  • @larryboy

Konti palang yata ang available na Ryzen based laptops. Pero yung maganda are the ones based sa Ryzen 7 3750H and Ryzen 5 3550H processors dahil 4-cores / 8-threads sila.

Look for ASUS TUF laptops especially ASUS TUF FX505DU and ASUS TUF FX505DY series.
  • Keep this in mind while RAM prices are low...

  • Does this mean na ang best RAM to buy ba is yung 2667C16 or yung 3733C17?

Pero mukang pinaka sulit ngayon sa tipidpc is yung 3200 cl16 kasi yung 3200 c14 eh doble presyo

Does this mean na ang best RAM to buy ba is yung 2667C16 or yung 3733C17?

Yung chart ni AMD shows latency, so lower latency is usually better for gaming. DDR4-3200 CL14, DDR4-CL16, and DDR4-3733 CL17 ang may lowest latency times. Special mention yung DDR4-3733 kasi pwede na siya mag 1:1 sync with the memory controller which can run at (I assume) 1866 MHz.

Based on pricing mas affordable ang DDR4-3600 CL16 compared to DDR4-3200 CL14 which are using binned Samsung B-Die chips.

    Php 4,970 = Patriot Viper Steel 2x8GB DDR4-3400 CL16-18-18-36
    Php 5,160 = Patriot Viper Steel 2x8GB DDR4-3600 CL17-19-19-39
    Php 7,500 = G.Skill Trident Z RGB 2x8GB DDR4-3600 F4-3600C18D-16GTZRX *

    * AMD Certified

With some tweaking or overclocking tingin ko pwede sila mag-run at DDR4-3600 CL16 or DDR4-3200 CL14 which are the performance sweet spots.

Masyado parin mahal ang DDR4-3200 CL14 memory kits tulad ng G.Skill Flare X kasi nasa Php 10K last I checked.

Anyway wait for reviews and tignan natin kung talagang plug-and-play nalang mga high speed memory kits ngayon with Ryzen 3000 :-)

  • @sleepygeepy - thanks for a great reply.

I'm kind of looking at the Gskill Trident Z 32GB 3200Mhz CL16 which is priced around 12k. Yung CL14 version kasi is 20k+ (yung 3600mhz naman nasa P19,200)

Parang hindi worth it mag invest ng additional 10k for the CL14. or 7k for a 3600mhz. Iniisip ko na it would be better to just put the money sa GPU.

How would I know kung ok for AMD yung RAM na napili ko? (AMD certified)?

    Thanks ulit.

Yung T-Force Delta TUF 32GB kit nasa Php 11K lang and yung rated speed niya is DDR4-3200 CL16, you might want to check that out. Although yung sinasabi mo na G.Skill Trident Z is AMD certified so baka mas maganda ang compatibility with Ryzen 3000. Sabi daw yung T-Force Delta memory kits pair well with ASUS motherboards kasi qualified on ASUS boards ang XMP profiles nila. Not sure if it matters but it's something to keep in mind.

Parang hindi worth it mag invest ng additional 10k for the CL14. or 7k for a 3600mhz. Iniisip ko na it would be better to just put the money sa GPU.

True, yung money spent for low latency memory has greatly diminishing returns. Most of the time mas sulit if you spend more on a faster CPU or better CPU cooling if you want more performance from the CPU side. Pero if you are thinking about gaming, yung focus ng budget mo should really be on the videocard. Mas noticeable ang performance increase sa games by spending more on a faster GPU instead of spending it on the CPU, RAM, or cooling. Although may balancing act din na kailangan to avoid pairing a CPU that is too slow for your videocard.

But having said that, kung sagad ka narin sa CPU and CPU cooling and you are still looking for ways to get more CPU performance, faster memory can help. This is true especially with Ryzen 2000 series since limited ang overclocking capability nila. No matter how much you spend on cooling or on the motherboard you can only get an extra 100MHz - 200MHz past 4GHz.

How would I know kung ok for AMD yung RAM na napili ko? (AMD certified)?

Sa G.Skill Trident Z series yung model numbers that end with GTZRX are AMD certified. Meron din mga memory kits na designed for Ryzen like G.Skill Flare X series. Before buying, good idea din to check the QVL of the motherboard to see which memory kits are known to be compatible. Mga memory manufacturers din like G.Skill and Teamgroup also have their own QVL data that lists which motherboards were tested with their memory kits.

Pero sabi daw mas maganda na ang memory controller ng Ryzen 3000 and mas optimized na yung circuitry ng X570 motherboards for better compatibility with high memory speeds. So I'm not sure if AMD certified memory is still needed. Pero I would still recommend going for AMD certified kits or mga bagong labas na memory models. There is a good chance mga memory manufacturers are testing their newer memory kits with Ryzen CPU's and Ryzen motherboards compared to 2-3 years ago. So yung timings / XMP profiles na programmed sa memory kits ngayon hopefully mas hiyang na with Ryzen 3000.
  • Hi I am current using Ryzen 1200
Planning to upgrade.. worth it ba mag Ryzen 5 2600 na ?
    Or meron bang mga bago?
  • @java051997

Yung cheapest model is Ryzen 5 3600 and best guess is nasa Php 12K ang price.

Also kung ang motherboard na gamit mo ngayon is B350 or X370, baka hindi din compatible with the new Ryzen 3000 processors.

  • Might be better to go with B450 or X470 for now...

  • AMD Ryzen 3700X overclocking potential makes it “the crown jewel of the stack”
