Pwede ba bumili ng bagong router para sa PLDT DSL?

  • Three years nadin yung router namin pero okay pa naman kaso gusto ko sana makita kung may benefits mag-palit at kung magpapalit man yung tanong ko is plug and play ba yun? Isaksak lang yung dsl sa bagong router tapos okay na? Thank you sa mga maipapayo nyo.
  • yes you can and no its not plug and play, you have to plug and configure it.

    meron nga lang catch, most of the network ni PLDT is naka bind na yung mac address sa network nila so you need to spoof it. so try mo muna if your newly bough ADSL modem able to get a WAN IP on default 0/100 circuit and DHCP as WAN option, kung ayaw that's expected, read the next paragraph, else your done. Please take note that you need to buy a 3rd part modem like tplink and tenda xDSL modem. tenda sells a cheap VDSL modem over lazada and shopee so you might want to get that one. If you decide to buy a used ISP provided modems, they dont have this thing called MAC spoofing and theres a high chance that if you dont have that feature, that modem is useless, not unless you use it as a dumb modem only (aka bridge mode) and do the mac spoofing on the actual router.

    you can easily spoof it by getting the mac addresss printed on your old modem or you can view it on your current modem's web interface. kunin mo yung mac address for LAN yung current modem mo, then subtract to 1 address, so lets say that your modem's LAN mac address is 00:54:55:AD:FD then your WAN MAC is 00:54:55:AD:FC. the sequence is 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-A-B-C-D-E-F (0 is the lowest and F is the highest)
