Ground when touching metal parts of the case/screws/usb ports/headphone jacks

  • Hi,

tanong ko lang if it's okay and will not affect my hardware. Wala kasi akong 3 prong outlet or ground sa outlets namin eh. Meron bang negative effect ang ungrounded outlets sa hardware ko?

My PSU is a seasonic s12II 520w 80+ bronze and my UPS is an APC bx650li-ms 650VA

Ano masusuggest niyo to fix this issue?

    Thanks in advance!
  • I don't even think there's an issue.
  • well you see all those overvolt/surge protection that you see on motherboards, those things will not work properly if your system is not grounded.

so in case that something shit happens you might end up frying your USB ports or worst your processor (because USB chipset is now part inside the processor).

what things that can trigger this issue

    - power surge (can happen anytime)
    - lightning storm
    - any USB device that backfeeding a power (eg USB killer or cheap external HDD enclosures)

but since those things can only happen once in a full moon with less than 1% happening to you, I guess youll be fine.

Of course theres also side effect, you can get electrocuted if your system is not grounded properly, which most of the newbie PC user noticed when they were using their computers.
