External IP on mobile devices

  • Anyone know if Globe or Smart 3G/4G internet services give you an externally accessible IP? It doesn\'t need to be static, but it does need to provide a \"real\" external IP so that it can be accessed directly from the internet. This is for VPN purposes.
  • No. You\'re NATed without hope of being accessible.
  • Thanks for the info. Are there any 3G service providers that don\'t NAT you? Are there business plans that avoid this?
  • I was able to try WiTribe once. We rented a condo unit with internet. The IP address obtained by the WiMax modem was publicly accessible.
  • List of ISP that has Public IP address:

    - PLDT MyDSL/fibr (both residential and business plans, business plans can lease up to 2-3 Public IP address)
    - Globe DSL (only with Static IP subscription or subscribed to Business Plans)
    - BayanDSL (only with higher business plans and CCTV plans)
    - SmartBro (business plans only)(not being offered anymore but still available for old subs)

List of ISP that only have Private IP address:

    - Globe WiMax/LTE@HOME (both residential and business plans)
    - SmartBro/HomeBro (residential)
    - BayanDSL (residential plans and some of basic business plans)
    - Globe Postpaid/Prepaid (Postpaid Business Plans are also using Private IP address)
    - Sun Broadband Postpaid/Prepaid (all plans)

  • Thanks for the info guys, looks like there isn\'t much choice for mobile data with public IP.
  • pag Private IP po ba hindi siya accessible outside? ang gamit po kasi namin ganto

    - Globe WiMax/LTE@HOME (both residential and business plans)

hindi ko ma view kasi yung cctv sa bahay pag nasa office ako...

im using axis m32xx series IP Cam...

auto obtain siya ng public ip with port pag gusto mo siya ma access sa labas, kaso hindi nakakalusot yung pinapakitang niyang na accuired na IP...

is there any possible way para ma view ko cctv sa bahay pag nasa office ako?
