TPC Help me choose a car! (Car Comparison Thread etc.)

  • Congrats!
  • Nakaka-tempt kumuha ng Current Montero GLS Premium A/T ngayon. Dealerships can provide 300k discount for GLS Premium variant. Magkaka Gen4 Montero na ba next year?

IIRC malaki talaga mag discount mitsu
  • @mmb101 - yep! already have a reservation for a GLS, 350K discount. PO is also ready, so for release na anytime. Wala pang Gen4, it's more of a Gen 3.5, lalabas yung facelifted this year.

  • Kimchi cars ftw!

  • yung big discount ba sa montero applicable to all variants or sa GLS premium lang?

sabi sa tsikot bro lahat variants
  • Nice! makadaan nga mamya sa Peak motors sa Roxas blvd hehehe
  • Di ba masakit bumili ng old variant? For sure kaya malaki ang discount kasi kini-clear lang ang inventory para sa darating na new model. So even if malaki ang discount, okay lang ba knowing na may paparsting na new model?
  • As long as its bnew and warranty is honored then that's fine by me. Besides MMC lang daw lalabas baka grill lang nabago ehehe

may advantage rin sa pag purchase near the end of life ng kotse, apart sa price na matitipid mo

one thing I could think of is if may design or functional defect yung kotse nung unang labas, malamang na-correct na yun during refresh or yearly iterations
sa bagong labas, wala kang idea sa reliability nung kotse

marami na ring sources sa net kung ano yung mga problems na pwede mong ma-encounter and their possible solutions

mejo marami na rin yang aftermarket parts sa mga suking auto shops, usually first 3 years ng kotse, mejo mahirap pa makakita since karamihan casa pa ang punta

Eto iniisip ko ngayun sa mazda 3. Buy the 2018 model with discount or 0% interest or wait ilabas yung 2019 which is probably going to be more expensive.
  • Yeah, sulit na sulit yung Mazda 3 na outgoing, basta get the 2.0L variant.

Tumaas ang discount ng Gen3 Monty GLS Premium from 300k to 345k during last week of March. Got white, add 15k for the color. Buti na lang Gen3.5 lang pala lalabas, not Gen4, so good deal na din ang Gen3 discount.

Ayoko lang sa Gen3 is ung stock busina, mahina (compared to Gen4 Everest). Plan to replace it after holy week. Have to research pa ano malakas na busina.

Eto rin dilemma ko before getting the Gen3 Monty pero inisip ko na lang sayang ung malaking discount. Tsaka ung cycle ng Gen3 Monty ngayon I think more refined na from previous years of Gen3, if may issue - malamang nafix na nila. Compared sa bagong model na ilalabas nila, if ever man may issue, may wait time for their 'fix'.. and walang discount, kung meron man discout malamang maliit lang.

Gagawin kong style is, mag upgrade na lang ako sa future sa last cycle ng next-gen, para may malaking discount ulit, and at the same time mas lalong masulit ung pagbili sa current car.
  • Depende naman sa preference yan, if gusto mo yung latest and greatest or you're after sa "huge" discount.

For me kase, if bibili ng brand new, itapat mo dun sa newly launched pa lang, para matagal siya maging bago/latest model diba?

In my case. got a brand new nung 1.5 years na siyang released locally. In addition, kumuha ako extended warranty (5yrs total) for more peace of mind.

First brand new car ko yan, baka in the future mag iba na din pananaw ko haha

  • I agree with the 'preference'.

Then after almost one year, naglabas ng malaking discount ang Mitsu for GLS Premium Montero, which for me - another 'value for money'.

Hahaha
  • Nasunog na ko sa launch purchase when we bought our 2011 Fiesta, Langyang TCM problem yan pabalik balik, kahit under warranty, hassle. Dumating sa point na takot na gamitin ng misis ko, so we had to sell it. So normally pag bumibili kami ng bago, nasa midlife cycle na sya.
  • We went to MIAS last weekend. Laki ng discount na inoffer ng Ford for Everest Titanium 2.2 a/t. Ung nakausap ko sales agent, she can give as high as 335k. Hahaha
