Defective Laptop? Can faulty chipset damage HDD?

  So I bought an Asus GL552 laptop more than 1 year ago.
  
  Less than 6 months palang, bumigay na yung HDD. I bought a new one, Seagate Barracuda and now 11 months palang, sira na rin siya.
  
  Malas lang ba ako sa HDD or is there a part of the chipset/motherboard na sumisira sa HDD ko?

  No chipset will break HDDs or SSDs. Siguro minalas ka lang.

  Bihira lang na hindi nasshutdown ng maayos yun laptop. Yung lumang Asus ko tumagal ng 8 years bago nasira. Nakasaksak naman sa magandang AVR yung power supply.
  
  OK will try Western Digital this time. Plano ko rin kumuha ng SSD.
  
  Totoo kayang nasa chipset ang Product Key ng Windows?
