Globe@Home GFiber Broadband Thread

  • Daming nag loloko ngayong Timezone. Napunta lahat sa Vietnam mga Google.

Pati Time ng Fiberhome ko, advance ng 30min. Tsk tsk....

Sa mga walang 3rd party router, be sure to change your router's DNS in FiberHome. Somehow this solved the Vietnam timezone issue.
For Huawei, go to Advance Configuration >> Application >> Time Settings.
Disable the DST, and set correct timezone and NTP.

That is already expected po imho. Most modems have single core and 200-300Mhz CPU speeds so don't expect too much from it especially kung multiple devices ang naka-connect sa kanya.

hindi regular mesh lang BUT ALSO comes with Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access, or OFDMA, technology that enables the router to complete data transmission for eight devices in one transmission, as well as reduce network latency

Definitely. Consider your ONU as a cheap, entry level PC doing processing and multi-tasking. Kung gagamit ka ng Mesh system or just a single router with OFDMA masosolve yang concern mo. Ako hindi ako naka-bridge mode mas preferred ko kasi ang ganitong setup and I am just using a tp-link AX10 with OFDMA never na lumampas ng 10% ang cpu usage ng ONU ko. In my case hindi ko din need ng Mesh binigyan nga ako ni Globe ng free na 2 units nung nag-upgrade ako ng plan last year binenta ko din lang.

  • thanks sir last question haha

If mesh, would a Deco E4 be okay? it's the cheapest I can find but not sure if may OFDMA, nanghihinayang lang ako since hindi naman sobrang laki ng bahay namin, and sadyang kabilaang dulo lang ng bahay ako nagkakaproblem.

If router naman, any suggestion po? need ko lang po ng slightly wider range vs orig modem ni globe since abot naman talaga ng wifi yung area, sadyang ang bagal lang sa dulo ng bahay kahit nakaka connect naman, and siyempre yung masosolve po yung 100% usage.

Internet Connection po pala namin is avg of 36 dl/10 ul.

  • As I have said, ito gamit ko now 24/7 no lags, no signal drops.

    <click here for link>

    for VDSL/ Fiber?
Kasi based sa nababasa ko bumibili pa yung iba..
    Sori po not techie here..
Kasi if mag poprovide sila ng mas mgandang modem/ router
    mas satisfied customer nila..
    May reason po ba?
    Salamat
  • I installed 3CX PBX on my QNAP as a VM. Anybody know how to route the VOIP function of the Globe ONT to 3CX so when someone calls the landline, it rings on my 3CX softphone? Also vice-versa, use my 3CX softphone to call other landlines and cellphones? Thanks.

Plain and simple COSTS. You may be paying for the service and the installation but not for the hardware. ISP-provided modems are cheap probably costs 50-100 pesos per piece considering how many lots they're buying from manufacturers but still they're giving it to every single subscriber for free. If you're an ISP will you give away a modem worth 1-4k? Of course not because you would like to bring down the expenses while increasing profits. At the end of the day, it is still a business.
  • @KSolomon

Siyempre, mas ideal pa rin ang wired. Kaso lang, matrabaho ang pag-setup saka medyo messy with the cables and all.

So Deco E4it will do. Ganyan ang setup ko. Seamless dual band wifi talaga hanggang dulo ng bahay.
  • eto suggestion ko hehehe cheaper pero panalo kase i bought it a discount ... redmi ax6 with OFDMA.. <click here for link> budget meal baga...
  • sa printer ok na ang network printer i was able to install it in all my windows 10 clients.... now i am stucket with my android clients lol.... hindi supported ng canon ang printer ko sa android kahit canon sya... dami naman hurdles ng nag titipid sa printer lol hay.. kung una ginawa ko wireless printer na lang binili ko bawas sakit ng ulo lol... any sugggestion and i know OT(pagbigyan mo na ako chris aka CCL2003, mauubos ang buhok mo sa akin) na dito ang canon pixma ts207 to be used in android?... ok sana Noko print app kaso hindi listed ang printer kahit nakikita sya sa WAP as a printer<click here for link>.. same issue ko sa ras pi ko utilized as wireless AP rin kaso walang compatible drivers hindi ginawa ni canon drivers nya sa linus with armh but only for amd64 and i386 architecture.... hay... driver issue again both linux and now android hay....
  • @taba

Herman, natawa naman ako sa yo hahaha no problem so OT. Baka nga wireless printer ang sagot sa problem mo and just leave the Canon to your Windows clients.
  • Anyone else who experienced problems with their connection kahapon(may 1)?

Tried changing my dns and nag improve sya so it was probably an issue with globe's servers?
  • ^Ganyan experience ko a few days/weeks ago.

  • Na experience ko kagabi until now.
    Kumpleto nman ilaw modem.
Mabagal ang loading saka intermittent connection.
Sa gabi mdalas mangyari ung ganyan.
  • Hmmm...ano kaya ang problem with globe right now? Umulit nanaman yung intermittent connection...
  • No issues on my side. You guys may want to follow emilbook's suggestion on the top of this page regarding Time Settings. I did set my ONU's time server manually sa bahay to ntp.pagasa.dost.gov.ph.

Possible na dahil dyan nakaka-experience kayo ng issues kahit sa client ko na naka-1Gbps na plan pinalitan ko din time server now kasi hindi talaga naka-sync time pag naka-default lang sya.

according sa mga ISP na natanungan ko, usually their CPE routers cost around 2k pesos per unit. these units are for lease only except if you pay that outrigth 4.2k pesos (which is the price is just rigth for the total cost of the drop wire use, CPE and Phone unit). For the handset, yes that only cost them like 200-300 pesos per unit.

now dun sa nagtatanong bakit hindi mag provide yung ISP ng better spec CPE routers... well the thing is, that's the only models that is available that they can buy not to mention that not even the popular manufacturers like Tplink or Asus making a GPON routers, dun pa nga lang sa sales nila sa xDSL units nila is very limited lang eh yan pa kayang very restrictive GPON. they can do the terminal route which is they just put a external box outside your house and after that you can just use any router that accept RJ45 connection. Ganito usually setup for FTTx installation sa Australia, Canada and some portions in America. But ISP here choose to not go to this route since it just complicates the installation process at wala naman regulations regarding to this kind of setup unlike sa Australia with their National Broadband.

  • Guys, I need help. I have a Globe modem/router installed (HG8245H). I want to set it to bridge mode na nagagawa ko naman. Ang issue ko when I connect to my third party router sobrang bagal ng internet as in ang bagal! May internet naman siya kasi green naman yung LED light and I know it’s working kasi kapag hindi ako nag-bridge and just connect it as is, OK ang net ko.

Syempre sasabihin nila na mahal yan especially since on-lease na nga lang which means the subscriber will be using the router for as long as it is working. But I agree wala masyado options as far as CPE routers are concerned pero still hindi ako convinced na ganyan purchase cost ng mga ISP maybe 1k per unit possible pa.
