Mga boss anong solution sa amoy alimuong (dirty socks syndrome) pag bukas ng aircon or fan? 3-months palng si aircon pero nagkaganun na sya. although nawawala naman ung amoy after a few minutes after buksan.
switch to FAN MODE then run it for 30mins at least before you shut it down. do it regularly until mawala na yun smell.
damp cooling coils/fins that harbors bacteria during start up what causing that smell.
if bad smell still persist despite, with your evaporator completely DRY, run it in FAN MODE then blast the evap with lysol disinfectant spray.
is it safe to use on AC coils? prolly yes, marami naman gumagawa nyan even with car ACs. kahit ako ;)

Hello! First time to buy an aircon. Minamata ko so far yung bago ni LG (1.5hp around 40k) is this a good brand to get? Or may marerecommend kayong mas better? In terms of budget naman, flexible naman ako as long as durable and okay yung unit.

So far wala na ako na-experience na smell pag 26C pataas ang temps mula nun nagpalit ako ng filter as recommended by Godai_Yusaku. More than 1 month ko na gamit okay na okay naman ginupit ko na lang sya kasi pang-air purifier sya pero it does it job well naman.

imho negligible or halos parehas lang yan regardless of the brand. e.g premium vs elite etc,,,
you may go for it if you are after those bells and whistles(added cost) with the superior variant where the inferior don't have.
masaya na ako sa base variant ko ;)

^agree. I bought yun Daikin Elite (2015 premium model) for added features lang like horizontal swing, weekly timer, comfort mode sensor for an extra 5k but I rarely use them lol . Stroke of luck the basic D'Smart model na kukunin ko sana na kasabayan nito Elite ko had problematic PCB daw which R&J mentioned to me during my routinary cleaning with them. They had piles of out of warranty units for repairs back then.

ako naman i wish nag king na lang ako instead of queen for extra features

^If I remembered it correctly, Daikin premium (King) models have bigger outdoor unit pala vs. Queen which equates to a bit more powerful cooling . So this is something to consider as well.

We're talking about power savings right? Then kaunti lang. IIRC, mas malaki nga ang outdoor unit ng King kaysa Queen sa 1.5hp size but by only a small margin. This won't really translate into a more efficiency sa normal use.
Hindi naman features ang justification na hanap mo kundi power savings di ba? So hindi worth it yung price difference for me. Add to that na wala naman resale value ang aircon at same lang ang haba ng warranty nila, then the DSQ is the model that presents the best value overall sa units ng Daikin.

kumuha po ako ng panasonic 1.5 last december, after two months, nakaranas po ako ng low cooling, wala naman po error. itinawag ko po sa binilhan ko, and napuntahan po ng technician. Chineck po nila and the fix and diagnosis was incorrect pressure and ginawa po nila system reprocess. after a month nagkaganun ulit, itinawag ko po ulit and pag ka check nila ganun daw po ulit, low pressure and nag system reprocess. Both times na fix at lumamig naman.
Worry ko lang baka maulit na naman ito after a month. Ano po kaya issue nito? ok lang kaya mag demand na ko change unit kapag naulit ito ng 3rd time?

^^Contact Panasonic mismo pa refer ka other service dealer to fix your unit. I can recommend the ff , check mo na lang if they can service within warranty units:
• Airpac based in QC but they can go as far as Paranaque area kami.
• R&J based in QC/Cavite branch but they service anywhere in metro and nearby province.
• Electro in Pasay City. I haven't dealt with them yet but they seem to be professional naman kausap.

Ask for a replacement kung nasa warranty pa. It happened to me years ago Samsung A/C WT ni reprocess one time lang din yung unit ng accredited service center nila pero hindi pa rin ayos so ayun pinalitan nila ng bagong unit.

Hello! Noob question, kung may budget ako for split type pero may lalagyanan naman for window type inverter ang kwarto, mas nag m-make sense ba na window type nalang kunin? Or magtatalo nalang sa features na gusto ko?

^Definitely mas praktikal mag window type inverter na lang. Mura na units with not so complicated installation, less maintenance pa vs split types. It's only advisable to resort to STs if it's not viable to install WTs, like in my case I don't have a big enough wall provision for a WT. So no choice but to opt for an ST. Cooling-wise same lang naman sila.

You'll havta weigh the price of repair against buying a new unit. Ilang tao na ba yung old unit? If may 5 years na ay best to buy a new one na. If the price of repair is at 40% of a new one, buy a new one na

Thanks sa input, going 5 years na sya. Around 14.5k estimate ng reprocessing.Medyo tight budget,making sure na TCL aircon as my choice will be a good choice or baka mas mahal pa sya kung hindi magtatagal.

So I just came back from a shop, nag window shopping haha. Sabi nung kuya dun mas tipid sa electricity ang split type vs window type. Is this true? Despite na parehong inverter? In this case I'm eyeing LG (dual inverter), question is how big of a savings is he talking about? Any insights appreciated!

The answer to this is also in page 01. Towards the bottom, I have posted the power consumption data of our units.. There you will be able to compare WT units and ST units of different capacities installed in different room sizes. While ST units may indeed consume less power during operation, this difference is easily offset by their higher cost of maintenance as well as higher acquisition cost.

^^^I've been using Split Types since 1994, pang apat ko na itong Daikin, 2nd inverter kind that I've used. We live in a bldg and the rest or us uses window type ACs which are by far easier to maintain, not to mention it has less moving parts and manageable points of failure. So believe me, you wouldn't want an ST unit if you have a choice besides aesthetics & the minimal power savings it has vs window type as @Godai have mentioned. Window type inverters have come a long way since it was introduced after Split type inverters made waves earlier.

Thanks for the input guys, decided na ako to buy a WT inverter instead.
Ang problema nalang is hindi kasya yung unit na bibilhin ko in terms of length haha (actually wala ako makita na pasok dun in terms of length kasi sobrang luma nung lalagyan nung WT aircon 90s pa), pero magagawan naman nang paraan accdg to our carpenter. Basically bubuksan lang yung likod nung frame na bakal para ma pasok tapos tatakpan ulit.

I have Daikin Queen 1HP my room size 7sqm 3 lang kame TV and 2 laptop inside running 12hrs a day.
Bill consistent po bill namen hindi lumalagpas 2k.
Except pag nagpalinis kame lumalagpas 2k siguro malakas sa kuryente water pressure washer.
Yung kapitbahay ko Carrier 1HP Gold yung kanya 21sqm buong apartment nila with ref sa loob TV 50 inches TV and 7 sila sa Loob.
Wala pa sila 1 month sa let see ano bill nila.
Since naka 1hp non inverter sila dati.

sobrang bitin yun 1hp nila for a 21m² room with a fridge inside that contributes a lot of heat load, plus yun 7 pax pa.
there's a good chance pa sana na mas bumaba pa ang konsumo nila as compared with their room while having that non-inverter AC kung tama ang cooling capacity ng bagong AC nila. a 2hp~2.5 perhaps.
abangan natin ang resulta ng bola :)
