Ultrawide Monitors Thread (FAQ at page 1)

  • ^ Meron naman, pero minsan kasi parang rare masyado yung model, nahihirapan yung service center to source the parts or replacement. This was told to me a tech guy from Acer.
  • Hi All.
    Pics: <click here for link>

backlight bleed vs. IPS glow starts at 2:51

Looks like IPS glow to me. Matino naman ang monitor mo and very minimal ang backlight bleed based sa pics that you posted. Also any time nag view ka ng IPS panel at a side-ways angle (and with dark viewing conditions) then yung IPS glow lalabas yan naturally. Makikita mo siya as a gradual clouding coming from the edge and spreading to the center as you view the screen more sideways.

Unfortunately hindi talaga kaya ng really deep blacks ang IPS gaming monitors ngayon, and if you play without any lights magiging visible ang backlight bleed or IPS glow. My suggestion is play with some ambient light on para hindi obvious masyado ang backlight bleed or IPS glow. Also to maintain your eyesight kasi playing PC games with no lights on is bad for your eyes.

Watched Linus' video at yung old NCIX video nya differentiating IPS Glow and Backlight bleed before posting here kaso I'm new to this kaya hindi ako tiwala sa mata ko. Wanted to get a second opinion. Parang pareho kasi pagtinitingnan ko.

    @sleepygeepy
    thanks sa feedback sir.

Follow-up question lang. Read in multiple forums (Acer community & Reddit) na talagang common issue sya at kahit yung mga unit na walang signs ng flickering, after a few months or even after replacement nakaka-experience pa din ng flickering.

Kaya ko i-overclock to 115Hz yung monitor but at 120Hz nag flicker na sya.

Should I just #dealwithit? Ang saklap naman kung ganun.

Yung flickering is a problem, hindi normal operation yan and siyempre distracting during gameplay. My suggestion is just stick to the native 100Hz refresh rate of the monitor to remove flickering and to help extend the lifespan of the monitor.

I believe yung 120Hz refresh rate ng X34P is an overclocked refresh rate and is not native (or guaranteed). Also mahirap din ma-distinguish ang difference between 100Hz and 120Hz so you probably won't notice a difference in actual gameplay.

If you ask me, mas importante na you get a good sample / good unit where the panel has minimal to almost no noticeable backlight bleed. Yung guaranteed 120Hz operation without flickering is not a big deal really since you can play at 100Hz or even 90Hz and you probably won't notice the difference.
  • kaso may flickering.. haha.. olats
  • sa wakas napagana ko 120hz sa ultrawide x34p monitor ko using my asus scar 2 laptop rtx 2070 minidisplay port to display port, cable lang from L@z@d@ ugreen ang tatak ng cable, before gamit ko hdmi lang running @50 hz lang, yung nabile kong minidisplay port to display port locally ayaw gumana, kaya sa mga me balak mag ultrawide 34 inches using your laptop mini display port to display port , ang bilhen nyo yung ugreen from L@z@d@ ,nga pala pati gsync nagana na.

  • ^ Nakakaroon ba ng scanlines yung screen pag naka overclock yung X34P to 120Hz?
  • Nakakaroon ba ng scanlines yung screen pag naka overclock yung X34P to 120Hz?

    wala naman yung sa akin
  • wala naman yung sa akin

    Nice, thanks for the info.

Experience ko kasi in the past with the X34 (non-P version) at PG279Q, after a while, nakaroon ng either scan line artifacts or dead pixels respectively.
  • more than 3 years na yung X34 ko na naka 100hz, wala parin naman issues hanggang ngayon.
  • may dual monitor mount ba na pwede yung isang ultrawide 34 and 25" monitor
Walang dead pixel or flickering.

  • may dual monitor mount ba na pwede yung isang ultrawide 34 and 25" monitor

  • I don't know if this is the proper thread to post. I would like to ask the masters on which video card to use to play mid to high settings AAA 2019 games for the LG 34GK950F-B monitor.
  • @pcnoobie101

The LG 34GK950F-B is a FreeSync 2 monitor so your best option is to start with an RX 5700XT. You can also go with an RTX 2070 SUPER but I'm not sure if the monitor is G-Sync compatible.

However if you want to play at high settings with very high framerates, you should be considering RTX 2080 SUPER or even RTX 2080 Ti. The ultrawide resolution of 3440x1440 is very demanding on the videocard so you need as much GPU horsepower as possible.

BTW, where did you buy the LG 34GK950F-B? or are you still planning to buy this? - Thanks

inOC ko na yung X34P ko to 120Hz. So far, wala naman flickering at scanlines.

  • ^good for you, pwedeng pwede na ulit mag battlefield v hehehehe
  • ^ Sinubukan ko mag BFV ulit para ma test out yung 120Hz. Hackerfield 5 pa rin. haha
  • Hi Guys, may nakagamit n ba ng Specter pro 30uw200, any review?
LG 34 nakuha ko. but planning to acquire another one.
  • may naka 49" ultrawide na ba dito? musta performance? thanks

Wag kang kukuha ng SpecterPro 30UW200. May overheating issue. Pag nagka-damage, ikaw pa lalabas na may kasalanan at i-vovoid ng shop yung warranty mo. It happened to me. Get a good brand, with good after sales support. Hindi yung feeling technician lang yung support.

You can check my post at the LCD thread page 972

  • 34uw100 user here. TIA
  • @all

  • @skylink_charles,

Had mine for 6 months na, no issues naman so far except for one dead pixel but it's barely noticeable hehe.
  • @imathewalrus

    north bayou F80 17"-27" ata
    bought one thru shope**
