Best way to backup pictures?

  • tape drive just google it
  • on my end photos and videos are backed up in 3 separate internal drives. then isang external drive tucked inside a dry box. just make sure yung external mo may physical sata port sa loob. may iba kasing WD drive usb derecho incase of recovery. I also have an online back up using picasa using paid google storage na grandfathered account. i upload photos converted at half of the resolution and some minimal compression via picasa app para atleast may copy parin ako online kahit di full resolution ng picture.

^ Yes, as long as you safe keep them, they will be more reliable than HDDs, SSDs and cloud.

mahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabang usapan yang topic na yan sa "The Optical Disc burning thread: DVD±RWs and CD-RWs" thread. I'll give you some things I remember since I have been following it for a long time

    * store your burned discs in a drybox
    * pressed dvd's and cd's are inherently more reliable than burned. But since only commercial operators and bigtime pirates have access to pressing machines, its not an issue to us since we only have access to burners
    * use only good brands of blank media .... but wait, there's more
    * make sure its not fake (there are ways)
    * and even if its not fake, make sure this particular batch didnt use an inferior media then just slapped their name on it. Parang restoraunt, pwede biglang baguhin ang supplier nila for say their meat or vegetables
    * there are ways to scan optical media kung nag dedeteriorate na

  • Just use Google Photos and pay for storage. It has unbeatable features such as indexing and search by categories. It has high value for money too.
  • plus the reputation of company ^ ,

i wouldnt use something na free store unlimited store from unheard company xyz then the next thing you know nagsara site nila
  • I backed up to Blu-ray discs. Gonna get those archival discs soon.
