I'm not sure dahil sa PLDT kasi kailangan i-terminate if you wish to upgrade while locked in a contract. Meron nag sabi sa akin na hindi daw ganito sa Globe and at any given time ka pwede mag upgrade or downgrade daw, pero clarify mo nalang ulit. Hindi ko din kasi sure after reading your comment kung may katotohanan nga ba 'yung sinabi sa akin.

UPDATE regarding GLOBE 20mbps(1599), 50mbps(1899) and 100mbps(2499) "Fibre Plan".
I've confirmed via talking to various supervisors from Customer support and even their branch supervisors that once you fully consume your allotted data, you will be stuck on 256kbps(Yup! Modem speed) until the next 1st of the Month.
Globe is forcing you to purchase their "data booster" pack so that you could continue using your Plan's speed. I suggest you guys use other ISP's or stick to your current old one. DO NOT get this plan, this is plain scamming using "fair usage policy" as an excuse to milk out more money from their consumers while providing inadequate service.

in Globe's defense (again, hindi ako employee or PR firm nila), matagal naman nang global industry practice yang capping. sa america inalis na nila yung unlimited plans kasi naaabuso yung system. don't get me wrong, ayoko rin ng cap as much as possible pero kung yun yung makakapagbigay ng equal service to everyone, why not?
besides, naka-300gb plan ako, i rarely reach my data allocation sa isang buwan considering na heavy user ako. hindi ako anti-PLDT pero tried and tested ko na na mas reliable ang globe broadband kaya ako naghintay ma-roll out sa condo. and i find 1899 per month reasonable for 50mbps na speed.
ps. May 1 buwan na inubos ko yung 300gb para ma-test, hindi naman 256kbps yung speed. from 50mbps, naging 15mbps.
ps2. kung talagang kelangan ng unlimited, well yes, i agree, go pldt na lang. meron pa rin silang unli fiber plans. okay na rin naman ang feedback sa service nila, accdg to most of my friends. it's just down to your preference.

Oh men. Sana di totoo. Baka naman nananakot lang sila? Will give you feedback by the end of the month.

There has been a reversal of trend with regards to data capping in the US. Most wireless carriers are now offering unlimited plans.
Globe's just doing it for the money, plain and simple. Why cap a WIRED service when the infra/tech can obviously handle it anyway? Its not like wireless where you have limited spectrum availability. Each wire line is capable of what the technology can provide. Fiber ~ 1Gbps (theoretically, no limit), DSL~20mbps (per subscriber).
Hope they come to their senses and just do away with the cap. Their 1599 plan is actually a good value for money.

I understand net neutrality. My concern is not withr capping though. It's the 256Kbps speed that surfaces after you exceed your cap that's just unacceptable.

^Remember when Globe implemented 64kbps speed when capped. Most subscriber shifted to PLDT. I'm sure they won't implement that. They will stick to 30% capped speed.

ah, now this i am totally onboard with. ang brutal naman kasi ng 256kbps kung totoo man. kahit sana 1 or 2mbps man lang for browsing if you reach your allocation.

same! i reported it 2 days ago. pag nag-speedtest ako using globe servers 49-50mbps naman. youtube videos at 720 or 1080p load fast. pero pag nag-update ako ng app sa phone or other sites, mabagal. kala ko ako lang eh.

Bakit mo kailangan ng speedtest results while connected to a vpn? The results will vary depending on your vpn provider so it would be really hard to compare.

Based on my own experience minsan pag direct connection ka mabagal sa ibang websites pero pag nag vpn bumibilis. Vpn will reduce your max speed by a few % due to latency and encryption pero mas ok na yan. Some free vpn ay mabagal so I make my own vpn server. I lease 1gbit server for $12/yr.

pag nag-speedtest ako sa iPhone 17-20mbps lang out of 50.

Globe still works great two weeks short of three months into my contract.
Both my iPhone and MacBook get around 50 to 65 Mbps using my 2.4 GHz network and 95+ Mbps on my 5 GHz network. I, too, encounter issues with downloading speeds on Apple's front (e.g., App Store and iTunes) but most of the time tinatawagan ko lang sila and after a few hours balik sa normal ang downloading speed. Issues with App Store & iTunes download speed isn't particular to Globe. I'm not exactly sure either if both Globe and PLDT are proactively throttling our connections to Apple, but a part of me finds it difficult to believe that the problem lies with Apple. I would sometimes use a VPN and my download speed immediately goes back to normal. (For the curious, I'm using Cloak for iOS and macOS.)

Pwede upgrade. Downgrade lang may pre-termination fee. Ilang beses na ako nagpa-upgrade within lockin period - wala naman daw problem.

Per experience, it's 30% and not 256 kbps. Backread po - this has been discussed a number of time in this thread. Wag kayo masyado maniniwala sa CSRs nila - they're notoriously misinformed.

I agree that Internet here is still quite expensive compared to our neighbors but we've come a long way! 100Mbps for 2499 is really not bad, but I still wish it's a bit cheaper.

Hi guys I just created an account para mag ask dito about sa globe fibr plan 50mbps. Kumusta so far sa online gaming specifically sa PS4? Okay ba? I'm a disappointed Skybroadband 50mbps user kasi.
So I'm hoping na okay to for ps4 online gaming para lipat nalang ako.
I mean di ba ganun kalakas kumain ng net ang online gaming right? 1TB naman ang cap.
Thanks in advance
