Convinced na ako this is Sky near bankruptcy, internet is down again after a brief period tapos customer service says their system is also down and cannot troubleshoot

my apartment has been using sky broadband since 2016... no issues maliban nung nagkaroon ng problema sa router mismo... ilang beses na rin siya nag speed upgrade but still good up to now. baka nagkataon lang na matino yung area ng skybroadband service na kinalalagyan ko.

Yeah, me too. Generally ok naman sky ko. Nakakahinayang lang yung pag nag compare ka halimbawa sa converge na 1500 tapos 100mbps na symmetric. Sa sky 35mbps lang ang 1300 pesos at assymetric. Hassle lang magpalit pa sa ngayon at habang ok naman sky ko, pagtiyagaan muna. Pero isang abala lang siguro sa sky, magpapalit agad ako.

Me too, switched from bayantel to sky a several years ago, almost no problems, even highly recommended them.
Then the big outage last november(?) and every month after, then the outages became almost weekly allegedly because of cable theft.
Then the outages became twice a week shortly before the "merger" deal, then normal again afterwards.
Ngayon balik shitty internet in a different way, lousy DL no UL frequent short outages.
Kung walang backup Globe wifi from neighbor, matagal na ako lumipat.

Looks like may routing issue nanaman since 3pm today. Most sites aren’t loading pero sa speedtest, okay. Nakita ko din sa Twitter na may ibang tao na same issue since 3pm din.

Yes sir, also turned off 5ghz kasi 2.4ghz lang yung extender. Also played around sa ibang settings pero ayaw pa din.

^ Try mo muna na open lang (no security encryption) yung 2.4GHz band ng router. Baka lang kasi hindi supported ng extender yung security settings na gamit sa router. Kapag gumana saka mo hanapin kung anong encryption setting ang uubra para sa extender. Kung wala pa rin check mo kung anung wifi channel ang gamit sa router. Baka kasi US spec yung extender na hanggang channel 11 lang. Kapag Philippine spec ang router puwede siya hanggang channel 13. Dapat nasa channel na supported nilang dalawa.

May kinalaman ba yung ginawa kong Bridge Mode yung cable modem ko sa hindi ko pagkuha ng speed upgrade ng Sky Broadband?
5 years na akong naka-Sky pero ngayon lang ako pinag-hard reset ng modem ng Level 2 technician nila.

skybroadband user here since 2008. grabe 14years na pala kami sa sky.
lumang scientific atlanta pa yung modem na gamit namin hanggang ngayon. sobrang solid kahit stand alone modem lang, tapos naka 2 wifi router na kami, still buhay pa rin ung modem.
kaya ayaw namin mag iba ng isp kasi, oks pa naman sa lugar namin tong sky kumpara sa iba. mabilis din akyson kung me outage.
nag simula kami sa plan 5mbps, nakailang speed upgrade na rin to at wala na rin yata tong plan 999 sa website nila. nagagamit rin vpn ng utol ko sa work nya, nakaka stream naman sa netflix at iba pang streaming apps. di rin ako hardcore gamer kaya oks lang. at saka, 2 lang yata kami naka sky sa street namin kaya wala masyado agawan ng koneksyon hehe.. kaya goods na kami sa sky.

naexperience ko yan nung nag boost sila ng 1999plan from 80 to 120mbps. ang nakukuha ko lang sa speedtest sa celphone ay 90-100mbps. then 1 time nagkaproblema connection. nung tinroubleshoot ko sa PC nirekta ko sa sky modem(naka bridge pala ako) ayun pumalo ng 120mbps. then upon checking, fast ethernet lang pala ang WAN port ng 3rd party wifi router ko. kaya napa upgrade ako ng wala sa oras.

Sky updated their plan lineup again. Been on plan 3499 and was waiting for them to boost it's speed since last year, pero mukang limitation na talaga ng system nila yung 200 mbps. So I asked for a downgrade nalang to plan 2299, which is the same 200 mbps as per their new speed boost. Na-process naman kagad and I'm still getting the same speed for 1200 pesos cheaper.

napag iiwanan na sky, hindi na nag upgrade ng network infra, tinalo pa sila ng mga local cable company, kaya mag offer ng 800mbps for 3500 w/ cable bundle, fiber na din

I agree. Instead na mag-upgrade, inalis nalang nila sa lineup nila yung higher plans. Kung may ibang choice lang talaga, lumipat na ko. Can only choose between Sky and Radius Fiber (na mukang mabagal).

after 11 years pinaputol ko na sky today. for the past month every 3 days napuputol for a day. tapos halos wala ng upload barely 1 mbps. halos di ko maaply online gfiber eh di maupload ang id. hehehe... good riddance sa sky.

mga boss bat di ko mahanap yung settings kung saan ma lolock band or change channel ng wifi namin. kase laging nag sswitch yung signal from 2.4ghz to 5g and vice versa. madalas din mag refresh/restart yung signal na ddc.
