Globe@Home GFiber Broadband Thread

  • @svenzter
  • Hello guys, naka PLDT VDSL kami ngayon, though meron palang Globe Fiber sa area amin, as in naka fiber na talaga. 1 week na kasi yung upgrade request namin sa PLDT from 1699 to 2399, till now wala pa din silang resolution. Di naman kami nag i-insist na maging FTTH connection namin sa PLDT kasi aware ako na VDSL lang talaga ang available as of now. Ang gusto lang talaga namin ma configure kami to a higher plan.

    Thanks

It must tell you something about PLDT's priorities.

  • @mon_jumbo

Actually tinest ko rin ‘to e. Naglagay ako maling pw and wala ako net and then dun sa tamang pw mabagal talaga. Haay pano kaya ito…
  • hello po, napansin ko po after upgrading from vdsl to fiber connection ng globe mashumina yung signal ng internet namin at dumami na ang deadspots sa bahay namin. Ask ko lang po would buying a 3rd party router solve this issue? Ang plan po namin is 25 mbps unli plan globe fiber
  • kasi kapag hindi ako nag-bridge and just connect it as is, OK ang net ko.

    Same here

Sa akin, I have to factory reset my 3rd party router minsan just to make it work, sometimes. I'm using Xiaomi. What's your 3rd party router?
  • @emilbook

    I’m using TP-Link AX20

+1 to this. It could solve your issues ganyan naging problem ko before sa TP-Link load balancing router ng client ko nun unang sinetup ko bridge mode hindi maka-internet laptop ko mismo yun ibang workstations nun tinest ko meron net pero mabagal. Nag-factory reset ako ng load balancing router and okay naman na connection mag-2 years na stable naman paminsan need on and off ONU pero very rare naman.
  • @ccl2003

Hmm sige. Try ko gawin ‘to later.
Haaay…
  • Ok. Now I know what the problem is. Mali nga yung password ng PPOE ko. I tried inputting different passwords and nagkaka-“internet” nga ako pero mabagal. Haaay… now how to get in touch with Globe… ang hirap nila ma-contact.

  • sucessfully registered my GPON stick to Huawei's OLT, it requires some LOID, SN and password to pass, I also cloned the WAN MAC address of the GPON ONT just to be sure.

Globe with direct fiber to my pfsense router, im also getting above 500mbps for some odd reason, it tops to near gigabit speed 860mbit down 700mbit up. thanks i guess...
  • Herman, natawa naman ako sa yo hahaha no problem so OT. Baka nga wireless printer ang sagot sa problem mo and just leave the Canon to your Windows clients.
@ccl2003 problem nga kutos galing kay misis na ito kung wireless printer ang binili ko in the first place walng ganitong issue lol para lang makltipid a feww hundreds of pesoses kse barat ayan lol
  • No issues on my side. You guys may want to follow emilbook's suggestion on the top of this page regarding Time Settings. I did set my ONU's time server manually sa bahay to ntp.pagasa.dost.gov.ph.
  • @taba

You can only change time settings by logging in using administrator.

Sa ADVANCED tab, under APPLICATION.

Recently nag upgrade kami ng plan 1899 30mbps VDSL to Fiber 50mbps. Nung nag-bridge ako, bumalik sa 30mbps. Salamat po in advance!
  • @dyingdendrites

Baka yung old QoS mo naka setup pa sa dating speed nyo.

Yes. You can even use an IP Phone.
  • Yes. You can even use an IP Phone.

    How do you do this?
  • @cedie

ZISA brand. <click here for link>

very hard to find, maswerte lang na snipe ko sa ebay (international) medyo mahal, nasa 5kish bili ko hindi pa kasama yung 1.5k shipping fee dyan.

meron web interface which you can set everything there, very similar sya sa web interface ng CDRKING routers.

edit: note lang sa previous post, you just only need to clone the serial number ng ONU mo and it should work (O5 status), though only tested on Huawei OLT, not sure with fiberhome.

  • @polka

  • its probably the same, malakas naman talaga uminit kahit anong SFP modules. hindi na bago yan. though ive been using this for 2 years now gamit ko pa sa PLDT and its still going strong so... yeah.

also hindi gagana yung ibang GPON modules ng mikrotik sa mga ISP due to reason na hindi mo ma edit yung mga serial number nila, my quick google search, still the same parin. meron din ako GPON ONU na galing kay Ubiquiti, that one can change serial number pero super dodgy since you need to edit it directly from eeprom ng device which I did and works but very not practical for most people.

Primary is IPV4, secondary is IPV6?

Pansin ko kase bumagal ibang sites and apps since enabling IPV6.

Sa akin nun nag-try ako dati to enable ipv6 for a few days yan din napansin ko bumagal ibang sites and nagkaka-problem ako sa mobile apps that require GPS. I changed the default DNS to both Google and Cloudflare ipv6 DNS ganon pa din until I ended up disabling ipv6 on my ONU na lang.
  • Don't use Google/Cloudflare IPv6 DNS. May issue pa rin Globe sa Google/Cloudflare IPv6 DNS.

    Use only OpenDNS IPv6:
    2620:119:35::35
    2620:119:53::53

Sa IPv4 naman, you can use either of the three Google/Cloudflare/OpenDNS.

So far wala naman akong issue sa IPv6. Naka bridge yung modem ko.
  • Primary is IPV4, secondary is IPV6?
Di. Sa ibang page mo ilalagay yung IPv6 DNS.

Bali may Primary and Secondary IPv4, at meron din Pri and Sec sa IPv6 DNS.

As you can see here, may issue pa rin Google and Cloudflare, pero yung OpenDNS, tuluy-tuloy lang.
