  • pwede kaya to lumipat ng plan from FiberX1500 to Superfiber30?
  • Is there a way I can add sa whitelist ni huawei eg8245h5, looks like naka limit lng sya sa 8 users...
  • Hello,

Question lang po. Would you know po if dalawa po ba ang ni launch ni Converge?
Nabasa ko po kasi sa isang website yung 'Bida Fiber' na 888 pesos per month daw na up to 35Mbps at up to 6 gadgets din
  • @Henrelle09

The difference between Surf2Sawa at BidaFiber is prepaid yung S2S at postpaid naman yung Bida Fiber with 36 months lock-in.
  • Thank you, @Driz_12

Kinagandahan lang ng Surf2Sawa is walang lock-in period
  • 200mbps ko kay converge 10mbps sa steam download currently updating dota 2 since tagal ko hindi naglaro. then switch my selfhost vpn sagad 200mbps 20mb/s. mukha limit talaga converge yung residential plan. grabe parang hindi sulit binabayad natin sa kanila

Same here. 800Mbps ko nga tuwing 7pm-11pm bagsak sa 50Mbps minsan 20Mbps pa. Kaya downgrade to FIBER X 2000 ako (400Mbps). Mas lumala ngayon kasi nasa 20Mbps nalang tuwing gabi. Unless they will have network issues. Impossibleng CONGESTION to. Di na nila nasusunod ang 30% nilang guaranteed speed nila 80% of the time.

  • @Mer991

When you say "10mbps" and "20mb/s", do you mean "Mbps" (Megabits per second) or "MB/s" (Megabytes per second)?
  • Anyone from Cebu can share ping tests for 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.222.2? I’m on the blue team right now and ping is consistently high. Considering to switch due to this issue.
  • @karlpintero
10 Megabit per second sr sa Steam DL. should be 200 Mbps = 25 MB/s dapat kaso may limit talaga yung residential plan kaya hindi namax download sa Steam

    @DeAntagonist
oonga sir up to talaga ni converge. may time dowload sa una max speed then mag drop siya agad. temporary fix using vpn or back up internet para walang hassle sa ganto.
Impossibleng CONGESTION to.

kahit 4 lang kayo dyan possible overprovisioned na kayo, you should also know that a single OLT slot can be splitted upto 128. and per NAP box upto 16 connections yan.

lets say sa NAP box nyo 4 lang kayo but other NAP boxes that is full or nealy full is still possibility, and yes, the other NAP boxes are still assisnged on that single OLT port which only had upto 2.5gbps symetrical shared bandwidth. Doing the math getting 20mbps at peak hours on a 128 split OLT looks normal to me.

lets add to the insult na meron narin silang prepaid fiber so that will make the things worse for postpaid lalo na yung mga nasa higher tier plans.

In short is the LAN2 active?
  • @Mer991

Sa'kin FiberX 1500 (200Mbps) pero yung Steam downloads ko pumapalo naman ng around 37 to 40 MB/s even on wifi.
  • What's the advantage of using Converge's wifi6 modem over adding my own wifi6 router to my existing modem?
  • @Mer991

  • @karlpintero
buti pa sayo lods. sakin ewan bakit ganto naka cat6 cable ako 2.5G Lan ko sa pc. ako lang naka converge sa area namin halos lahat naka Pldt Fbr / GFibr. funny thing 200mbps plan half speed nakuha dami ko beses eto report same parin. but have PH VPS kaya nag setup ako selfhost vpn kahit papano sagad ko speed ni converge from 10mbps to 20/25mbps na dl sa steam.
  • effective sakin ito: converge modem > LAN cable > wifi mesh
  • @Mer991

  • @joseph0829 Try mo CloudSigma. Meron sila 1 Clark server and 2 sa Manila. Cheapest is around 11USD I think.

    Converge getting into media services
  • ^Looks like they're going back to their roots. I mean, they started as cable tv operator in Pampanga wayback in the 1990s. But the big thing about this news is that ...
Uy is now in the final stages of designing a new service offering that will bundle most, if not all, of the channels currently available on cable TV with the internet service of every single Converge subscriber.

More importantly, the service will come at no additional fee for the subscriber as the cost of carrying all those channels will be tucked into the existing subscription fee.

Big if true, this makes their service more compelling (minus the reliability part in some areas and customer support) compared to other ISPs.
  • Wow, that's indeed big news. We've been a Comclark/Converge subscriber for more or less 15+ years in Pampanga and can say that it has given us the best service so far. It's always nice to know that additional services are being added without any additional charges.
  • @Driz_12

That's a good deal for those who want cable TV.

But a lot of us have stopped with cable for nearly 2 decades already... so parang unwanted bundling uli ito?
  • I don't watch cable TV anymore but if it's free, why not?
  • Ano yun, IPTV or the usual analog line we're all used to?
  • @filipinX
It's good for people who live with elderly persons.

    @Gink
IPTV, ang nakikita ko lang na additional cost is need natin bumili ng box nila to access the service. And yung mga channels na included would depend sa subscription plan mo (which make sense sa business perspective).
  • lol, its a dead investment, cable tv service is on its way to funeral. para saan pa ang cable tv kung yung mismong channels na mostly people wanted is only available on their own respective streaming services (Disney+, HBO, etc...) and most if not all foreign cable tv news can be stream free from their respective websites (assuming you use a VPN since some of them are region restricted), at least if you have a boomer in your family at walang alam sa tech this maybe a nice offer pero ano pa ba mapapanood mo ngayung sa cable tv na hindi mo mapapanood through internet.
