TPC Help me choose a car! (Car Comparison Thread etc.)

  • Mga lodi planning for a new car Mazda 2 sedan V+ is my best bet atm.

Purpose - Weekend Car / Going to and from the province with my folks

Any comparable car within the price range po? (975k)

    Tia

Mazda 2 and the City/Jazz is slate for an all new gen very soon.

But if hindi ka na makapag antay. No doubt get the City or Jazz VX.

Consider the Civic 1.8L as well. Onting stretch na lang sa budget and it's a much much better car and only in its mid life cycle. Wait for the facelift. Local launch should be anytime soon.

  • Mga Sir, I'm considering the following cars:

    1. Honda City E CVT 2019
    2. Hyundai Accent CRDi (hatch/sedan) M/T

How about resale value at parts replacement?

Also considering Kia Soluto din kasi tempting yung features niya vs price.

    Salamat po sa mga sasagot.

Any idea sir if within this first half of the year?

Was planning to get one before the rainy season starts

    Thanks

In other countries yes, but here locally malabo. Maybe Q42019 or next year na.

But if you really need the car right now and di mo naman need ng latest and greatest model, the current models are ok.

Salamat sir parang wala akong mapili na sulit for my budget
  • 2008-09 ford everest MT (i think 2nd gen ito)
    2013 xtrail AT
a lot cheaper is 2009 xtrail AT (nasa 300k lang)

ano ba mas mahirap bilihan ng suspension parts and other consumables?
  • ^update lang ..

    nasa 400-500k yun everest 2nd gen (2008)
    may nakita ako 2014 altis E 350-430k
meron din tucson and sportage 2010 430k cheapest
  • Hi Guys,

I would like to ask for your opinion on what should I choose between these 2 cars.

Currently I am having a dilemma on what to choose between the All New Ertiga 2019 1.5 GL MT or Avanza 2019 1.3 E MT.

    Issues:
For the Ertiga I’m seeing owner posts that after 4-5yrs they are now having problem with the Ertiga’s Stabilizer link and CV joint and these needs to be replaced. The bad thing here is that the parts is hard to find and it is a bit pricey. Is this normal for other cars to replace its stabilizer and cv joint after that span of years?

For the Avanza what the problem here is that masyado syang matagtag and for its price range compare to Ertiga, you can only get the 1.3 engine. But also maybe there’s other issue about avanza.

I am considering to own the car in long term and I want a durable one and I want to weigh their pros and cons to pick the best choice because this will be my very first Bnew car purchase

    Thank you!
  • @Curiouz
    depende parin sa user eh
i remeber sa vios ko, 1 year old yun shocks before i got it pero medyo nalaspag ng previous user (hiniram sa boss ko for a couple of months)
pinagawa ko lahat ng pang ilalim, pero di tumagal. pero after shock replacment and all bushings ok na for almost 2 years
  • ^ +1

It still depends how you drive your car and the road condition kung san ito dinadaan lagi.

Example nalang is EDSA vs Expressways.
  • If you are looking for long term car use, get the Avanza.
  • Why not Xpander? And may paparating din na xpander-based 7 seater ang Nissan.
  • @deadmanwade
Outside the budget na po :(

    @elman
Yung 1.5 kasi ng avanza ang katapat na eh mobilio and xpander for its price range

    @ninjababez @razorjay

    Cash mo bibilhin?

  • ^yeah kasi nga halos lahat OEM / orig, bihira replacement
kung orig price vs orig price, im sure di nagkakalayo yan

so far sa brakepads ang dami nila options for 1.2L swift
nagulat nga ako ganun kadami, akala ko oem lang or 1 specific brand lang, IIRC 5 options binigay sakin including OEM
  • @cocoy_g
Auto loan sir or financing :)

Mga stabilizer and cv joint kaya ng ertiga meron? Hehe
  • lumang ertiga siguro meron.

  • Hi folks, need your opinions and inputs on what to get, Current rides are a 2014 Everest Ltd (ICA2, previous gen) which I'm selling/replacing, and a 2018 Ciaz GL AT. 2 reasons why I need to replace the everest - taking advantage of the company plan and (the saddest and most important) the gods of plate numbers have been very cruel, plate number ng ciaz turned out to have the same coding as the everest, so it has to go (Need 2 rides kasi, for me and the wifey). So this is what we're looking for:
    1. Budget - max of 1,400,000 (not financing, and not 1 peso more), but this price should also include the dealer/agent discount and not the SRP
    2. Diesel SUV/MPV - have 2 small kids, so pag travel kami we have a lot of things - 2 strollers, 2 car seats, baby/kids stuff, + yaya and her things, and our things. I'm also a biker, so i can load at least 2 bikes via a tow hitch. So PPV based dapat
    3. Not from China

Currently looking at a Montero GLS AT (not premium), at 1.719M SRP, but found a dealer offering 345K discount so it's below 1.4M. Are there other bang for the buck options? Preferably madaming toys din as standard (cruise control, leather steering, nice audio, etc). Or Montero na talaga yung panalo?

    TIA!
  • ^Montero or Innova

But for Montero, GLS Premium offers more value.

LED headlights/brakelights pa lang panalo na, plus it has the same mags sa GT.

Even cheaper than pre-Train price sa nabasa ko online. Drawback lang for sure new montero is just around the corner lang.
  • Doing a lot of research this morning, either Innova E AT or Montero GLS AT nga best options. MUX LS AT has a lower price, pero sobrang bare. Out of the question si Fortuner and Tierra, lagpas 1.4M.

Specs wise, Montero trumps the Innova, pero more space and cheaper naman si Innova - 1.369 vs 1.244. BTW, Mitsu caloocan has 345K discount, Las Pinas naman has 350K. Ok sana GLS Premium, pero over budget na, wala na ko budget to finance my hobbies :P
