  • OEC is overseas employment certificate.. for overseas workers lang yan... for immigrants, you need to get PDOS stamp on passport (pre departure orientation certificate)

Anyone from BC na pwede magrecommend ng good paying job? Currently working sa distribution company as a QA and previous warehouse order picker? lol.
  • @smoke4twenty

depende naman sa lugar... as in any city in Canada... mas delikado sa downtown and north end, outside of that, may mangilan ngilan na crime areas... nasa outskirts kami ng downtown and we've been here for 15 years at di pa naman kami nabibiktima... although in my first year, the only time I forgot to lock my garage door, nanakawan kami ng bike... mumurahin lang naman bikes namin so no big deal... nowadays I have 5 bikes in my garage, and I have cameras all over kaya wala na naglalakas loob pumasok man lang sa backyard namin...

BC is very expensive, gusto rin sana namin lumipat diyan for the weather and para isang plane lang going to pinas (cheaper flight pa), kaso tiyak na duduguin naman kami para lang may matinong bahay diyan, compared sa winnipeg, a $300K house here is like a $2Million house in Vancouver...
  • @rolandg

Haha. Still praying and hoping na makabili kami ng house or townhouse dito if ever. ilang years din bago ko navisit 'tong site na to. last log in ko is 2017 yata. Well, nice to talk to fellow pinoys trying to live away from home (Philippines). kampay!
  • i think we were lucky enough to get a house 20k below asking price. pinoy din yung previous owner. malaking tulong din siguro na gumawa kami ng offer letter. excited to move in!
  • meron ba dito na pumasok sa canada using Student visa? My wife's cousin is in the process of applying... baka pwede share ninyo ang process ninyo (if you use immigration consultant, IELTS, show money, SDS - Student Direct Stream)
  • ^ we did. Fastest and surest way magastos lang.

Salamat
  • @adonis827

My wife's cousin also has a lower IELTS... she has average 6.0 pero some bands are 5.5 and ang requirement ng Student Direct Stream is 6.0 for all bands... kaya nag apply din siya ng EAL (English as second language) + the 2 year college course (Business Admin)

My question is, sa regular Student visa siya mag apply ano? dahil di siya pasado sa isa sa requirements ng SDS (which is the IELTS)

With the regular student visa, ano kelangan niya pakita? she went with all the requirements sa SDS (GIC with canadian bank of $10K, Acceptance letter from Designate learning institution for EAL and Business Admin course, paid 1st year of tuition...
  • anyone here taken the AIPP path? (Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program)
  • Anyone know a good courier service in Canada na pwedeng magship ng bike from Gaint Langley to Sechelt?
May isa pa syang option, yung sa thebikeshop.com from calgary.

  • https://www.immigration.ca/financial-requirements-for-international-students-to-study-in-canada

20k cad or less than 1m pesos puwede na

Kasama ko misis ko at 7 years old daughter namin. Misis ko nakapag trabaho naman kaagad habang aral ako tapos part time. 3 years ngayon tapos na ako sa kurso ko at may work na din. May bago din kaming baby boy. Naghihintay na lang din ng pr.
  • so, ang tingin ko, malabo na siya

    depende sa reviewing officer yan.

no time to sulk, need niya ng data, information at motivation.

When I said malabo siya, I was factoring in the current pandemic, tourism is basically dead for next few months unless they find a cure for the COVID-19... Before applying for the student visa, you have to apply for the school first, deposit $10K GIC in a Canadian Bank, pay for tuition for 1 year, etc... which she did... dalawang reason ang dahilan nila, Purpose of visit, which is vauge, pero may chance pa magbago isip ng reviewing officer, and kung yun lang ang dahilan, pwede apply ulit with more details sa purpose of visit letter... but for Travel history, which as of this year, malabo mangyari, in a middle of a pandemic, malabong masabing tourism ang punta mo sa HK, Singapore, etc. and ma-qu-question ang purpose mo of travelling in a dangerous season... di naman pwede nakatambay lang ang tuition, and yung GIC na pera... so kelangan i-withdraw... maybe in the future try ulit, pero for this year and next year, malabo...
  • finally upgraded my old value village / thrift store routers. from wireless N, naka-tyempo ng netgear R7800. swabe ramdam ang upgrade!

got it for cheap sa ebay. ang issue is hindi nag-se-save settings upon reboot sa default firmware. since wala naman ako pakialam sa default firmware and always running OpenWRT sa previous router ko, i decided to gamble. working OK naman yung R7800 sa OpenWRT. and yung old wireless N router ko, ni-repurpose ko as WDS access point. solb!
  • @ryanrudolf

    magkano mo nakuha?
  • ^ got it for 80usd including tax+shipping
