  • For those who are planning to get the RX 5600 XT... here's a useful tweak from Igor's Lab... No BIOS flashing needed :-)

  • Make sure to test the card after VBIOS flashing...

  • On my Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 I'm still getting black screens in the middle of a game, but maybe once or twice a month... totally random. Also seeing a lot of flickering when playing Borderlands 2 and this is on the latest WHQL drivers. Surprisingly I never encountered this when I was still using the Sapphire Nitro RX 580.

    Anyway pinapabayaan ko nalang para magamit ang videocard... I want to spend more time playing than troubleshooting :-)
  • @sleepygeepy

    Same s akin sir crash galore dati

    use DDU sir then reinstall driver worked for me
  • @glitch19

    Thanks for the tip, actually nag DDU na ako and fresh reinstall ng driver version 20.1.3. Also selected reset all settings when installing the driver and even tried installing in safe mode. Binalik ko din sa stock settings ang videocard and no more overclocked or undervolted settings, defaults lang. I also disabled FreeSync, Radeon Chill, Image sharpening, Enhanced Sync, and any other form of custom setting para pwede ko sila i-rule out.

    DDU my driver and never went to Wattman section or clicked the tab EVER and disabled RIS. My Radeon Chill is enabled though. So far so good for me. 1 month running.

  • Buti never pa ko nagka-issue... Dalawa na natest ko na 5700 XT. Giga Gaming OC saka Aorus.

    Never did a clean Windows OS install since di pa ko nagpalit ng CPU/Board for around 2+ years now. Using Ryzen 7 2700X and X370 board. Salpak lang palagi ng new card everytime. I did do a factory reset in Radeon software though to fix slight lag issues on NBA 2K20. But no issues with black screen or anything.
  • ^
    depende sa game... nagkaka black screen ako after a few mins sa BFV... all other games ok naman... fix sa BFV is to turn on DX12 then turn off future frame rendering... surprisingly, mas smooth pa sa DX11 and higher framerates too...

    non-game related tasks no issues (like browsing etc)

    i'm using Aorus 5700XT too
  • ^ Lemon units ba yung may mga issue o driver-related talaga yung black screen? Nagiisip kasi ako between RTX 2060 or RX 5600XT. Nagaantay nalang ako ng strix version ng 5600xt locally kaso deal breaker talaga yung driver issues like black screen and random freezes if ever man meron din sa 5600xt. Imbes kasi na maglalaro nalang magttroubleshoot pa. :(
  • ^
    driver issue lang talaga. pinaka stable sakin na driver was yung november release 19.11.3. But again, depende sa game.. I'm still using the latest version kasi ok naman sa Apex, Monster Hunter, Overwatch, Diablo III... Sa BFV may issue pero parang napaganda pa nga kasi napilitan ako gamitin DX12, which to my surprise mas smooth pa yung gameplay and mas mataas pa framerate ko

    pag nag garbage yung display (artifacts, tamang space invaders) yun ang lemon units..
  • @TPC_GameGuard025

    Suggestion ko sir check reviews muna before buying yung ASUS STRIX version. Lately hindi maganda ang ASUS videocards especially on the Radeon side. Palagi may issue like yung thermal pads ng RX Vega to overheating sa RX 5700 series and other bad design decisions. Kung mag spend lang din ng close to Php 20K for an RX 5600XT, suggestion ko go with a different brand RX 5700 or consider going with RTX 2060 Super instead.

    Pero kung gusto ng RX 5600 XT, I believe yung pinaka-matino na model available sa atin is the Sapphire Pulse and Gigabyte Gaming OC versions.
  • ^ Yes sir will check the reviews. Dami ko din nakita sa 5700 series strix and lalo na yung tuf about sa cooling issues. May hinahabol po kasi akong theme sa PC ko kaya as much as possible strix ang habol ko. And sakto naman na yung 5600xt strix ang within budget ko.

    Anyways, included na 5600xt sa Raise the Game promotion ni AMD. :D

    I recently bought Sapphire 5600XT Pulse OC at nakita ko nga sa AMD site na kasama siya sa "Raise the Game" promo nila.

    Question: How can I avail those games mentioned?

    20.1.3 ang current driver ko sir sleepy. pero iirc nun sa previous driver meron ako black screen tho hindi naman totally black buong screen, parang kasing laki lang netong message board at dito ko lang sa site ng tpc na encountered yun in random. i suspect pa nga na baka site issue eh.

    gaming;
    yun ghost recon breakpoint ko nag-crash dati sa umpisa pa lang ng game habang nag customize pa lang ako ng character ko sa game. googled it and found out na marami pala meron din crashing issue sa ghost recon. eventually nawala naman na at nalalaro ko na ngayon without any issue. sa COD advanced warfare wala pa naman ako nakikita issue so far.
    sa fishing planet at the hunter call of the wild looks ok naman tho saglit ko lang nilaro yun dalawa. di ko pa ma-test yung ibang games, hindi ko pa kasi na-reinstalled.

    pulse 5700 + 3700x combo nga pala both running at stocks.
    uninstall my old driver using AMD tool in safe mode then install new driver ang ginagawa ko.
    sana nga driver issue lang.
  • given the problems with 5700 xt, would you guys still recommend it over a 2060 super?
  • ^
    yes definitely

    given the problems with 5700 xt, would you guys still recommend it over a 2060 super?

    If you ask me, it will depend on your tolerance...

    When it comes to price-to-performance, the RX 5700 XT is the faster card for the same amount of money. On average it is around 10% faster when playing games at 1080p ~ 1440p. But in some modern titles, the RX 5700 XT can be as much as 15% to 20% faster depending on the game.

    If you are looking at gaming performance above everything else... and willing to gamble that the black screen issue will not affect you or it will get fixed over time... then go for the RX 5700 XT. That extra 10% performance might sound like a small difference, but at 1440p it can mean the difference between your frameate staying above or below 60 fps.

    If you value driver stability above everything else... and you don't want to risk getting the black screen issue or spend time troubleshooting in case you do get it... then go for the RTX 2060 Super. The RTX 2060 Super might be slower, but at least you will not worry about the black screen issue ruining your gaming experience. If you are playing at 1440p it might be worth it to spend a few thousand pesos more to get the RTX 2070 Super.

    ~~~~~~~~
    Keep in mind that AMD has not fixed the black screen issue since launch and that is 6 months long / 15 driver updates down the line. So I'm guessing the issue will not go away anytime soon if you are experiencing it on your PC. But if you are not affected by it then consider yourself lucky and enjoy the Navi videocard.
    If you are not in a hurry to buy, my suggestion is wait a few more months and see what happens. AMD might be able to find the root cause and send out a driver fix or VBIOS update. On the other hand we might see a price cut on existing RTX videocards when Big Navi or RTX 3000 series GPU's arrive.
  • thanks sleepygeepy
    yup i'm thinking if ill spend more for 2070 super if it will last me for the next 5years or more
  • Informative video showing the differences... Php 22,160 versus Php 23,999
  • No hate, gusto ko talaga sana mag 5700 pero dahil madami padin driver issues nag 2700Super nalang ako. Hayst. Miss the good old days with my Radeon 9550SE trading blows sa Geforce3...at least lamang na AMD sa cpu.
  • @ender
    Wala na ako issue with my 5700XT. Disabled the enhanced sync, not opening the wattman tab. XD
  • dati parin ako walang issue sa RX 5700 ko even undervolted.. pero the latest drivers solves almost everything from overclocking to flickering which happens to me once in a blue moon..
    napansin ko lang dati nung naranasan ko ung mga black screen flickering ang ginawa ko lang is dinisable ko under DISPLAY -> OVERIDE -> turn off HDCP toggle.. since DISPLAY port naman gamit kong cable after that never na akong nag ka issue, i only play DX11 at DX12 games
    currently sa latest driver napaka stable na mag overclock, currently running 1850mhz to 1.031v with power level +20%..
    pinaka weird ko naranasan is alisin ung shadows or antialiasing sa game settings, pag naka disable ung setting sa game na nilalaro parang may konting micro stutter pero pag naka enable or meron value sobrang smooth naman kahit mas mababa ang FPS haha! parang baligtad
  • Sa amd ba talaga yung problema o sa windows 10 regarding sa blackscreen issue? gamit ko gigabyte 5700 xt 8gb dati kasi nag aabang ako lage ng new drivers sa amd pero nung napanood ko to <click here for link> sa youtube(baka makatulong sa may mga blackscreen issue) tinry ko mag fresh install ng windows 10 ngayon 1 month na 0 blackscreens
    meron ba kayong marerecommend for waterblock para sa gigabyte 5700 xt gaming oc 8gb ?medyo natataasan kasi ako sa temps ng amd card d pa din sanay
    nasa ilan inaabot ng temp nyo mga sir pag binuburn test nyo sa furmark 5700 xt?
    I'm using Sapphire RX 5600 XT Pulse OC (Manually flashed vBIOS) with Adrenalin 20.1.3 - Wala ako na-eexperience black screen while playing games (Bloodstained, GTAV, Outlast 2, Grim Dawn, Farming Simulator, Fortnite - these are my games installed)
    Issue ko sa blackscreen is when browsing. Not often pero minsan kahit pag bukas ko pa lang ng Chrome at mag enter ng isang site.. mag blackscreen bigla, around 5-10 seconds then babalik naman pero may pop up na Chrome stopped working. May instance naman na nag blackscreen pero di na nabalik, nag flash lang yung led light sa monitor ko so no choice but to hard reset pero bihirang bihira lang.
    Not sure kung yung browser ko lang ba problem or yung OS ko ba (Win10) or dahil nga may issue yung gpu driver.
