow or no connection are (unannounced) maintenance days or a widespread system issue affecting the entire area, and it usually gets fixed in a day or two. May mga times rin pala na mabagal for no reason, but it only takes one call to customer support and it gets resolved after they refresh the connection from their side.

One night our modem died, I reported it right away to customer support and the tech team were already at our front gate by 9:30am the next day.

  • @lost_stereo salamat sa feedback.

Are you able to stream Netflix in 4K to your TV?

Do you play online games? How is the latency?

I think you are right about testing the network for a future upgrade when PLDT decides to double their sub's bandwidth.

Other reasons why Globe did unannounced upgrades is that they can reduce bandwidth at any given time without hard legal deterrents.

Globe may have excess bandwidth capacity in your neighborhood so as a marketing tool to prevent their current subs to ever think of switching they increased your speed.

I'm paying 2899/month for unlimited 50Mbps with PLDT and the thought of 150Mbps at the same price is wonderful but to be honest I'd be happy with paying less than 1500/month for 50Mbps.

  • Hi,

Planning to change my current provider and really considering globe fiber since it's still new in my village.

    Thanks!

Pa dagdag. Plan 2499 50mps unli. I'll assume same service level ng 50 and 100 plans.

    1. Yes. Amazon Prime as well although the first few seconds will be 360p.
    2. Games I have tested:
    Heroes of the Storm: (SG)20-40ms. WoW West: 170-190ms. WoW East: 200-220ms. Overwatch Americas(SG): 45-80ms; Asia(KR): 80-100ms. PUBG (SG-region locked): 280-400ms (may good route naman ping would be 50-80ms). BFV SG: 20-40ms; JP: 40-50ms; EU: 240ms; Firestorm(SG): 30-40ms. R6-Siege: SG: 1-30ms; East Asia(HK): 1ms-20ms. Dota 2 SG: 30-70ms.
No packet loss naman so walang rubber banding/stutter delay lang sa likes ni PUBG which uses IBM's SoftLayer datacenter na pangit ata routing ng Globe.

Bonus: Discord: SG-60-340ms, HK: 10-50ms, JP: 50-80ms. High latency sa SG since same server sila ni PUBG (dati Google gamit ni Discord) SoftLayer. Pero kahit high latency they still hear my loud and clear.. Unlike my friend who's PLDT na sometimes cut off sya kahit 60ms sya sa SG.

  • Advance ba talaga maningil tong Globe? Pati June 2019 sinisingil na agad.

  • ganon talaga kasi next cut-off ka pa nila ibi-bill ulit syempre kelangan mo bayaran yung period before that.
  • @ccl2003

    Salamat.

  • Also papaano kaya ma-cancel yung HOOQ?
  • ^ Fiberhome black box with small Globe logo on upper left corner.
  • @eaforlife thank you for reply. Does it have the stencil of the NAP Cabinet number?
  • Yes There is in huge white block text:
    Like here is ours

    LSP_XXX
    LXXX
    NXX

    Where X is number.
Might be different if the facility is not FiberHome. Like Huawei for example. No idea.

Yung kahit 100mbps plan no need for proof of financial. Dati 1899 plan below no need for bank cert.

So far can't complain. May 1 time nag down internet/slow. Sabi area outage daw kasi di kaya ng Makati Exchange yung lines for higher plan??.

White.

    @qwerty88
You can basta naka static public IP ka. Included for free dati ito for early 2017 Globe fiber subscribers.
All new subscribers 2018 and up naka private IP (CGNAT) na.

  • https://mybusiness.globe.com.ph/broadband/

Unmentioned is that all the plans have dynamic IP address.

If you need official receipt for BIR then these are the plans to get.

Same price as Globe at Home Fiber

    1. Yes. There are guides dito sa forum or since same sila ng GUI same process with minimal difference between modems.
    2. They don't support it. I am assuming if you are on a business plan where they support bridge mode they'll instead send their field technician.
  • this might be another unofficial speedbump, in addition to the additional 50% previously. or it might be due to the cut undersea cable reported this morning. in any case, many subs have reported experiencing the same boost to their speed (regardless of plan type). here's our plan1899 @ 50Mbps just a few minutes ago:

  • ^ I hope I get that too :)
