Globe@Home GFiber Broadband Thread

  • ^ 4k+ to almost 13k? Are you still under lock-in?

  • Hello - really need the help of the experts here. I am trying to bridge a Globe HG6245D modem to my Asus AX XT8 router. Can anyone point me to a handy guide I can follow? I have ipv6

  • Hello - Guys anyone here near Sta. Mesa who has globe fiber? how is the connection? the upload and download speed? I'm looking forward to replace my Skybroadband with Fiber optics.
  • ^depende, from what I looked so far

VDSL = you get the subscribed download speed but the upload speed is cut half of your download speed. (eg, 25mbps download, 10mbps upload)

Fiber = you get the subscribed download and upload speed. (eg plan 1699 25mbps download and 25 upload speed)

unfortunately, VDSL for them is still considered a fiber for them. so kung kakabitan ka ng VDSL lang, ipa cancel mo na agad yung installation nila ng linya.
  • ^Unfortunately half lang ng download speeds yung nakukuha kong upload speeds, a month after I had my Globe fiber plan installed
  • Anybody in Manila who has their IPV6 working? Mga 2 weeks nang "dialup failed" yun ipv6 ko. Dati gumagana naman.
  • Hello po.

Nagpa-upgrade ako recently plan from 1899 to 2199. Naabot naman 'yung full speed (up to 60 mbps), kaya lang medyo inconsistent at kapag medyo nalayo ka sa router mga half speed na lang ang nasasagap.

Router issue po kaya? We have the Huawei HG8245H (no 5ghz capbility).

Better get a 3rd party AC or AX router.

sulit wifi nya 2.4 at 5Ghz
mag e-mail lng sau kpag approved na request mo at ideliver sau ng ENTREGO...
2 to 3weeks bago ma deliver sau

kumuha ka ng mesh kit, pwede na yung Deco E4 sayo since under 100mbps or slower naman plan mo. just place the deco unit strategically kung saan malakas yung 5ghz (or better yet if you can interconnect them via wired connection, please do) so you can get the most out of your internet speed plan.

unfortunately, a ONU/ONT replacement with a new one will not fix your issue. your basically limited to what so we called physics.

  • Anyone LOS bacoor/cavite area?

My nephew-in-law is asking for suggestions po sana kung anong budget-friendly but sulit gaming routers na pwede namin magamit? Meron po kayang mabibili around 5k price? Although maganda ang globe sa area ko, for some reason, nire-reklamo niya na lag daw.

Thanks in advance po sa magre-reply.
  • guy anu pinaka ok na wifi 6 router?

    Redmi AX5 2,100
    Redmi AX6 2,900
    Huawei AX3 Pro 3,500
  • Redmi AX5 2,100
    Redmi AX6 2,900
    Huawei AX3 Pro 3,500

Kinakabahaan ako sa Huawei AX3 Pro. 24W power requirement nya, same with Redmi AX6. Although 7nm naman yung main chipset nya, compared kay Redmi AX6 na 14nm... 24W is still a heat source that needs to be expelled.

In any case, I would choose get two Redmi AX5 and meshed them together.
  • Starting to lose my patience with Globe fiber. Every night laging hirap kumonek sa work sites namin kahit ok ang ping. Even Gmail and Google Sheets nagloloko.

For 5K, I would get Asus RT-AX55 na. Then bridge it.
Or I'll get two Xiaomi AX routers that I can meshed together and create a solid WiFi sphere sa house.
  • @emibook

Salamat sir. Probably, sa Asus RT-AX55 na ako. Lagpas lang ng konti sa 5k ang presyo. But based on reviews, mukhang maganda siya. No need na po kasi sa meshed wifi for our globe fiber since iisang tao lang ang gumagamit ng connection na ito (our primary ISP is still converge pa rin, yun ang naka-mesh setup).
  • ill probably go with Xiaomi, given how beefy the internal specs are.

    Broadcoms (asus) vs Qualcomm (xiaomi)

of course ill go qualcomm at least that guarantees the compatibility of the majority of wireless chipset in mobile devices. broadcom, well most of the time it should work but if you have some wifi random disconnection issues while wired is fine, you can blame the router for that.
  • @polka

Either iphone or laptop.
First, I thought it was my old router that is having the issue. Modem (HG8245H) to router (tplink archer C60). Successful nman connection nito thru ppoe. Problem is, the internet gets to drop from time to time on some devices - minsan yung laptop o kya mobile phone.
After all the resets sa router, changing local ip addresses, adding DNS kasi bka dun nag ddrop , ganun pa rin ang issue. I decided router ang problema, mga 5 years na rin kasi tapos umaabot 99% lagi memory ng c60. Yung office naming nag bigay kapalit archer c3150.
Same issue and the router is brandnew. Kahit bawal nga gamitin ang Huawei modem (company policy) I decided to remove the bridge mode, manually plugged sa globe modem, changed the 1st connection to from bridge to route wan
Yung 3rd connection, dinisable ko lang. After I reboot connected na. After ko ikabit router, on dynamic IP router mode only, same issue.
Please help. I’m losing hope where else to get help during this pandemic.
    Thank you in advance.

  • @Aaron

AX3600 you can get that model for around 4.5k but usually around 5k yang router na yan.

    @ritchy

well, parang may issue yung network nyo regarding doon sa memory usage ng router mo. try using pfsense and with 2gb of ram. usually that thing can handle thousand concurrent connections just fine so you should not see the same memory full issue sa compared to cheap consumer routers.

with pfsense you can see who's computer/device is the culprit whos hogging the network, you can see it by querying each IP address how many concurrent connections it had. for normal sane people it should be around 10-200 concurrent connection, for insane people lalo na kung nag totorrent sila you will see this in thousands.

  • Kahit bawal nga gamitin ang Huawei modem (company policy) I decided to remove the bridge mode

Last year pa yon. LOL

I'll stick with a bridge mode with a decent router. If may issue pa rin, I would:

    1) Factory Reset my Modem and Router -- Provided that I know the following:
    (Samples only)
    1. Internet VLAN ID : 1234
    2. PPPoE Username : [email protected]
    3. PPPoE Password: secret123
    (for plans with landline)
    4. Voice VLAN ID : 4321
    5. VoIP Username : [email protected]
    6. VoIP Password : secret456
    7. Telephone Number : +63123456789
    8. First Register Server : vims.globe.com.ph - Port 5060
    9. First Proxy Server : 10.x.x.x - Port 5060
    10. Outbound Proxy Server : 10.x.x.x - Port 5060

    2) Update the firmware of my 3rd party router

    3) Change the channels of my 2.4GHz WiFi to a lesser constricted channels (use WiFi Analyzer android apps only, no iOS, sorry)

oh, if your talking about theyre press release about not using Huawei equipment, that only applies on their mobile network.
  • @polka

i think so too sir, its like 3 years old and bought it at 1.8k. Archer C60 served me well enough before the pandemic.

How about the C3150 sir? Is this not good enough for the heavy usage of a 3 people household who works at home? We have 3 laptops and pc. 6 mobile devices, includes phone and the ipad, a smart tv. We are heavy on zoom since this is our mode of communication to the outside world.
The router was purchased at less than 10k just a week ago by out "IT" kuno sa office. I can't find how much ram this router has, but I guess if the price can be that expensive, then I guess it should accomodate us di po ba?

    https://villman.com/Product-Detail/TP-Link_Archer_C3150
Is it the globe's settings that is messed up?

    ===============

    @emilbook
Actually sir I don't, all the tech said was the Username/Password and VLAN. Landline is still connected with Huawei HG8245H
    >> I'll stick with a bridge mode with a decent router.
    - question po, other than hiding Huawei from our client on bridge mode, is there anything else for the non-techy like us to stay with bridge mode?
As for the WiFi Analyzer, I guess I won't be able to interpret whats in it. :)
Microwave ? Well malayo naman Wifi, and maybe 10 times magpa init ng kape sa araw, never naman naputol internet.

All I want is what I had before the tech changed the settings to bridge mode on Huawei HG8245H. Pag kabit ng router, lahat may internet. Pag mawalan internet, lahat wala. Hindi po yung sisigaw nlang bigla ipad no internet.

Please help. Desperate boy in QC that needs a lil peace and quiet on his network.

  • Alright, let's isolate possible source of issues :)
    1) Fiber Cable Line
    2) ISP Modem
    3) LAN Cable
    4) Company issued Router
    5) Lan Cable
    6) Laptop
    7) OS
    8) User

    1) Fiber Line - Can you share screenshot of the Optical Information from Huawei?

    2) Modem - skip muna

    3) LAN Cable - do you have other LAN Cables. Common issue sa LAN cables is corroded contacts. Don't try to clean them, just get a new one. Preferable CAT6 lang. Ask your IT dept for LAN cables, marami yan sila.

Di kaya may VPN yang router? Or may custom settings sila?

    5) LAN Cable - from router to your Laptop. Same with #3.

    6) Laptop - skip muna

    7) OS - skip rin

Yan lang muna tingin kong possible issue that you need to isolate.
  • 1) Fiber Cable Line - eto yung green line po? this is technically new, was changed last january (kinagat kagat ng pusa ko)

    2) ISP Modem - Huawei EchoLife HG8245H (modem installed 2019 i guess when upgraded to globe fiber - weak wifi kya may router)

    3) LAN Cable - no cuts, checked and replaced by IT, less than 3M ( wala po kami IT dept, 1 guy lang. 15 lang kmi sa office )

    4) Company issued Router - :Archer C3150 v2

Di kaya may VPN yang router? Or may custom settings sila?

-Dinala niya po dati galing Gilmore brandnew, i dont think meron, and again for work vpn is web based which we rarely use unless uploading confidential files)

    5) Lan Cable - no lan cable used on laptops / desktop
    6) Laptop

    Device name LAPTOP-G16P0Q7G
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz 1.50 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
    Device ID 828C5757-2C58-4CD4-BE46-46E2342E2414
    Product ID 00342-41406-94342-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

pareho lang kmi 3, yung vpn ng who web based lang no app

    7) OS
Edition Windows 10 Home Single Language
    Version 20H2
    Installed on ?16/?03/?2021
    OS build 19042.928
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

    8) User (dati sa office Computer1-20 ang user (tama po ba pagka intindi ko) now just my name. Newly purchased kasi bumagal lahat nung dell

    1) Fiber Line - Can you share screenshot of the Optical Information from Huawei?

    https://ibb.co/gZY7JWq

(sorry di ko po alam mag embed)

    2) Modem - skip muna
    5) LAN Cable - from router to your Laptop. Same with #3. we dont use lan hassle

    6) Laptop - skip muna -

*yung pc ko nman rarely used, its a veriton small factor, nothing special. i just use it when i need a 2 big screens for contact tracing

Ever since this was bridged, and honestly we paid the tech to do it, kasi di alam ng IT namin. and our HQ is complaining about huawei, mga kano dami ayaw.

Everyday the internet drops randomly on one of us. Either on the laptop or iphone, and I usually check if theres an IP assigned and there is, but no data is passing thru. Never had a problem before bridging.

Sorry for the very long post. And thank you sir for the time,

Addtional pics maybe it can help
