Globe@Home GFiber Broadband Thread

As far as I know wala siya diyan sa Lifestyle/Content.

for bridge mode, they no longer cater that request anymore, wanna bridge it? do it on your own pwera na lang kung meron kang static ip addon.
  • Hi everyone.

That's more than 8k pesos.

Pwede ba un inegotiate? Ano consequence if di ko bayaran?
  • @edwin

Tapusin mo na lang yung contract. Or pwede din pa-lipat mo sa ibang tao gusto assume yung contract. Unless you have a valid reason for terminating the contract (eg poor service, etc.) e legally binding yung contract mo sa kanila. Masisira lang credit standing mo if tatakbuhan mo sya.

Back then, pahirap makawala sa contract ni Globe. In my case, yung nilipatan ko na place e wala silang slot. It took a while to resolve, (like 2 years, LOL.) pero naayos naman din at eto, naka-kabit uli ng Globe as backup connection. Take note, grabe harassment ng mga collection agencies sa akin during that time.

TLDR: Do it the right way. :) Either bayad pre-term or transfer, or hintayin mo na lang matapos lock-in.
  • @rand0m_insanity

Thanks for replying! I'll be migrating to Australia kasi. And ung current place where the internet is connected is just a rental. I don't have plans of coming back to the PH din in the near future.

Pero I might just pay na lang the pre-term.
  • "Pwede ba un inegotiate? Ano consequence if di ko bayaran?"

Pwede yan basta valid ang reason and parating walang service, and of course escalated sa NTC and PCC.

Consequences? Blacklisted ka sa Globe, any service nila. Merong tatawag sa iyo everyday reminding you of your obligations sa Globe xD

  • napalitan modem ko ng wifi 6... plan 500 Mbps pero di umaabot sa 500 + 300 to 400 lang ul/dl hahaha... observe ko 1 week bago ko i-contact yung technician... matagal ko na na experience after realignment from paln 2499 300 Mbps to 2499 500 Mbps...

sana sa upcoming plan upgrade speeds nila eh madamay sa pagtaas... hehehe...
  • I'm applying for a new Globe fiber plan at our new place and wanted to avail of the static IP addon, but agent said it is only available for business plans. Is this true?
  • ^ pwede sa residential basta naka PPPoE ka. Pag IPOE, awal
  • @bisdakol Thanks. Tinawagan ko ulit yung agent from Globe at iniconfirm nga na pwede naman daw sa residential, just add +770 on top of the monthly plan.
  • haist dissappointed na di ako pwede mag avail ng static ip due the infrastructure daw ay iPOE lang sa area, i still believe bogus to, since yun pinsan ko naka PPPoE haist, need kasi ng backup and hindi naman ako mag babayad kaya hinayaan ko na lang :/
  • @nicejuan

Same here. Wala narin ako magagawa since last year ko pa to nirequest. The only way na malagyan ka ng Static IP is for your line to be transfered to a PPPOE na nap box. Yan ang advice sakin.

  • may bagong modem ba si globe? pwede malaman anong model?
  • ^
bago modem ni globibo wifi 6 - Huawei OptiXstar EG8145X6
for VIP plans P2,499 and up
  • @tongerks

OptiXstar HG8145X6 for Huawei ONTs. I got mine replaced last week and noticed ping is higher than normal. Idk pero monitor ko lang muna for now baka sa network talaga may issue and not on the device.
  • wala sa NAP box yan in terms kung makukuha mo is PPPoE or IPoE.

new subscribers are now being assigned on DHCP IP provisioning on different VLAN while legacy subscribers na naka PPPoE is also connected to the same NAP box but on a different VLAN.

I guess gameover na yung Static IP addon sa residential at makukuha na lang sya sa business plans which infact is actually 150 pesos cheaper. so kung may business kayo dyan kahit sarisari store pa yan, it may be worth it just getting the business plan, basically no difference narin naman na yung speed basis nila compared to residential, medyo mahigpit lang ng konti sa requirements and may take almost a week for approval.
  • Hello po, ask lng. may naka experience na po ba sa inyo na hindi maka ping to any websites when using 5Ghz (wifi)na band pero may internet pa rin?
Nag try ako sa Lan cable at 2.4Ghz (wifi) ok naman both ping and access to any websites.
Sa 5Ghz, RTO xah always to any websites pero may internet parin.

AN5506_04F1A po model ng globe router.

    Thanks po kung may makakatulong

  • nakakatuwa plan ko... 500 Mbps 2499...

kakapalit lang ng onu/modem ni globe a week ago (or a couple of weeks ago)...

    xiaomi wifi 6 router (meshed): 400+/525+ dl/ul
    direct onu/modem: 400+/525+ dl/ul (same sa router)

  • I manage to bridge my new IPOE onu from Globe (2499). ok naman speed minsan umaabot ng gigabit pag wired.

ano ba advantage and disadvantages ng IPOE vs PPPoE?
  • You can take a look here

    <click here for link>

    Technically, IPOE is better.
  • pangit kasi ang PPPoE for other routers like pfsense/openwrt/OPNSense etc... due to limitation sa pppoe driver.

pppoe is basically limited to single thread connection so your on mercy on the single core performance, also that additional overhead which may add latency and decreased bandwidth lalo na kung naka xDSL ka pa, pero kung fiber na, this overhead is basically negligible.

while IPoE is optimized for multi-thread, meaning each connection attempt can randomly be assigned in any available cpu cores. less over head as well.
  • ^^

Thanks! medyo confused lang ako kasi yung iba gusto PPPoE and naka IPoE na sila.

Also, madali mag bridge ng IPoE
  • ^ well meron kasing special case for that, one thing is the Static IP addon and sa system ni Globe at least for now, yung SOP nila to perform static ip sa subscriber is only applicable sa PPPoE connections and if your on IPoE, malas mo.

other than that, IPoE is much better, and this will also make configuration to the ONT to the installer simply a plug and play thing.
  • Hmmm..., PPPoE vs IPoE

Plan ko (in the next month or 2) to get a Globe Business Line + Static IP.

Automatic ba ako bigyan nang PPPoE + Static IP? "OR" IPoE + Static IP?

Malalaman ba sa mga installers if PPPoE or IPoE makukuha ko?
