The Coolers Thread: CPUs / GPUs / HSFs / Fans: New Products and Reviews

  • Out na locally yung Phanteks M25 120mm & 140mm. 1.7k yung 3 pack ng 140mm non-RGB & 1.6k yung 120mm.
  • @GENTLEMEN: same effect din yata pag gumamit ng anti-vibe mounts ni noctua... not sure doon sa mga similar mounts...

@Ignus: buti may boxed version na locally...
  • @STASIS

  • @ignus, pabulong brader, sa shakee overseas, and 2.5k.
  • @wigiboy: check penkelhab at ratsada... mukhang mas mura pa rin yung isang overseas seller kay shakee...
  • finally finished installing copper plate (nickel plated) and thermal pads for backplate on my rx580...

  • uy... meron sa shakee... hahaha...

Master baka may pics ka dyan showcasing yung mga cooling mods that you've installed as RX 580 mo :)

I still have an GTX 1660 Super, GTX 1070 and RTX 3060 na nakatambay lang - might as well apply said mods before selling it :) Will use yours as an inspiration for doing it. TIA!

Yung RTX 3080 ko medyo hindi ko muna gagalawin at mukhang oks pa naman yung Thermal Paste that I've done recently. These past few weeks ksi nagkaroon ng Green pixel showing up sa screen but bigla na lang nawala after updating to the latest driver (using DDU + NVCleaninstall)
  • @RyuzakiL: yun lang nakasalpak na sa loob ng case... and hindi rin ako kumuha ng pics while installing it... hahaha... if time permits eh baka makuhanan ko pero yun labas lang ng gpu...

though i can list here things na nagamit ko.. minus of course yung source sa shakee... which can be pm'ed naman kung sino seller...

1st iteration: from stock (2018 card)... changing thermal pads ng vram and vrm and repasting tim

    ordered from shakee:

    1 maxtor ap-12 14.8W 0.5mm thermal pad 120mm x 20mm
    1 maxtor ap-12 14.8W 2.0mm thermal pad 120mm x 20mm

thermal paste is from existing noctua nt-h1

2nd iteration will be copper shims na nauwi sa copper plate for copper mod.. buti nalang may seller kay shakee... added to buy 99% isopropyl alcohol too... mas madali maglinis vs. already available alcohols na nabibili sa market (70% yata?)

e-mailed powercolor with regards sa size ng thermal pads na pwedeng ilagay sa backplate kasi may back plate nga yung card ko pero wala namang thermal pad na nakalagay... before that eh tinry ko ipasok yung natiran 2.0mm pads and may space pa... kaya decided to buy 2.5mm pads for it...

pc replied to my inquiry and sinabi yung tamang sizes ng pads for vram and vrm... which is weird... kasi ang inquiry ko is for back plate... at least... tamang info nakuha ko direct sa manufacturer... though naalala ko dati nanag email din ako sa kanila for right sizes pero deadma sila hahaha...

1.75mm for vram and 1mm for vrm... so medyo kulang yung unang lagay ko... kaya decided again to order 0.5mm and 2mm pads... para may back up na pads... then 2.5mm for back plate...

2nd iteration (earlier): may natira naman na 0.5mm pad from previous iteration at may back up naman na another 0.5mm and 2.0mm

    1 maxtor ap-12 14.8W 0.5mm thermal pad 120mm x 20mm
    1 maxtor ap-12 14.8W 2.0mm thermal pad 120mm x 20mm
    1 maxtor ap-12 14.8W 2.5mm thermal pad 120mm x 120mm
    iso alco 99%

same procedure sa teardown nung una...

'wag i try kung walang back up plan in case masira... hahaha...

baka glitch lang... sana... hehehe... if under warranty pa yung 3080 mo... 'wag mo muna galawin hehehe...

kung magkaroon ulit ng time... baka i try ko yung ptm7950... daming seller na nakita ko sa shakee... pero sift muna yung mga legit... hehehe

Salamat sa input master. I've dissembled partly yung GTX 1660 Super (Colorful Battleax), and may thermal pad yung sa backplate part. For the GTX 1070 (Palit SuperJetStream), ito talaga ang i-checheck ko yung Thermal Paste and Pads since it's already 7-8years old XD

Yeah, siguro isang card ang i-research ko for every restday para covered lahat and less room for errors.

Of course if the temps are still good on stock config, then might as well just thoroughly clean the heatsinks free of dust bunnies.

Still interested with the copper mods though since they have a very real tangible improvements sa cooling :)
  • @RyuzakiL: for cleaning?... used contact cleaner (wd-40 specialist fast drying) on almost everything except sa fans... and mas madali maalis yung tim sa 99% isopropyl alcohol... mas madali rin matuyo...

mas interested ako doon sa ginamit niya for copper shims para di gumalaw/protect against short... not sure kun meron sa ratsada/shakee...

    <click here for link>

heatsink kit tawag doon sa may cut-out

    12,800 won/550.47 php

  • dependeng on the card/variant... pwedeng shim or plate...
  • Arctic P14 vs Scythe Kaze Flex 140. Alin ang mas maganda for case fan (intake)?

for case fan ni arctic?... get the F series (case fan)... though either P (pressure optimized fans) or F series eh get their PWM PST CO...

Gamit ko P14 as intake sa Fractal Define Mini case ko then configured it kasama ng ibang P12s naman using Fan Control. So far so good.
  • ^

6x P14 PWM PST (3 front intake, 3 for top mounted AIO) gamit ko. Sulit kasi ung 5 pack for ~2k pesos
  • Sayang, late ko na nabasa comments nyo. Scythe kasi yung nabli ko. Ok rin naman siguro yun.
  • ^Okay naman ang Kaze Flex

good evening sir kamusta po temps ng GPU mo sa Fractal Design Mini C same tayo ng case yung sa akin nag 100c ang hotspot temp ng RX 6600XT ko using Fractal Design Define Mini C

  • ^Highest ko sir sa RDR2 75c then sa Warzone 2 nasa 72c. Ang set up ng fans ko sa Fractal Mini C TG ito:

    Intake Front: P14 (2)
    Intake Bottom: P12
    Exhaust Top: P12 (2)
    Exhaust Rear: P12

Intake Front: Be Quiet Silent Wings 3 Highspeed 140mm (2)
Rear Exhaust: Be Quiet Silent Wings 3 Highspeed 120mm

  • ^finally the put rubber pads on it LOL

even DIY my Artic P12 with the left over rubber pads from ID cooling rubber pads.
  • ^

About that they release a 3k RPM variant of the venerable P12 series from Arctic :). Hope the P14 will receive the same upgrade or make it at 4k RPM :).

I'm tired of these overpriced "silent" fans when you can get 900 pesos fans that can ramp up from 800 rpm to 3k or 6k XD.
  • That’s a nice looking fan. I wonder how much it will retail here.
