AVR? Transformer? Or surge protector?

  • Hello, mga sirs.

Pasensya na kung magmumukha akong ignorante as di ako adept sa electrics.

Ano po yung kekelanganin ko for my PC? AVR? Transformer? Or surge protector?

    Salamat in advance.
  • you dont need transformet if the appliance you were using is already rated at the voltage standard here in philppines.

surge protector is just a well, as you see a surge protector. it will protect your appliance against high power spikes, but here in Philippines you cant really use them without proper grounding, so this is useless in most cases.

AVR is a voltage regulator, it protects you against fluctuating power, it will regulate the power from the output side to a rated voltage it was setted to. So even if your mains are getting too low or too high voltage, AVR can handle it (mostly, it still depends on the specs of the AVR). If your appliance is already autovolt, then this thing is useless.
