Hands on Transcend JetDrive Go 300 for iOS device storage expansion

Whether it’s the iPhone or the iPad, the users always encounter a problem with moving photos to a PC when you just want to get some selected files from dozens of folders. It takes like forever sync’ing all of your photos via iTunes before you can pick the files you need.

In an attempt to simplify the workflow of transferring files between iOS devices and PCs, Transcend has created JetDrive Go 300 to bring the solution. By connecting the JetDrive Go 300 directly to your iOS device, you can store and stream media like music, video, and photos using the drive’s additional storage. Here let’s see how it works.

At the front side of the box, we have the features like Lightening & USB dual connectors, up to 130 MB/s transfer speed, and photo & video backup.

The JetDrive GO 300 comes with a lightning connector on one end and a standard male USB connector on the other. Although the accessory offers dual connectors, they can’t be used at the same time. Both the USB and lightning connector ends are protected by solid see-through plastic caps. It can act as a thumb drive that transfers media seamlessly between an iOS device and a Mac or PC. The JetDrive Go 300 is a MFi-certified flash drive that meets Apple performance and manufacturing standards.

The JetDrive Go app launches automatically when the lightning connector is inserted to the phone. The app’s interface has a handful of intuitively titled functions separated into four sections: JetDrive Go storage, My storage, Camera Roll and Backups. When you tap Backups function, it will back up Camero Roll to the JetDrive Go 300. You can select which files types – photos, videos, or both to back up to your JetDrive Go 300. And if you tap the snapshot icon, you can take photos or record videos saved directly to the JetDrive Go’s memory, bypassing storage on the iOS device. And when tap Camera Roll icon, you can manage photos and videos on your iOS device. My Storage is an extra space in your iOS device. When tap My Storage you can view stored movies and documents that are not supported by your iOS device.

Playing videos and music stored on the JetDrive Go 300 worked seamlessly. The files played as perfectly as the ones already saved on the mobile. Any files format for videos, music, images, and document native to iOS open instantly directly from the drive.
